whothebitchnowsucka I'm sure glad they beat overrated Stanford, but watch out for Wiscy next year, if they have a better QB under center, they could be a sleeper.
Yeah sooooo 2019 was pretty bad too. But 2020 isn’t too bad, I mean, we don’t lose a single game the whole year! But in hindsight we have a virus, the world gets shut down, there are mass protests over civil rights, there is marching, nothing but negativity gets reported. BUT we don’t lose a single game so we have that! Didn’t even realize I commented but just wanna say, GO GREEN! And GOOD BYE HARBAUGH!!(I am assuming they will fire him) but to the future viewer who may see this, we ended up having a season even with the pandemic. We beat Michigan and the #5 Northwestern Wildcats. And even better Michigan lost to winless Penn State. In this/my day Northwestern is usually like the ‘Harvard’ or smart school of the big ten and Penn State is usually ranked in the Top 25
Greatest win ever in two decades of football, and such an awesome game to experience as a Spartan fan. I'm so proud of this football team because they worked their asses off all season long as lots of people were doubting them and saying bad things about them all year long. Well guess what? Michigan State won the Rose Bowl against a very strong and experienced Stanford team that beat Oregon earlier in college football of 2013. That's saying something about this football program for MSU. Go Green!!!!
I was there with my wife and our five-month-old son. Never will forget that final 4th down, Kyler Ellsworth, all that green at the Rose Bowl going absolutely nuts. Best Spartan game of my lifetime.
Just re-watched it. This game never gets old. A historic win - 100th Rose Bowl - the last one to be played in the Big Ten vs. Pac Ten format. Glad I was there! Will never forget running around the stadium afterwards looking for some kind of souvenir. Spartan fans bought up everything and then even the Rose Bowl placards were being sold for $20.
I’m 83+ yrs old. For me, any video/audio(anything memorializing a Rose Bowl victory by MSU)- - -sign me up for that, particularly if it involves a pathway whereby we wiped the noses in the dirt of a UM team wishing to be here instead of us!!
13:40 I remember my mom, sister, and I flew out to this game and we got to sit right between the goal posts in the end zone of the game winning touchdown we are the ones holding up that MTO sign. Truly a magical moment that I will remember for the rest of my life.
Jimmini the Critic My father passed away in 2009 and MTO was his initials. He went as a student in 88 and it was on his bucket list to go back. My Mom, my sister and I went back for him in 2014.
YoakleyBeast 3377 Oh my gosh! Here I am thinking it’s just a cool sign with a simple meaning, but it’s so much more. I’m sure your dad was a wonderful man and I’m also sure he’s in heaven right now looking down on you guys and being so proud, not just cause you held up a sign, but because you held up him All his life and even when he was gone. You guys are legends for doing that. God bless
+Chris Hebert "You're a douchebag." Was all that spelled correctly and, concerning you, correct in and of itself? By the way, you should have said "have" at the end of your first comment. Learn grammar.
I remember how disappointed the Big 10 Commissioner was at the Big 10 Championship that year. Ohio State was playing for a spot in the College Football Championships, and MSU was going for their first Rose Bowl since 1988. And Michigan State simply outplayed the Buckeyes to get their prize. The Commish was hardly very professional, unable to hide his downer just before and even during the Big 10 trophy ceremony. 😂
Auburn had FSU down by 18 and blew it because they had no pass defense. MSU was in the same situation its game over. Your not coming back from a double digit deficit against the number 1 defense in the country and they would ran the ball and milked the clock like a cow ( msu is aka moo u ) and would have been national champions.
@@paulgrieshop5024 oh yeah osu was the only one to kinda pass on them and then msu went back into lockdown mode... and Jeremy lamb and that o-line was running threw everyone not to mention cook was a legit qb before his injury in his final year with solid recievers that msu team was loaded and got screwed over
@@noteminemsburneraccount324 Cook was a great Quarterback he got injured in his senior season and that really hurt him. The big 10 championship game. Pat Narduzzi came down from the booth and the defense was lights out. Just like Bear Byrant with his tower during practice you didn't want the bear to leave the tower until practice was over.
We are signing the athletes. This scheme AND coaching by Narduzzi was unreal. What happens in the Peach Bowl? We defeat Narduzzi and PITT with a somewhat pedestrian defense. Absolutely HORRIBLE secondary.
Rose Bowl to me is always a big game. great stop on 4th down to win the game but I watched that play twice. there is no one covering the outside. not taking anything away from Michigan State though. die hard Oregon fan here but I still for the life of me don't get why when the box is stuffed like that teams go up the middle.
I've said the same thing since the play happened live! Listen close and you can here MSU staff yelling "No!!!!!" for that spot. Horrible spot. But without that spot Stanford probably passes on 4th and 2. Who knows what happens from there.
@@mixa7039 that was 2015 not 2013 MSU had the best defense in the country that year in all categories run, pass and points scored. Florida State won the national championship that year and would have killed Alabama that year Obama couldn't beat a team with no defense like Auburn and Oklahoma
Agree with you the best defense in the country they lost to Notre Dame on some shady referee calls and they beat a great Ohio State team that year that hadn't lost a game in 2 years
Oh please. That FSU is one of the greatest teams in CFB history. They murdered everyone aside from Auburn. MSU would not have put up enough points against FSU.
The only good team they beat outside of the ship was Clemson. I'm not saying they weren't great and I'm not saying MSU for sure would have beat them. However they're not one of the greatest teams ever. They didn't play enough good teams to be called that.
And who did MSU beat? OSU and Stanford are not better wins than Clemson and Auburn. MSU had several games against weak opponents where they struggled. Putting up 14 points against Minnesota and Purdue shows no indication they would have beaten FSU. MSU was a very good team but there is no way they would have scored enough points.
I think the "D" was key to MSU going to the Rose Bowl and winning. No question the offense was good as well. I don't know who exactly we are going to lose, except Darquez Dennard for sure. I have confidence in our coaching staff to bring the fresh guys up to speed.
You’ll have more time to reshow big plays if you don’t spend 2 minutes on pregame 👎 Damn near 30 minutes and you missed touchdowns and big plays lol Terrible highlight
I love watching this game because I get to see Mike Sadler smiling and laughing in flashes of clips. RIP #3 Spartan Nation misses ya
"folks we've got an underdog howling" Only MSU can be an underdog when they are #4 playing #5
And when they were a 12-1 team and had just beat the #2 team in the country in their previous game.

No they didn't. The best team won that year. Championship teams don't make excuses.
Agree. Ohio State would have played for a championship if they had beat state. Won every big ten team by ten points or more
Mike Jones if there had been a 4-team playoff that year......

Michigan State = The only team with balls from the Big 10

Yep, that same Wiscy
Caleb Arbour Thanks, man! I sure hope we're MSU of last year, as Michigan will probably underachieve. I've always disliked Michigan.
Well
See ya in the big ten championship!!
Coming here to soothe my soul after the train wreck season of 2016
2017 is already looking up. Beat Michigan and Minnesota the last 2 weeks !!
