There’s also confidence to potential buyers if you were to sell if things were done professionally. I would never buy a porsche without a service record!

Thanks for sharing. I have a similar C4 lapis blue manual 996
    Used as daily driver.
Put about 7K in it first year to sort everything out.
AOS front full suspension and a few other odds and ends as well as basic maintenance.
After that next 2 years nothing but oil changes and runs flawless.
Beautiful machine and will serve you well if you keep up with maintenance.

nice things cost money. It's a great looking car and I'm sure worth every penny! Thank you so much for the transparent video. Great to know what we're in for with a "new" 996.

Good information. Learning a lot from your videos. Porsches are great cars but not cheap to maintain. Like you, if I can DIY I will, if not then I have to go to my dealer and pay him $225 an hour for the labor.

Once you get it dialed in, the big repairs are far between.

Nice informative video. Curious what kind of head unit (and cost) you put in. Thanks

Just a standard Kenwood w/ Carplay. I think altogether it was about $350 installed

All goes down as of how much you paid for the car. If 35K, scary. But if you paid 22 and now 8 for updates, not bad at all.

Did it need a clutch at 80,000 miles? Yikes. I have always thought they would last about 100,000. IMS would have been fine. I agree but when you sell it....DID YOU REPLACE THE IMS questions won't stop coming in.

My hope was 100k as well, but 80 is what I got, sadly. And yes, peer pressure made me do the ims.

If he bought it in early 2023, should not have paid more than $23k for a cab...the cab's are the 2nd least desirable 996 (a cab with tip IS the least desirable)
However, if he paid $22 or $23K and put $8k into it, he is now upside down as that car is absolutely not a $30k car and won't be for until at least 2028.
But my educated guess is that he paid probably just under $20K for the car.

This is what it cost ME for MY car in America in 2023. This video is all correct. Want to tell people what it cost YOU? Make your own video!

@husmanbros im simply using my right to comment. This isn't a true cost of owning a 996. The 996 is a good and cheap car to have until the engine fails. If you are spending your money on some luxury mechanic's it doesnt translate to the 996 prices its the mechanics
