Pastor Jeff. The Early years
Do you think Sheldon drove him to become an elder
@@heatherturner2366 Sheldon probably drove him to the brink of suicide.
@@heatherturner2366 he hadn't met Sheldon yet.
He needs to worry about being typecast.
I knew I recognized the skinny one!
Cool way to get rid of them. I did it another way---I'd been working in the yard for hours, was hot, tired, sweaty, dirty---doorbel rings. In my old neighborhood the ladies from some religious group would come around all dressed up, sometimes w/ kids, to "spread the word." I was always polite, but I lost it this time & chased them down the street yelling, "You get all dressed up & come around to a nice neighborhood every single week & think you're doing something! Why don't you go help the poor or hand out food to the homeless or something! If I want to go to church I'll find one!!!" I NEVER had any religion bother me again---apparently word got around that a devil-woman lived in that house.
You were only paraphrasing what Jesus taught.
Many churches prefer to ignore Him.
@@Plethorality yet another thing He taught was "Go ye therefore unto all the world. Preach the gospel unto everyone." So the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (as well as the Jehovah's Witnesses) are directly following His teachings as well...
*****The More You Know*****
Awesome!😅
@@jonathanozment4523 I think it was always supposed to be both - and Jesus placed a lot more emphasis on being kind to people than on telling them stuff. Sharing the Kingdom was always meant to be about *doing*
@@yippee8570 in my experience, people from both of those churches are very kind to people as well... I never said that kindness is not also important, just said that it isn't right to fault them for also doing something else that Christ commanded...
As an ex Mormon who was cast out by my family for not going on a mission, and had two of four brothers who did suffer mental health crisis's while on their missions, I approve of this comedy moment.
“hello….hello…helloooooooo”
I'm sorry your family did that, it's not officially required or mandatory to go on a mission so that was just your family being strict, to be clear (so people don't think that's a common thing in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) some families may have it as a family tradition just as some families all go into military service or the same type business but it isn't an official church teaching that "all must go" or anything like that...
*****The More You Know*****
Had a roommate who was a Mormon. Nice guy but religion was just plain nuts. Talked with him only once about it and pointed out the historic facts surrounding Mormonism and he was totally unaware of almost all of it. He was so shaken that I never brought it up or allowed myself to be dragged into it again. The group psychopathology brainwashes them but that's true of all religions. Utter nonsense.
Religion is pretty much a silly thing
@@hewhois7583 everything is a silly thing to other people that care nothing about it... 🤔
🤣 I loved this show. She was a hoot. Hated when it was canceled.
Best. Comedy. Ever. And I learned SO MUCH about addiction from it.
Allison Janney is the absolute best.
In the 1990s, two Morman missionaries came up to me in a rural market in Asia, where we were the only Americans. They asked me what church I was from, and when I told them I'm an anthropologist, they turned around and walked away as quickly as they could. My Asian friends thought it was strange. I couldn't stop laughing
One Saturday morning, I was woken by the sound of my doorbell. I was heavily hungover. I got out of bed, and pull the T-shirt off of the top of the pile of dirty clothes next to my bed, figuring it would be the least filthy. I opened the door, and there were two Mormon young man. They looked at me, looked at each other, and looked at me again. This took at least 15 seconds and not a word had been spoken. Finally, one of the young men reached out with a pamphlet in his hand. I took it and said thank you. They left my porch at almost a dead run.
I went back inside and went to go to the bathroom. I looked in the mirror, and saw that my t-shirt was the one that says "God is dead and I want his job."
Tälk about timing and this coming up on my algorithm.
It's good to see that Pastor Jeff left the cult.
And started his own!
Seeing Alison as CJ Craig in this scene makes it even more hilarious/scary.
I've had both Jehovah Witness & Mormons come to my door, but one time about 17 yrs ago my daughter called & said some Mormon guys came & she wanted them to talk with me, so they agreed to come back the next day. I was at her house when they arrived & we all got our Bibles out, mine's KJV, and discussed what the Bible actually says according to God's Holy word. Several topics such as heaven, hell, Jesus being the Alpha & Omega (beginning & last), dying for our sins & being our ONLY advocate between us & God, etc. Needless to say, they had a hard time answering/debating some of the things the Bible, not me, said and after two hours, decided to leave on pleasant words. We never argued or raised our voices and we thanked them for coming.
A couple of friends of mine were talking and I brought up that there had been a comedy bit on a talk show about weird or silly headlines on the Enquirer and that one was "Toaster possessed by Satan. Burns the pentagram on every slice." It occurred to one of my friends that if they could they'd mess with the heating filaments of a toaster until it DID burn a pentagram onto toast and then wait for a Mormon or Jehovah's Witness to come to the door and offer them toast while staring at them creepily. I wish I knew somebody with the know how and the nerve to actually do it.
This is a funny one! Pentagrams on toast and given to them. 😅 Actually, I have seen ads for team emblems on toast so it might be possible. 😏
@@cardinalbob1 would be rather simple, actually...
