HELLO NOTIFICATION SQUAD!

Hey 😎👍
Nero, there's no " waiting/hoping it gets better" anymore we are in the demoralization stage, and it's not gonna stop. Sell your Vidya for a sword
I guarantee you Activision is paying close attention to this and watching to see how things work out for Battlestate to see how far they can push things on their end.
Well said. Just my thought.
It would be a little hard for Activision to pull this type of thing. Tarkov devs, in every aspect of the word, stole from their customers. (pay 150 get access to future dlc, now pay 250 for the same thing and the people who bought 150 no longer have access, and deleted terms of 150 purchase on page) Its hard to deal with BSG because they are Russian based, and there are no regulation on gaming. Let Activision do this, and the lawsuit that hits them would shiver their timbers, and bet that regulations would come right after that....Now that I say it out loud, pleae Activivion, DO IT, DO IT NOW.
Yes and no. Activision knows that they can push monetization further and further. But even they know there's a feasible limit. COD is primarily a console based franchise even though it's gained a huge presence on PC with warzone. MMOs and subscription based games don't quite have the same appeal for console players that already pay monthly to play online. Usually these subscriptions come with the promise of lots of gameplay and stuff to grind for. COD has never been about that. They'll deliver portioned experiences and then design another portioned experience. Not to mention console players don't have as much interaction with "early access" titles as they do on PC and it's been a problem for more than a decade now. Early access games charging an arm and a leg for starter editions premium editions (star citizen) with thousand dollar ships for example or real money auction house trading like a stock market. Majority of console gamers are you get and don't have the finances to play around with these elements so Activision can't really monetize them as much. Mobile on the other hand....
@@spakentruth I hear you but Activision literally just sold $100 monkey fist dlc. And it being on console doesn’t really mean much when we have games like Destiny that’s had great success and has been monetized to hell. Activision has shown time and time again that they will continue to push the limits on the ways they can monetize their games. Especially CoD. What you’re saying may make sense from a historical standpoint, but over recent years there has been way too many live service and subscription based games (i.e. seasonal battle passes) that console gamers have gotten used to and shown the willingness if not at least the interest in purchasing.
@@Buttz2Buttz lol exactly. I doubt they would do exactly what Battlestate did, but attempting to do it in a different way, with different verbiage is highly likely. If it turns out that Battlestate made a ton of money from doing this despite public backlash, it is highly likely Activision at some point will have some type of similar plan. They’ve already shown that they don’t give af about what the fans says or what they want as long as the money keeps rolling in.
I’m hesitant to pull the trigger on a $25 game, I can’t even fathom a $250 game
I remember a little while back when I played COD, there was a guy I ran into who said he literally lives for COD. This man genuinely said he works purely so he can buy bundles on COD. These are the type of people COD targets to now. I wish I was lying about this.
I believe you, these people existed back around the OG CoDs as well. Companies figuring this out is how we’ve gotten to this point today.
I’ve known friends only play cod for like 10 years they don’t play ANY other game yet play daily
south park had a episode of this topic and the point at this marketing strategy is that the most players buy nothing or less than 10 €, a few people buy content for ~100 € and the smalles player group and the most relevant are the whales who spend 1000-100000€ in cosmetic skins.

For now Bud, for now 😂😂😂, I remember someone says that for IW back in the Day even Activision was the best game Dev in the whole world, 😂😂

Has nero done a video on helldivers 2? I could’ve sworn he has.

Activision is not the developer of the games they just sell and market and tell respawn and sledgehammer to make bundles and season passes and all that garbage.
Call of duty isn’t a game anymore is a store and the dlc is the game lol 😂
The fact that sbmm rigs the matches further proves it’s not a game anymore - it’s mostly an ‘experience’
Then I forgot about it, y'all are the ones that make them continue and the ones that criticize the game.
Gaming has been so bad that I'm starting to believe that it is sabotage.
They’re just pushing the boundaries further than normal to see the absolute limits of what they can get away with
And we thought the $2 animated bacon skin in BO2 was bad
Thing is they are testing the waters with crazy prices and eventually they will hit a point where it’s too much but by then the prices at £100 are going to be normal and yet ppl will still buy. I’m glad I never buy anything and the more they increase prices the less likely I might be tempted to buy something. Games industry is terrible right now
I read somewhere online average cod players spends$175-$200 in content
it used to just be like around $120 a year, $60 for the game, $15 per dlc for 4 dlcs

