Not sure why but ever time I hear the "WHAT'S GOIN ON GROWERS" I get so hyped lol
Let’s GO!!
You are an inspiration and great teacher! Our gardens are better than ever because of you! Hey, Tuck ♥️.
True me too. Always sure it's something interesting
victor diaz incle me too!!!! Kristy in Missouri 😃
His quick little animated intro cracks me up! Part of my favorite part(s). I love the intro music I dig too! Dude knows a ton about gardening and loves all his fruit and veggies!
Tuck is just the cutest little guy, he must be so healthy with all the veggies he eats while you film 😂🥬🥒🥦🥕
Sending huge vegie & fruity loves to you and Tuck.....❤🍑❤🐶❤🐾❤🍓❤
You enthusiastic approach to growing is so inspiring and contagious. I have learnt so much from your channel. Hi Tuck!
same!!
Thanks Tuck for making this vid 💕. It was nice of you to let that James guy share some of your veggies.
I donate my excess to the food bank. It is a good idea for backyard gardeners and it helps the comunity.
Me and Tuck love to hear that Ben, thank you for doing that and for sharing with us ❤️😁
You're my inspiration. This morning I took a stroll through the garden and picked a salad of baby kale, beet tops, spinach, snow peas, some basil and green onion tops, all growing right among the perennials and some in containers. And a handful of purslane for dessert :)
Sounds like u have a nice spread
Absolutely the best-your enthusiasm is to relish and enjoy-keep up the good work,, Tones
Chris Reher I have all of those in my garden too! And thanks for mentioning purslane cuz it totally left my mind. I couldn’t think of the name when I was showing it to a friend! I’m in Missouri 6b. Sounds like same zone maybe? - Kristy in Missouri 😃
@@markkristynichols845 I'm in Missouri 6b also, southwestern. Our gardening start was slow, due to way too much rain in a short time. But most things are looking good. We've been having mixed leaf salads for several days. We still have a lot to learn about gardening.
We’ve got Tuck’s twin at our house. His name is Buddy. He’s an MVP also! Tuck is awesome❤️❤️❤️!
I keep hearing your voice in the back of my mind saying “start now” and the best time to start your food forest is years ago 😂 You have inspired me to go more into the food forest style and put 5 Missouri wild plums into my garden! Kristy 😃 HEY TUCK!!! 😘😘 puppy kisses to you!!!
Hi Tuck! You do such a great job protecting the garden. This channel has us gardening. You are a true inspiration, James!!
Tuck said thank you :)
Tuck is so cute, and definitely works hard to earn his veggies 💜
He sure does! 🐶
it AMAZES me how you are already eating from your garden!! AND.......i can tell from your video that you are in the middle of a residential area!! just mind blowing!! hi Tuck! i’d hide away from the heat too!! 🥰
When tuck ate that carrot my heart was so happy
We love you Tuck! 😍 please let us know when you're willing to do garden tours, id love to meet you and Tuck both and just observe the beauty you've created!
Cassidy Addison I’ll meet you there! We can work for free and help him harvest all those strawberries! 🍓
We can be James and Tuck WWOOFers, if you are familiar with the concept.
My absolute favorite gardener. I am also from Jersey so I pay very close attention to everything you say. Thank you so much for the great information.
You are so welcome!
When. Was your last frost In Jersey. I'm not far but I feel like my garden is a good 1.5 months behind what I see here.
I watch your garden for inspiration and for relaxation. I just love Tuck...never seen a dog eat vegetables. It is just amazing to watch Tuck eat them.
Tuck is ON-THE-JOB! It is wonderful that he has the opportunity to eat so many fresh healthy veggies; he should have a long healthy life.
This is my "Happy Place" Thank You for shareibg it with us💋💋💋
James I love your Garden. Always evolving and forever growing! You inspired me long ago to go and grow. I Bought 31 acres and started my Garden Bed! I'm busy Vlogging these days and doing my You Tub channel. Just wanted to personal thank you for the BOOST! Your the Best SIR!
Wow! How much are you planting? I subscribed to your channel!
I find myself smiling during the whole video cuz Tuck is just so cute😁Love you Tuckey 💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚💙💚🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕🥕 I love berries too❤️
The garden wouldn't be the same without little Tuck. What a sweetie!! Hugs
"They" were so wrong.
Looking fantastically amazing James!
Give Tuck a scratch. 💕
Tuck sure loves his Dad!!,......My neighbor’s are blown away by how well my garden looks, and I direct them straight to your channel. Thanks for all the great vids and knowledge.
