I personally try to not drop anything down inside the door itself because it can rattle depending on what it is. Probably won’t rattle in the frame regardless I wouldn’t do that nor would I like seeing one of my employees do that. With that said good job on the install. Thanks for sharing.
Nice video. That mickey mouse drill you were using at first wasn't gettin' the job done eh?! Maybe also try using some dedicated bits rather than the interchangeable bits on the 12 foot adaptor. Thanks for sharing the video! Gave me a nice trick with cutting into the bottom laterally to get a piece out so you can do the vertical cut ;)
Hi Drew, I am still doing this type of work but I’ve been moved into more of an administrative role recently. I never expected this video to get anymore than 10 views but perhaps if I find myself back on installation I’ll post some more videos. Maybe with some actual editing and voiceover lol. Thanks for checking back in!
You’re absolutely right. Thanks for noticing that. I’ll be changing the title to the correct model of 1500. I install 5000’s more often so I guess that came to me subconsciously.
This install was at a government facility where they still required masks even after Covid was on the let down. As you may notice I wasn’t wearing it “properly” at times lol
I love the fact that this is a FULL video no skips. Very helpful thanks!
Super Helpful! I have to install some of these and you just saved me the time of figuring out the easiest way to do it. Thanks!
Great video. Love watching videos like this. Thank u!
Good job

What manufacturer of blades do you use?
I’ve only tried Milwaukee, Dremel, Diablo and Ryobi blades. Dremel has worked the best for me in this application.
What gauge wire do you use to extend the door strike wires?
I use 18g thermostat wire
We run 18/2 stranded for our door strikes.
Why no more videos? Are u still doing this kind of work?

Milwaukee Lock Jaws
Awesome I really appreciated the response
Excellent install
Who's gonna watch a fire now?
Use a strike cut template and don’t waste time
Good point. I do get paid hourly though 😂
That is NOT the HES 5000 strike.

Soy boy masker
Quite the opposite, was just obeying mandates for the facility at the time. Thanks for watching though.
Throwing garbage into the door frame doesn’t look professional.
Everybody does it. Calm down
Oh, so I guess it’s fine then.
@mariuskaizerman of course it is
so where do you dump your shit? IN THE TOILET!!! Same idea!
very unprofessional. I must agree !
Why are you wearing a mask?
Covid 23
This install was at a government facility where they still required masks even after Covid was on the let down. As you may notice I wasn’t wearing it “properly” at times lol
