This is kindof funny because I'm pretty sure Triple J never played this song when it came out, years ago; it wasn't the "right sound". In fact, I forever remember two presenters ragging on Owl City and this song, which was popular on the charts at the time, as an example of derivative and hollow pop - the kind of music that was beneath them as Real lovers of music with Good taste and an Appreciation for fresh new sounds and etc.
It was just very popular very quickly. Not much more analysis needed.

Great song! But come on, use that damn voice! Shout out the words at some part, it's too dull compared with the instrumental part. Put some passion in it!
This song is just so overdone and exhausting. This version isn't terrible, but it wasn't interesting either. Just pick something more original