Of course we're here to watch Tuck! I "rescue" and started my gardens because it gave me more to do outside with my pups. No fun when we're all stuck in the house all winter! A man who loves animals must be a great guy!
As a Jersey Girl and life-long gardener, this is by far my favorite gardening channel! And Tuck’s cuteness warms my heart! 💕 keep up the good work!
James is very inspirational. I enjoy seeing Tuck join in on the gardening
James, you inspired me so greatly! I planted 5 X as much as I did last year. I have planted 3 fruit trees, 5 berry bushes, 3 new grapevines, i made two mounds, and have planted 9 new rows of veggies.
Last year we had a really good year for lettuce, this year almost none. This year we are going to have a plethora of squash, last year we could not get the flowers pollinated! We had 2 tomatoes last year, this year my bushes are heavy laden!
I think the most important thing I have learned so far is use your own compost!
Thank you ever so much for sharing your food forest with us!!!
James, big fan of your channel, I think your concept is awesome!
I was wondering if you could do a video on your pest control methods? I've got everything else down but struggle often with pests. This year has been extra difficult since the winter we had in NJ wasn't really cold enough to kill off bugs over-wintering in the ground. Currently trying to fight off black beetles, aphids, and something that keeps destroying the roots of my okra plants.
Try essential oil against pest, Lady buds can help too, they eat greenflies
Neem oil is the bomb
I lost most of my eggplant this year to black beetles. Aphids on my roses were easy to control. I blast the new growth tips with water about once a day. the aphids take all day to find their way back and spend less time eating and mating lol.
Newleaf, I had the same problem with the black beetles on my jalapeños, they had almost completely destroyed them before I treated them with sevin dust. That's when my aphid problem started 🤦🏾♂️ didn't know that sevin kills off all the natural aphid predators as well. I got some dr bronners castile soap now, I hear that it works well to combat aphids.
Cabbage moth attacking your roots? maybe?
Hi James,
Thank you for all of these videos! I am learning so much from you! This year, half my garden is in pots because I'm anticipating a summer move. So far, lots of radishes, green onions, and potted basil. My Ricki dog does patrol around the gardens every day. She's old, but still loves to chase the squirrels up their trees, just like Tuck. He is so adorable by the way! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
James, your food forest is looking amazing... Did somebody say "strawberries"... Thank you for all you are teaching us, and inspiring us to get out and give it a go... Tuck is awesome, and it looks like he sure enjoys the fruits of his labor... Does anybody else watch all the ads so this guy gets paid... He deserves it... Thank you again...
i love watching your food forest flourish. ive learned and applied so many concepts from your channel !
lol 6:00 talking about carrots, "look at that carrot (guy)" Should have said "brah" lol
I know yorkies are very smart! Its awesome to see you gave Tuck a chance to show off how capable he is and how much understanding dogs have. I smiled to hear you say you are just crazy enough to plant more strawberries! Your forrest looks beautiful!...and delicious!
You give me hope. You are harvesting while I just planted seeds for the second time because NOTHING came up the first time. I planted over 20 packs of seeds. Nothing. With these videos, I will figure out what's going on/wrong. I WILL have a garden like yours, though much smaller due to less space. I had NO trouble gardening in Colorado my whole life, but moving to NW Washington, I thought it would be magnificent. It's not. I have gone full-bore against slugs (using 8 different methods), so I am hoping they were my problem and these next seeds will grow. I have a little guy like Tuck who also chases off intruders and eats vegetables, too. I have a hard time keeping him out of the compost because it smells SO good! (to him)
Wow, Your garden is Probably one of the most awesome ones I’ve seen on CZcams. I love you your personality and of course Tuck, but I don’t watch it for Tuck. However good to know he is your garden guard dog, lol. Love all the Knowledge you shared and I just want to say thank you. I love your channel. I live in Texas and my gardens already suffering from the heat. I’m so jealous your garden just looks amazing and because of the Texas heat my cucumbers are already dead
Linda Renken The pain of summer came early didn’t it?? RIP to my squash😂😫
It is awesome, and I love watching James and Tuck, but you should also watch Charles Dowding's No-Dig Gardening. Absolutely wow!!!
I enjoy your content and I'm learning lots. Started my 1st garden in several years... just east of Atlanta, GA. Love the idea of a food forest!
Great job, Tuck ❤❤❤🐶
Krystin me too! We are in Covington!
-Hollie (not Ryan)
I'm in West Georgia!
Oh so sweet those bright shinny eyes with a few speck of dirt around the nose on the fur little Tuck. Thanks for the tour looking great James.
