Meet "Vintage_Toyssss"
In this episode, we sit down with Vintage_Toyssss, a dedicated TMNT enthusiast whose love for these iconic characters has translated into a modest yet impressive collection. With a focus on quality over quantity, Vintage_Toyssss has curated a selection of toys that showcases some of the most sought-after pieces in the TMNT universe.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Toy Line from Playmates
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toy line, produced by Playmates, first hit the shelves in 1988, riding the wave of the animated series' immense popularity. These toys quickly became a staple in the homes of children and collectors, captivating audiences with their vibrant designs, intricate details, and the rich lore of the TMNT universe.
From the original four turtles-Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael-to their iconic villains like Shredder and Krang, Playmates captured the essence of the TMNT world with remarkable accuracy. The initial wave of figures included not just the main characters, but also a range of supporting characters and unique variants, making it a diverse and exciting collection to chase.
Highlights of Vintage_Toyssss' Collection
As we tour Vintage_Toyssss' collection, we are treated to a fascinating array of TMNT figures. While the collection is modest in size, it boasts a few rare pieces that any TMNT fan would envy.
Original 1988 Figures: These are the crown jewels of the collection, featuring the first wave of TMNT figures in their original packaging. The vibrant colors and intricate detailing on these figures are a testament to Playmates' craftsmanship.
Rare Variants: Among the collection, we find some rare variants that were either limited in production or exclusive to certain regions. These variants often come with unique accessories and paint jobs, adding an extra layer of excitement for collectors.
Signed Pieces: A couple of figures are autographed by the original creators of the TMNT series, Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. These signed pieces add a personal touch to the collection and highlight the deep connection between the creator and the fan community.

Good collection or bad collection?
Finding this kinda thing interesting, normal peeps like me collecting, enjoying and sharing
Yeah, this was a nice change of pace, seeing a collection that's limited to one wall of display and someone who's much more modest and personal feeling gives a better idea of what collecting is actually like for most people I feel. Don't get me wrong, the big collections are cool to look at but in my experience they're more an exception then a rule.
Its a fine collection, even smaller ones are fine. I can admire massive collections but sometimes I think its becomes overwhelming. A lot of the collecting content I used to follow does not appeal to me as much as it used to, because is simply " here is how much money I spent at the store". But the story about his Dad giving him a Leo is great.
I like this type of collection
Great collection! Definitely more relatable to the not so hardcore collectors but he still has some great pieces that aren’t as common to see! I like seeing collection highlights like this too.
Hope you’re doing better!
🐢💥
Nice collection - with focus! See so many collectors chasing a million lines. Always wonder: what the hell’s going on here?
Worked in film & TV for 20 years now and all I can say is the audience doesn’t know what it wants… until you give it to them.
Just follow the story to wherever it takes you…
Respect. I feel at times that my collection won’t hold up agains other people’s collections, but I’m happy with what I have and that’s all that counts. 🙂🤙🏽
Good collection, he seems focused on what’s important to him and has limits set. I wish I could say the same for myself 😂 Was hoping for a little longer interview but still a fun mini episode. Feel better!
Hope you are feeling better today. 💜 The collection is 🔥 More chill. Does not give off OCPD vibes at all. 😆 No wrong way to collect. 🥰
There's definitely no wrong way to be an action figure collector/toy, do what bring$ you joy, it can be an addiction. If you can control it, at the end of your day it$ a fun hobby.
I think its a perfectly sized collection. Hes got quite a bit, but not out of control. Some of these massive collections I see just scream "I have a collection addiction". It takes self awareness and self control to keep it in check.
Nice collection!
We love toys and its community, big or small it’s still a collection:)👍👍
Sweet collection. Mine is around that size. Feels like a lot to me even though I know people go crazy big
I think there’s enough videos of toy shows from the collector’s perspective, especially from the big shows. I’d be more interested in seeing some interviews with vendors - how they feel when they sell a grail, is there some emotion/regret that it’s leaving their collection or do they just see it as a business transaction? Do they make any money from the shows? How much time is spent selling versus going around the show making deals and buying new stock? Any rivalries between vendors? Anybody they refuse to sell to? Oh - and get well soon!
