The unique thing about Dante is hes exactly the polar opposite of what you'd expect from a protagonist in Japan. Hes the buttrock surfer cowboy while his brother Vergil is the poet Samurai and the antagonist.

I want you to not one thing about Dante here. This man makes all the cool guy moves and style. Without dropping any major curses or swears. He is just that cool. Doesn't need em.

Dante's opening in DMC3 is honestly one of the coolest video game intros. It's both badass in its badassery and stupid in its stupidity. The perfect mix.

Interesting note regarding Vergil's VA, Dan Southworth. By the time he had to come in to record his lines, he had a headcold, so his nose was stuffed up, and that changed how his voice sounded. But they liked it, so it stuck. Now, anytime Dan has to come back to voice Vergil, he has to try and emulate that nasally sound.

Ah yes, DMC3. The time where everyone loved The Matrix slow-motions in their action sequences. One of the best in the DMC franchise period.

I'm sure people have probably mentioned this, but just in-case, every chapter in DMC3 is numbered and there's a cutscene in the chapter that hides the number every time. Some of them are obvious and others are more subtle, but the number's always there as a fun little easter egg.

I love in the beginning you see the difference between Dante & Vergil's fighting styles! The game has a lot of art! One of the best video game rivalries of all time that actually inspired other games!

Their’s a saying among Devil May Cry and that’s “Nobody kills Cooler than Dante”

The sound of DMC3 Dante yelling "BLAST OFF" will forever be engrained in my mind from playing this game endlessly as a child.

My favourite thing about this cinematic for DMC3 is that when DMC4 came out my mom wouldn't let me get it cause it was rated M. I showed her this cinematic to convince her that it wasn't as bad as she thought and it worked. I played the shit outta DMC4.

Dante is definitely one of my favorite video game protagonists. He's badass as hell, but also cocky, funny, a bit of a show-off, and has that natural charisma.

I love how these cutscenes are so cinematic and the characterization is so theatrical, but without trying to be realistic or too much like a serious movie as most games nowadays do. It's fun, has its dark and emotional moments but there's not an ounce of pretentiousness in them.

The franchise has a lot of its lore explored in Manga, Anime, and Short Stories. Watching the game cinematics gives a great surface look, but most of the character development happens in the alternate media.

Ah you're gonna love the DMC series, it's full of a lot of metaphors, Vergil, sass, and LOTS OF TRASH TALKING.

I'm a game developer and I never caught the numbering scheme in the IGC's on my first few playthroughs as a kid even though I was practically studying most things I played. I LOVE that ya'll caught it. It's how the developer tells you which level you're about to start. Each level has a starting IGC and in it is a hidden number :)

Fun Fact: Vergil (Dantes twin Bro) is voiced by Daniel Southworth, the same actor who played as the Red Quantum Ranger Eric Meyers in Power Rangers Time Force ⏲

Fantastic. Can't wait for you both to get to Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 5. Next on the list is the original Devil May Cry so it may take a while, though!

Once you get your hands on 5, you'll see how much love was put in it. But you'll need to understand DMC 1, 3 and 4. I never put the comparison of Dante and Star-Lard, but I can see it. The tunes and the ego are definitely the same. Star-Lord is 80s rock, while Dante is more early 2000s. Also to clarify Star-Lord was never into the tunes as much as he was when he made is debut back in 2014, that was all James Gunn, then Marvel changed Star-Lord to match his MCU counterpart but kept his origin the same. Dante is more Deadpool, as in he never takes anything seriously and he's practically immortal. Also nice on the creator of the video lining up Vergil's and Dante's story as one. Yeah, back in 2005, this was Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening, set 10 years before the events of DMC 1. Fast forward a year later, re-released as Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition, which added in Vergil's story. Glad you're enjoying this, and look forward to your journey of DMC 3.