I bet you can't wait to get up in the mornings to get out into your fabulous garden. Soo many strawberries and the blueberries impossibly abundant. Gotta say your pallet raised beds look really really smart - all that linseed oil really makes the wood look classy with just a hint of rustic. Bet those cabbage leaves look great with an evening light shining through. Darling Tuck so good and working so hard eating his carrot..
We love Tuck so much , I bought a Yorkie pup for my hubby! Dixie likes going to the garden with us already!!! Thanks for all the great info you share.
You’re so right that tuck earns his share 😊☺️ and partially right that we’re here for tuck 😉 *please* revisit tying tomatoes! 🍅 this is my first year growing anything. (I have a container garden) I have 4 tomatoes plants and I think it might be time to give them support!
Hey James, just wanted to say I started a small food forest in my backyard because of your videos. 60 cubic yards of wood chips and 6 fruit trees. Thanks for being such an inspiration.
I understand what you mean about the garden being almost like a pet. Watching something grow to fruition is a lovely feeling knowing that the food on the table was looked after by me.
Hi James! I really enjoyed your videos on gardening and little doggy, Tuck! ❤️ I really wish I could have a backyard like yours, but I stayed in apartment. I tried to grow some vegetables like ginger, eggplants, peppers as well, does not grow that well due to hot weather..
Fully charged as always James!
Tuck is the best thing that has ever happened. He's the best boy in the whole world.
🐶Tuck deserve all the rewards because of his year round hard work protecting the garden. 🐕
I love tick! Your Chanel is awesome, I really like how you show us your harvest, your garden has an abundance of food. You are a fantastic gardener . Thank you for sharing your process
💕💕💕 hearts for Tuck!! I'm so amazed at your strawberries. Do you have a video on strawberry production? My strawberries produce so little but it's only been in around 3 years, 4th this year. (Just saw the strawberry video you posted a year ago, thanks!)
James! I love your style! Especially the way you start your videos: Straight and to the point. Very direct. No crutch words. You know exactly what you're trying to say. Keeps me watching your videos when other gardeners have an equally long video with half the content!
Love your channel, your food forest, AND of course, the star of the show TUCK! He’s such a good boy! ❤️🐾❤️🐾❤️
Hi James! The last few videos, I've been trying to put my finger on why your original food forest looks different this season. Other than adding a lot of the raised beds, did you thin out some of the fruit trees? It seems there are fewer of them.
Either way, I love the food forest you've created. I'm well on my way. Planted a couple of plum trees, a fig and a cherry to go along with my current cherry, pear, peach, apple and almond trees. The blueberries suddenly took a dive, so I dug them out and put them in pots for this year until I can find another spot for them. My strawberries (Allstar and Quinalt) are multiplying like crazy and producing beautifully. I've already picked 3 quarts of blackberries with lots more still ripening and the raspberries haven't made it to the house yet, lol, too yummy to let them get that far. I'm finding asparagus in far flung corners of my yard - not sure how they're getting there other than birds? But enjoying the spread.
I'm doing lots of revamping of the yard this year, including hardscapes, so all of my veg have been put in pots setting on tarps this year. Ate my first cherry tomatoes yesterday! Everything is growing well, blooming, producing and, knock on wood, haven't seen any bugs yet. Thinking of hitting them all this week with a preventative shot of Neem.
Is there anything else you use on your fruit trees other than the kaolin clay? I've lost the last 2 years of peaches due to the curculio. Lost all of my almonds this year too. From my research, they hit plum, peach, cherry and almond trees and I'd like to try to fight them off a little harder. My pears haven't been hit by them, though. In fact, I've discovered this year that the two pear trees have different bloom times, so that explains why I'm not getting any pears. One of the trees had ONE bloom when the other was blooming, so I played bumble bee with my little paintbrush and now I have ONE pear on the first tree and a couple dozen on the other! YAY!
Thank you for the inspiration. I wouldn't have gotten this brave without your enthusiasm and encouragement.
Diana - Georgia, Zone 8A
Wow! Another Georgia Gardner, like me. Covington.
Great Job Diana, I’m on my second year of my food forest. Going slow in zone 6a.
@@ryanandholliebust1916 Porterdale here, lol.. We're neighbors!
Lololol. Small world!!!
I have a hella time with raspberries! (MS gulf coast zone 8b-9a). Blackberries grow great.
Tuck is the most contented puppy I've ever seen
I finally started on some permanent investments towards my own food forest thanks to your channel. I have several acres of land devoted to cattle but your channel inspired me to take advantage of smaller areas to begin my journey towards a food forest! Fruit trees have been on the list for years and watching so many of your videos through this winter finally got me motivated to get them in the ground this year. Thanks for your contributions and information, and of course a special shout out to Tuck!