I like even the fact that he focus on the OG. His collection is in sets of action figures like the talking turtles, the lil figures set , the super mutant figures. This is a good way to lock down on getting the action figures you want.
its not the size of your collection, its how you display it. :P
Heeeeyyy you’re totally right dude
Love your videos. Hope you feel better soon.
For Joefest: try to focus on International variants! Lots of cool ones for GI Joe
Hope you're feeling better by now.
good collection, he definitely has some gems and some good variety
Awesome video! Keep up the incredible job! I can relate to this collection, its honestly a collection like mine. I just collect the stuff I like and remember as a kid. Most of what I have is incomplete toys, its alot less expensive and I'm okay with that. Thank you for all of your videos, take care.
Great collection 🔥
A variety of collections, big or small. His has a good amount of collection, it would be great to see more individually filmed; make it worth while going there and filming for both of you. I like TMNT, but it can be any toy line; even vintage bootlegs, I grew up with them as my parents didn't earn much, but tried giving us a childhood like our friends.
My mother got me into Masters of the universe and ironically I still collect them yeah I did a video called collector's curse and yes it does creep up on you it can be relieve and a curse
Cool
It was great to see you at JoeFest. I’d say for me every con I go to, I always feel like I’m missing something. Maybe there’s a way to show how to best to navigate a toy show to get the most from the event? Love the work you do and always looks forward to seeing the all videos the you produce.
Cool collection and cool guy.
Great collection, just needs a better display, also cover that window! it'll fade your figures... love the classic stuff.
Great collection. Thank you for the video
Do you remember an 80s toy...Sky Commandos? They were yellow and black vehicles that youd attach a string to one point and the other end to another point and the vehicle would fly across the string...like a zip line. I never see any of the toys at shows or conventions and ive only come across one other person who knew what i was talking about. But as an 80s kid, i always gravitated towards the weird, lesser known toy lines i.e. supernaturals, those Tonka Toys post apocalypse vehicles with figures, Boglins etc but i had a few of Sky Commandos. But yea, i never see any youtubers talking about them, never seen any at any toy shops ..its like they disappeared with Spiral Zone lol
That's a good collection of turles.... definitely more than mine
Awesome show
Anyone with an OG Voltron has a healthy collectors view on toys.
More prototypes and early design figures. Like the pizza thrower that was orange instead of green and original sculpts. I wonder who have the early and unproduced earthworm jim,box art extreme Ghostbusters ecto 1 and kenner early prototype ecto 1 and proton pack. Basically stuff collectors have that they never shared lol
Cool.
The vintage stuffs cool and all but I definitely prefer the newer modern stuff with more articulation as a toy photographer, stop motion maker, customizer, diorama builder and ACBA artist.
interview Warriors of the hidden force an operation longbow guys please!
It's to much if you have unpaid builds , hungry . If all your grown man shit is handled then enjoy your life and appreciate that you can ! 💪
No is not a healthy that collection. You have to aim for more!
No longer have variant of figures. Let them all go. Got rid of alot of my stuff. :(
Keep filming people's collections
We need less tmnt... really would like to see different collectors
I disagree. If it’s not tmnt who cares 😂
Anything else would be a waste of time lol
@@TurtleC0mic nothing wrong with variety
What ur doing is wasting my time, bad vid.
You are the one wasting your time bud, just move on.
@@user-jp3vl5jx1j Yo, I don't do it often but when I really think someone has made a bad uninteresting vid, I'll damm well say it. U move on.
Aww you poor thing. Did you lose a few minutes of your time that you could have better spent watching meaningless video that you won’t remember 30 minutes later? 😂😂😂
You're already wasted...so your time is good😂
Thanks guys for pointing out how dumb his comment was
