  • Enjoy the evening fishing trip out of Port Washington, WI! We landed a 50# double header and enjoyed great action all evening long! Salmon Candy flashers and flies were the ticket for a mixed bag of fish.

    Awesome videos! I'm a new subscriber and I will be checking out all your videos! Just starting to learn on how to fish Lake MI since that use to be my home town lake. Looking at getting a bigger boat and hitting the big pond some day, so I am looking at what I all need for a setup and how to fish it. So far your videos have given me great tips. Keep the videos coming!!!!

    Great teamwork. I'd suggest for those long runners to carry a drill. And use that to drill them in because the reel turns into a very slow ratio when you have that much line out. You will reel 10 turns and barely get a few feet in

    I know you never had any diver fish on the video. But as wondering what guidelines you use for depth on normal and mag divers. I’m new to Diver fishing and was wondering if I use the chart provided with the Diver or another rule of thumb. Like if the Diver is on a 1.5 setting you follow a 2:1 rule. Line out to depth? It’s confusing what to follow Love the videos! From Lake Ontario Canada

    • @RussellsFishingTech
      @RussellsFishingTech  Před 4 lety +1

      Curtis Puckrin normal about 3 to 1 mags about 2 to 1
      So if you put a mag out 100 it’s down about 50

    how do you combat the current taking your boards out of position when structure trolling or following a depth contour? Thinking more about eye fishing on GB. Great video.

    • @RussellsFishingTech
      @RussellsFishingTech  Před 4 lety

      Fisher Haag that’s a tough one you will have to choose the structure contour or all the rods looking good. May have to setup on an angle that allows you to stay on the contour as long as possible while keeping the rods straight

    Explain pump handle?

    • @pauld4123
      @pauld4123 Před 4 lety

      Looks like they were using a big snap weight just in front of flasher. Maybe with mono instead of using leadcore with the boards?

    • @TheMayfly87
      @TheMayfly87 Před 4 lety +2

      A pump handle refers to trolling with a lead ball as a delivery method. The ball can vary from 8oz 10oz 12oz or 16oz. An the depth is controlled by how much line is set between the lead ball an the planer board.
      This is an incredibly effective method of fishing alot of flasher flys because pump rods are all rigged the same spooled with braid an generally a 25# leader so every rod can be used at any depth.
      The lead balls are generally attached about 30 feet above the flasher with a OR16 clip for quick removal once the fish is behind the boat.

      @@TheMayfly87 great explanation. One question is there a formula to calculate the depth by the amount of line out. Thanks Mike.

    @jayrobertson232 Před 3 lety

    Get your hands off the kid’s line! You’re not helping anything; if you want to help the youngsters increase their landing percentages, tighten up the drag to about 5 lbs, slow the kicker to about 1.0 mph, get other lines out of the way and net the dam fish.