You're an AMAZING and very inspirational young man. My 1st garden in my 54 years is absolutely flourishing because of you and of course prayers !! Thank you James. Carry on !!
That shot of Tucks face just plopped on the dirt, keepin an eye on things........ It was almost too much
So true 😍
Big nose kisses to Tuck - he's the real star of this show.
TUCK---TUCK ---TUCK... YEA TUCK! Such a cute wee dog.
...LOL
LOVE THIS CHANNEL...thank you for all your inspiration on how to make a food forest. Those berries look so delicious .
It's always such a pleasure to come in from a day in the garden and watch you in your spectacular food forest. It is just gorgeous and inspiring. Love your enthusiasm and spirit. Love Tuck. He takes his job seriously and enjoys his rewards so much!
❤️tuck
James, your bowls are not doing the job-with a big garden you need a big solution-perhaps a large basket or two...
James, great job ! you have such a beautiful healthy garden. There’s no better fruits and vegetables than the ones we grow in own own garden.Grown with love, care and dedication.Fresh and organic- 100% healthy.Love your videos, thank you 👍🙏🏽😁
Tuck is well mannered. He doesn't dig up your garden to get the carrots or other veggies. 🥰
"They said a garden like this Would Never Work"
Just a question, who said that sir ? Neighbors ? Family? Friends ?
peace
Haha! Maybe the voices?
It’s funny how many people take the time to come out of the woodwork, when you start making it known what you plan to do/are working on, so they can tell you(without being asked for their opinion,) “you’ll never be able to do that, it won’t work, that’s not possible.”
Don’t listen, they’re full of it!
I have many of them at my local community garden. Others then ask me, “is that true? are you still going ahead with this?”
I tell them, “they don’t know what they are talking about and nobody tells me what I can do!”
;D keep up the hard work!
Click bait
Just a clickbait title sadly
I always wonder who this “they” are that said this would never work? I love this channel but I’ve never seen anything that I can imagine anyone questioning would work.
Greetings from Maine, Zone 5B. We ordered grapes this year to add to our gardens, and built an arbor, thanks to this channel. Thanks, James & Tuck - greatly appreciate this channel
Wow tooo much strawberry to harvest😍 the veggies and fruits are blooming😊 cant wait to watch you picking them😍 hope tuck 🐕will live longerrrrr😍
Who the hell is "they" lol
Shhh, they don't like getting talked about.
“They” prob everyone
I like listening to you, I don't feel so weird anymore. No one I know understands my passion for plants!
Hi James! I just found your videos about three weeks ago. I have watched so many now and I'm envious of your food forests! I have learned quite a lot and I love watching you and Tuck on every video. It is amazing to see Tuck enjoy the fruits of his labor and actually enjoy his carrots. I wish my dog loved his veggies as much as Tuck. Thank you James for taking the time to share your wonderful food forests and your growing techniques with us. Keep up the great work!
Watching this makes me so happy, this is the life I want to live!! Sending love to your little pal Tuck. What a cutie💕
Here Tuckie, good boy! What an excellent little art director you make. James the food forest is singing!
❤️❤️❤️
its nice to hear that I am not the only one looking at my plants just for fun... my neighbours and even my kids think I am starting to get crazy ;) Here in the north of Sweden we have gooseberries and currant in almost everyones gardens.
Tuck. Guardian of the Garden. Yaay. 💕❤️💗💜💓💖❣️💕💗💞💓💖💜❤️🧡💛🥰😍😘😻💞💕💗❤️💓💖💜💛🧡💞🧙🏼♀️🌊🛶🇨🇦
I come to listen to your videos not just for gardening advice and to watch the amazing harvests, but just as much to see Tuck. I love his little cooling spot and I also love the way you say he earns his keep by protecting the garden from critters. He must be pretty fierce to deal with ground hogs. I have a little rat terrier and he's pretty fierce too but I'm afraid to let him tangle with the neighborhood groundhog because it's bigger than he is - should I worry so much? You are doing the best job on this channel James - good for you!
Good morning. You are a wonderful person. I every day see the videos. Your sweet spirit and your optimism in life is sweeter . I see your accomplishments with a sense of great joy in every day.
LOL!!! Tuck 'running away' with his carrot. 😊❤
The lettuce looks so clean and delicious , excited to grow that!
