  • 25 years ago, the first Harry Potter volume was published. The author of the books, J.K. Rowling lived in Edinburgh when she wrote many of the Harry Potter books. So is the Scottish capital the ultimate Holy Grail for Harry Potter fans? And why is the hype for the city still growing, even though the series has long since concluded? Reporter Hannah Hummel went to Edinburgh to find out why so many Harry Potter fans travel there, and tried to find out how many Harry Potter experiences she could fit into one day.

Nicely done! But a correction: "JK Rowling lived in Edinburgh for many years"? She still lives there.
Though she now lives out near the edge of the city, her previous residence was 2 Abbotsford Park, a quiet street in the city's Morningside neighbourhood.
It is always nice to see people excited by the Harry Potter phenomenon and its links to fabulous Edinburgh.

I don't think you know what "Holy Grail" means. It refers to the cup that Christ drank from at the last supper, which has never been found. Ergo, it is something of incredible value that is elusive. Edinburgh is certainly a remarkable city, but it is not elusive. You can find it on a map and go there.

@@meganz2783 my point was: if she didnt have money for heating how she manage to be at a Cafe consuming and paying premium prices for coffee and probably stacks. Sure she took time in a Cafe and it would be strange to stay for hours without consuming, or bringing stuff from home to save money.