@@jonathanozment4523 That’s good, wasn’t sure of the difficulty. 👍
@@cardinalbob1 while I'd never encourage any untrained individual to work on or modify electrical appliances, if someone knew their way around electrical systems and such, it shouldn't be all that difficult
Just saw a “baby” Pastor Jeff on an old Ghost Whisperer…he was 22!
When the Jehova’s Witnesses rang our doorbell and asked to come into pray , my husband said “Sure, come on in.” They looked scared to death. I don’t think anyone ever did that before!🤣 #fastestprayer #letsrun!
She is so beautiful.
Ain't she though? The little dance 'n' slide is gorgeous.
C.J. Cregg did little dances & songs, too. Lovely.
This is golden!
Mormon missionaries call themselves “Elder”. When speaking to their Elders. They also never say “good news”
Yeah, whoever wrote this wanted to make them look silly but had no idea of Latter-day Saint missionaries or our teachings--or even our attire (no nametags!). That said, it is funny.
At first glance, I thought they were Scientologist
Lol
They have a particular kind of crazy look in their eyes.
They are almost the same thing....they (like scientology) is based on some weird space story
Epic😂😂😂
Imagine what she would have done to the JW's???
We don’t scare that easily. Lol
@StaceyChamberlain-kf1qx No disrespect, Stacey. But in 1998, I dressed up as Sting the wrestler for Halloween, complete with the black and white makeup. Three ladies rang my doorbell, and I answered in full costume. They were speechless. I kindly told them that I didn't subscribe to their philosophy but to have a peaceful day. I never saw those three ladies move that fast off my porch in my life. That was the very last time I ever dressed up for or celebrated Halloween.
She’d scare the JW’s so bad they’d black list the entire apartment complex just not to run into her again😂
I thought Mormons and Jehovah's Witness were the same?
@@imaginethat2003not even close. Look into it!
I once told some JW's I was a white witch, they left quite quickly and funnily enough, we never had any others after that. Sorted 😅
When I visited family in South America once I saw what were obviously Mormons making the rounds. I felt so bad for them because they had to dress a certain way in the heat and didn't get that things like zoos are closed at noon because it is too hot near the equator to safely run around at noon. I feared they'd get heat stroke and their faces would get very sunburned.
No tags, not “Mormon”
Short sleeves, used first names instead of Elder, men alone with a woman. Someone didn't do a bit of fact checking.
Good eye. They would also not have gone into a single woman's home.
CJ after the West Wing :)
Allison Janney is awesome.
I really liked this show and was sad to see the main character leave, which changed, to me, the whole dynamics of the show.
Remember: One person's Religion is another person's cult. The only thing separating any of them is the believer's faith.
Cult is more about the toxic group dynamic, than any particular belief.
It's about high control over members' thinking, doing, and knowing. It doesn't even have to have a spiritual component. MLMs can be cults, sometimes.
No. The difference is a cult does harm, that is the difference, always emotional, usually financial and quite often physical.
This is for being mean.
😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Pastor Jeff jr
You forgot the turnovers.
😂
Why are they drinking tea?
Can barely wait for the next fool to try an indoctrination on me! Lol, gonna get out a big pot and a cryptic looking recipe scroll😊
I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and my brother in law and his missionary companion were murdered while visiting in someone's house so I have every right to be offended by this. But I can still think this is funny.
Is she supposed to be high in this scene?
Yes, she abuses painkillers which were prescribed to her for a back pain.
@@monologues2222 Thanks. I don't watch the show. I think this clip was recommended to me because I watch a lot of Ex-Mormon channels.
@FlowerChild65 you should watch the show, it's really good.
When they came to my door I told them if I wanted to talk about Jesus Christ I would ask a REAL Christian. Never came back.
Did this actress used to be Elvira Mistress of the dark
No, Cassandra Peterson is Elvira and she's still doing the role. She recently revealed that she is now a lesbian. She's happy and doing well.
@@GCGomez thanks you so much!!!
Their Bible is the Book of Mormon
Not true.
That along with the Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, and occasionally, the King James Version of the Bible.
Nope. Bible and Book of Mormon.
Not true. Our Bible is the Bible. We also have other texts, including the Book of Mormon.
@@Jsmith2024the Bible is the only true word of God. No need for anything else.
Don’t mock the religions. I have friends and neighbors who are the Christians, the Mormons, the Hindu, the Jews, the Muslims, etc. If I see something inappropriate that they are mocking the religions. I turned off the television and I will have a great time with my friends and neighbors with hospitality.
If an idea can't stand being questioned by humorous intent then , I guess, that idea is not very strong or backed up by evidence. Religions of all sorts are just funny ideas and well worth being ridiculed, you know to help the proponents to come to a better well reasoned belief.
The majority of the Jewish jokes in movies and shows were written by Jews.
Mormons _are_ Christians, mi amigo. Admittedly, an interesting branch of Christianity, but Christian nevertheless. 😊