Apex was selling $350 deathbox and heirloom for the final fantasy event like 2 months ago. The fps game market is just doodoo now. And it will continue to be as long a little Timmy continues swiping his moms credit card when she isn’t looking
Yeah that is true with the final fantasy event but with all collab skins now on apex. They only gonna be there in the shop for limited time then after that they are never returning. Cause people keep on asking Post Malone on stream begging for his skins to come back
@@Gaziez no collection event is worth spending $150 on.
@@Gaziez especially in apex. Their game is barely functioning at this point
No. It will never change until you realize that it’s working adults who pay for this. There aren’t thousands of rich kids who steal their mom’s credit card every month. It’s people who go to work and choose to spend their money on it. That’s why they can make 1.7 billion in a 3 month span
@@toptiertech7291 obviously dude. It was one example
You just know that other AAA companies are looking at this and thinking “Wait! They can do that? Say something isn’t technically DLC and not free content and still make the play base buy it so they can access it?” And trying to work out their own twist on it for their own future projects
Thanks Nero. As a (now former) Tarkov player it’s nice to see this get some air time
Didnt Activision put out a $100+ game edition bundle for MW2 that had a ton of guns/cameos...and it didnt work like was explained or never really dropped at all?

$200 Limited Edition Black Ops Gulf War bundle inbound
You ever noticed how EVERY BUNDLE OPERATOR is on the SPECGRU team side (you can't have more than 2 paid operators active at the same time) and when you play team modes the game makes you the KORTAC Team?🤔🤔
So?
Not every is specguru just most
@toptiertech7291 if you play team modes cod chooses which faction you play as so it if chooses the KORTAC Team you can't use your operators on the SPECGRU team which is 95% of Any operator bundle. For example All 3 Godzilla movie skins are on the SPECGRU team why when 1or2 are villians?
They're mostly made for the ftp side of things , I would assume analytically that the people who buy the game don't buy bundles as much on top of the $ 70 price tag as opposed to the free to play people that get roped in by the battle pass and buy skins
@blicky308 none of that matters if you buy a bundle and play TDM but the game doesn't allow you to use the operator you have selected because the game makes you the opposite team so you are the only one who can see your selected operator which makes buying bundles more of a scam
These high dollar bundles are a tactic to make which are now the cheaper bundles, seem like a deal.
It’s called the “Reid Technique”.
Why don't they just make the pve free and charge for the items, meet the fans half way, it's like devs are purposefully running IPs into the ground, makes me wonder what's going on behind the scenes
People tend to forget that the people making decisions at Activision aren't game devs. They're businessmen. They laugh at us behind our backs because we keep giving them money for stuff that doesn't exist.
Next cod game spend $300 to take away sbmm
This is where a studio like Hello Games deserve massive respect for the support they have given No Mans Sky.
They had it tough at launch but they have really delivered more & more - for free - over time.
$250 is the price of a Nintendo Switch and half the price of a ps5/xsx. Wtf lol.
That’s cuz switch is less than half the power of a ps5 😂
Even that fallout update did nothing but break all the mods and delete my 20 hour save
It's called catfishing scamming people.
The all future DLCs isn't even true, i got the EoD bundle a LONG time ago. My account shows I can still get a stash upgrade and apparel unlock and in the store it's listed under "expansions"
Nero, for the 1st time since I've been subbed to your channel, I didn't even watch the entire vidoe out of discuss, not towards you but towards Activision and their crap.
At this point I can't feel sorry for anyone who buys anything from cod, and you know the algorithm is "rewarding" them for their purchase.
Activision are choir boys right now. Hopefully they don't tell Battlestate Games "Hold my beer".
I had to rewind to see if I heard that price correctly. $250?? For a bundle???? WHAT?????
He hasnt heard of star citizens dlc 👀
or this one medieval game where you could pay that amount to be a king of a kingdom or something
Stuff like this is why I’ve been sticking to old games and indie games
Because you don’t like others having cosmetic items in games?
@@toptiertech7291 It's not about that, it is about everything having a price tag. If the game developers were genuine it would be unlockable.
Its sad that people go this far. Good vid
I would sue for false advertising lmao
I don't have a problem with deluxe editions of games. If you want to spend a little more to get a few extras and show the devs you like what they are doing and to support them, that's fine. The part I hate with these editions is the exclusive content like PVE modes and missions that are only available with versions of games that are over 100 dollars. The only thing that should be in them is a few extra cosmetics, future dlc and for the really expensive editions, statues and art books and some of the other physical stuff they've added in the past.
What I'll never understand though is people spending hundreds of dollars on cosmetics. This bs these devs are pulling will never stop as long as these dumbasses keep buying them. I would be fine with them selling them if there was another way to earn them, but there isn't. They put all the best ones behind a pay wall. I honestly wish they would go back to loot boxes but give you the new guns for free. You shouldn't even have to level up a battlepass to unlock them.
They need to do a hybrid of every system they've had. You can buy stuff thru the shop and unlock stuff through a battlepass. Once the next battlepass season starts, put all the content in loot boxes. Also have a way you can earn them thru challenges and let you earn scrap to spend on unlocking exactly what you want. It would let people buy stuff right away that they want, people that play everyday unlock stuff thru battlepass, and the rest who play here and there have a way to still unlock stuff randomly or by going for exactly what they want.
That's too consumer friendly though so we'll never see that. If a dev made a game like cod, that was just as good, but did all the consumer friendly stuff Activision won't, people would flock to it.
This is why I’m ready for XDefiant’s release.
The game is free, so I won’t mind spending money on extra stuff as bad
250 is like a whole Switch console
Just wait. COD is on its way there. As long as ppl keep buying these expensive shitty bundles the devs are gonna keep pushing the prices up
Only time I'm willing to spend $200.00 on a dlc I'll give a example destiny 2 final shape collector's edition with all the real item's that come with it like the og tower from d1
The fact that Microsoft doesn´t bother to stop this crap happening tells you all. This deal never should have happened.
Greed is getting completely out of hand in every aspect of life
So they can now start saying that all things they release from now on is a new feature and not a “DLC item” and at that point they have scammed their players… this is false advertisement and is actually illegal
“The primary tool the Office of the Attorney General uses to protect Texas consumers is the Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA). This law lists many practices that are false, deceptive, or misleading. When you fall victim to illegal practices covered by the DTPA, you may have the right to sue for damages under the act.”
Yeah Black Ops expect crazy skins and bundles for sure. Maybe even futuristic stuff. Do not expect it to be mil sim.
idk why people think any cod games will be mil sim. Activision knows what sells & it ain't that.
When did cod ever say it was a mil sim? I don’t want to play a mil sim. I want to play as Cheech shooting snoop dog. Not 1 random military guy shooting another random military dude
@@toptiertech7291cod used to at least just be military guys shooting military guys BACK IN THE DAY 12 years ago, now though honestly it's much funnier to play