Hey Tuck and James. You've inspired me with my garden. I've got 3 different figs, a gorgeous New Zealand plum that's like a mango, a dwarf Satsuma mandarin and dwarf Maya Lemon, a Cape gooseberry that's still fruiting, 3 different blueberry bushes, a blackberry and getting another different black berry. I love blackberries. I want to make a food forest on a 3rd of my 1/4 acre section. I also have helpers in my garden, 2 tiny Maltese and a Std Poodle. I love watching your videos and seeing what you are doing, seeing tuck eating his vege's. I'm so inspired. Yeah, I don't mind your longer videos, they're always interesting. Thanks
So inviting to follow your walk through the Food Forest around the strawberries, fruit trees and grapevines. Inspiring and a real treat for this SE Ohio backyard gardener.
James and Tuck, I'm so jealous! I live in an apartment in the city but I do have a decent size patio. I put in 2 raised beds this year and have a bunch of stuff planted. It looks great to me until I see your garden then I realize I'm way behind in terms of growth and production. Next year I'm planting double and I'm doing seedlings instead of direct sowing! Your garden is AMAZING! Congrats to you and Tuck.
My husband and I have been watching all the videos! We love Tuck. We hope one day we have the space to to have an amazing food forest!!!!
Mate, Tuck runs the channel. You're getting a part in the show, and you could thank him for that. :-)
Very nice of Tuck to let you in his garden 😊👍 such a nice puppy.
Gooseberries are also not very well known in the US because they were ILLEGAL. They're still illegal in some areas, because they are a vector for white pine blister rust. In Kerala, they're called nellika, they make awesome pickles with them.
I used to watch you when I was a young teenager learning to garden. I eventually stopped for some reason but now your videos are helping me and some friends plan the farm part of an off the grid homestead
I can't believe how amazing your soil is under the mulch! When you lifted it a little under the blueberry bush it looked so dark and loose. Good job!
Tuck is such a little sweetie. Thanks James you are awesome!
Tuck is so cute, and definitely works hard. Love you Tuck.
Absolutely love Tuck!🐕 he is the cutest! 😊🤗👍
I also have a garden friend named Tucker! He is a bit bigger than your Tucker. He’s a Golden Retriever. He loves coming out with me to check the garden. We have second year blueberry bushes that are loaded with fruit. I have to protect them from the birds. I have a huge cherry tree that the birds love. Lots for them, us and many of our neighbors. Thanks for suggesting gooseberries! I want to try them next year!
Awe poor tuck he too cute for this weather garden is looking wonderful 😍🐶💙
I can see you don’t have a bird problem must be because of chuck. He really is a dear wee dog. Love your channel.
❤'s & 🥕's for Tuck❣🐕🥰
Beeeeauiful garden. So inspired ❣
Oh man James I didn't want this video to end😭😭. Oh tuck my little boy you are a blessed dog
Hi James; I love your appreciation and enthusiasm for gardening. It is extremely inspiring and contagious. I appreciate all the work that you put into the videos that you make. I am addicted to your videos. I love you and Tuck and love seeing him in the garden snacking. 😍😍❤🧡
I’m sooo in love with your food forest. It amazing to see the dedication you have to constantly developing your food
Berries are my absolute favorite as well, and it must be genetic because my 3 year old son goes nuts for them. It makes up most of his diet. Seriously he doesn’t even like cakes or desserts, for his very small amount of birthdays so far he’s just requested berries, especially strawberries. My parents have a pair of 3 year old blueberry bushes that are producing SO much and they love nothing more than to have him come over and eat them off the plant - he uses both hands to pick and alternate shoving in his mouth LOL! I have so many food growing goals but for now we only have space for a few things. One of the things I am determined to grow is black cap raspberries, I literally obsess on it even though I don’t even have the plants or space yet 😂😂. Yours look great!! And those strawberry patches, my jaw dropped! Watching your videos is so enjoyable and inspiring, thank you for sharing your knowledge and we ALWAYS love to see ❤️Tuck❤️ munch on his fresh veggies. What a noble little garden protector!
I can't believe this is all on less than half an acre! Amazing!!! Also, I was hoping to see a cat fly through that peach tree😁😁
Garden looks AMAZING! Good job Tuck! 💜
Yes definitely show us how to properly tied tomatoes this is my second year of gardening and let me tell you I almost have eight different varieties of vegetables and they’re all flowering and doing good I’m pruning and doing everything you taught me thank you so much for these videos and Tucker is awesome I wish I had a little dog like him I have a senior dog she doesn’t like to be out in the sun all day
As I watch this, I just finished up my lunch. Sauted Kale with a few chard and red veined sorrel mixed in. All from my own bitsy garden. So so yummy. This year I'm adding more perennials. Thank you for the encouragement you always provide.
Tuck is soooo cute. Your garden is my inspiration. I love how you got food all spread out. It’s not like all of one vegetable is in one area.
