YES, I was a fan of glass animals before I was a fan of mcyt and I’m happy they are getting the hype they deserve but it isn’t all about the fanfics, they are awesome singers and musicians and I love their music
Hearing Glass Animals songs slowed down and with reverb has such a strange feeling to it. Like the Dreamland album already elicits a strong feeling of nostalgic dream you've had before but slowed + reverb feels less like a dream and more like that moment right before you fall asleep where you just let your mind wander to different points in your life reminiscing, thinking to what you could have done differently. Dreamland at it's normal speed is remembering while slowed is more like over analyzing and I love both so thank you for this version of the song.

I love this song so much ughh the guitar that sounds like 'melon and the coconut' in the beginning, and the chord/melody change to 'it's all so incredibly loud' throughout the song, the accustic guitar of 'iasil' , the loud, raspy low notes, and the 'dreamland' ending- it feels like we came into this Dreamland, the land of our youth, and now we are heading out, but cherishing our memories on the way Helium feels like a goodbye, but also a new start ughh its like a reminder that while our past isn't our everything, it's still an important part of you . How to be a human being feels like orange juice and hot midday. Road trips. Summer. Everything good, wrong, and bright. Harsh reality but kinda glossed over with the mishaps of a normal human. All of dreamland is purple, pink, and blue. GA at it's vaporware CORE. Feels like a dream; cool nights, disassociation, nostalgia, and all the unbelievable. Cotton candy and neon lights. I love glass animals, all their music has resonated in some way with me all my life.

I know that now glass animals and mcyt fans are kind of associated with each other, but I wanted to point out how fast the comments about the fanfic (on tiktok and official yt music videos) disappeared after people realized the band was uncomfortable. There's people enjoying Heatwaves on the official channel and appreciating the band, while having discussions about the fic on other videos. A great example is the one i listened to right before this, "Heatwaves but you need to be kissed so hard you forget your name" (a reference to the ff, also just a slowed down version of hw). I know that now glass animals and mcyt fans are kind of associated with each other, but I wanted to point out how fast the comments about the fanfic (on tiktok and official yt music videos) disappeared after people realized the band was uncomfortable.
There's people enjoying Heatwaves on the official channel and appreciating the band, while having discussions about the fic on other videos. A great example is the one i listened to right before this, "Heatwaves but you need to be kissed so hard you forget your name" (a reference to the ff, also just a slowed down version of hw).
It's ether that, or I'm wrong and i haven't seen people that are still talking about it. Feel free to correct me.

Okay these comment with boundaries, and stuff telling mcyt fans to just back off, really isn't cool. Glass Animals fans, we're just liking the music that is referenced from a fanfic, there's 0 problem in that. Literally chill out. Some of us actually became fans of the music bc of mcyt. Nobody is disrespecting anything here, because in the end, most of us like the song. I liked the band before Heatwaves and Helium, also, but literally like at least 25% of this comment section is "omg guys stop talking ab the fanfic, boundaries, it isn't just ab the fanfic-.'' We already know that. We can enjoy things tho, and most of us here found the band *through the fanfics.* We get that it's literally not about the fanfics, *it's just stuff we like.* We're literally not disrespecting the song at all, and we're just here to have a good time. :/
And I've read Heatwaves, personal opinion, it wasn't that great. We just enjoy things, quit going crazy over it and acting sad that we just found this all a different way than you.