Cod hasn't been doing bad lately. At least the cod shit is cosmetic. The new xp boost is a nothing burger as there's about 3 or 4 ways to earn more xp faster.
Hot take: a new mode is not "DLC", devs aren't gonna slave for months coding a new mode and not try to turn a profit. should it be $250? that's another debate.
can we get a dear nero every other week plz
nero think back to the leak where they said the story is going to be more open world and everryone lost there minds over this, but everyone missed the bit where it said in that leak that trey hadnt started there new game with 20 months to go before release.
It's a $100 upgrade from the $150 previous edition where they were supposed to get all future dlc for free, yea I'd not buy anything from that company again.
The blame lies squarely on the players. We bought those silly virtual trinkets in the first place. The companies simply took the money we willingly gave up.
If I thought my customers were mug enough to buy silly costumes skins, I’d sell them too.
Yeah. Skins are one thing. Those are fine. But taking complete features out the game after people preordered it is different
Id love to see an Aussie Tarkov player use our strict consumer laws to make an example of this studio and situation.
That’s not going to work😂
Damn that's just insane

Bro I'm telling you this game is gonna turn into a rated PG game. With cartoon and Barbie operator skins. ...smh.
I mean the Gold Cheetah camo was technically advertised constantly and shown as static. It’s more of an aesthetic choice for the e-mail to have a gif like that to make it pop out (the email, not the camo). Not defending the fact you need to buy 100 dollars worth of merch though, shit was stupid.
Nobody is holding anyone at gunpoint and saying buy this bundle or else. I don’t even blame the businesses at this point. If there are morons out there buying these things then they’re the ones ruining it for everyone else. The pay to win side of things is for sure shady shit though
Hey Nero you should check out this game called sker ritual it’s like resident evil mix with COD Treyarch round based zombies it looks great to be made by 5 indie devs and could possibly compete with COD zombies with the right support
Why does everything have to be “compete with cod”?? Why? Can’t it just be a good, fun game to play? An indie game made by 5 people isn’t going to compete with cod
@@toptiertech7291 "An indie game made by 5 people isn’t going to compete with cod." you'd be surprised. how can you compete with something that had fallen off the deep in.
The whole gaming industry is about competing is it not. Every gaming studio are in a competition with each other because everyone of them want to sell/make the best game every year but just because I said compete with COD zombies doesn’t mean I said F COD and everything it stands for I was just asking to check it out it may not be a perfect game but it looks impressive for 5 indie devs tbh I never played it just so happened to see it on CZcams and asked Nero to check it out

It's absurd what you spend over the course of a year to play a game. Ps5 more than 400 and, psplus at least 70 for year, Internet costs to play online plus the values of the battle pass / dlc.... It's a small fortune.... So whoever buys these packs of 100 and 250 and, It's not even good to do the math
Well let’s see. The PS5 isn’t a purchase you have to make every year. I’ve had mine since 2021. PS plus is right. I’d be paying for home internet even without a game console so that’s not because of gaming. So you’re really only paying for PS plus and the game. Why are you buying battle passes? To get cosmetics?
