He didn't use his full power to turn to a human🤦 he wished to be a human and his wish was granted by a creator of the universe, but if he was turned into a human with all of his powers, he always ended up dying, so the creator of the universe took his powers, though he'll get them back real soon.
For me the only real heir of solo leveling is Omniscient reader, there is weight to the characters actions, people die, and when the MC finds a way to get out of a bad situation it's not instantaneous, they all have to work their asses off in order to make this work. It's frenetic as much as it slowly depicts its world. Both the manwha and the light novel complete themselves. It's just great.
Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint isn't an heir of Solo Leveling, it's its own manhwa, and in my own opinion an even better one than Solo Leveling.
@@tomonewi sl: 2016 as a novel, orv: 2018 as a novel, orv """just""" added some other inspirations, it only differs on how the MC deals with crisis(sjw: everyone get tf back, dokja: everyone with me so i can protect them and use the best of them. It was profoundly influenced by solo leveling, and is better in a lot of way, so i can say with confidence it is an heir of solo leveling.

In case you haven't understood ORV, the relationships and companionships in it are what makes ORV different and a story of its own. The story only one reader has read. An ending he wants to create. Which part of that is similar to Solo Leveling, one that focuses on gaining power and joining forces once in a while?
Also, if you've read or even heard spoilers of the novel, there is a ton of things that Solo Leveling will not even come close to, on the emotional level.
At the end of the day, Solo Leveling and Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint are completely different novels. You can say that Solo Leveling influenced many stories with an op mc, but ORV ain't one of them and neither are a lot of unique system manhwas. SSS-Suicide Hunter was published in 2018 with so many differences; Lout of Count's Family also brings something very unique to the table was also published in 2018.
It comes down to preference, but in my opinion, ORV is at least on par with SL: the emotional punches are more than enough to bridge the gap of the hype and art style of SL.
There's always peak novels out there and SL is not at the top of the list. Although we gotta thank sl for introducing so many ppl to manhwa, it stays for the newbies.

The power up in I used to be a boss are more logical then in solo leveling. He's more or less like every other hunter in solo leveling where he gets stronger from figuring out new ways to use his powers

If this is the next Solo Leveling then all fantasy Manhwa with an OP protagonist is the next Solo Leveling.
Solo leveling was good not because of anything specific, it didn't innovate or went all the way on anything, it was quite generic and the protagonist looked like any other protagonist, but what ever did do it did really good, and the art style was insane - that's SL's secret.
I think one of the main things that made SL so enjoyable to read is the perfect pacing the story had. Not rushed, but not slow either, never lets the reader get bored and always gives something new for them to be hyped about.
I've read many manhuas with similar concept as SL, but most of them just feel really rushed, the protagonist is already stronger than everyone in the first 15 chapters and the new powers he aquires or the opponents he faces fail to cause you any excitement.
The only two SL-like manhuas that I really enjoyed and kept reading until I caught up with the latest chapters, are Second Life Ranker and Solo Max Level Newbie
It was also because it wasnt jjst walk in the park fights all the time he got really strong just for a new challenge to knock him off a peg

He goes from "weakest human to A class" in 40 chapters, and after that it's basically sword art online hacks.
Solo leveling has the WORST pacing and is just a turn your brain off manhwa for people who like super edgy emo characters, and the story is SO RIDICULOUS that no matter how hard you work with any amount of determination or willpower, you CANNOT get stronger, it COMPLETELY DESTROYS the concept of 99% of all anime and fiction, and unless you're the "chosen one", you are ABSOLUTELY USELESS. And let's not even talk about the wasted side characters who have more personality and motivation drive that the main character.
SL is my most hated manhwa, it sucks in almost every aspect, and is carried by the art style. The way you described it, I'm not sure we're talking about the same manhwa dude

The whole reason solo leveling is good is because the pacing makes it feel like Sung doesn't get op super fast. He literally takes months to gain a few levels at first and nearly dies multiple times even as he approaches his peak.
Now I'm not hating on this series, I actually read it weekly and am up to date on it, however I wouldn't really compare it to solo leveling. It's not all to similar to Solo Leveling in terms of story, pacing or characters which isn't to its own detriment as it defines itself as it's own story instead of a lot of solo leveling rip offs that lack personality. Baphomet is an interesting protagonist tho he does sort of lack the depth that made Sung so interesting, his only real strategy is just fighting harder. The only thing that comes close to something from Solo Leveling would probably be his interactions with the system and how he barters with it.

As someone who really enjoyed solo leveling, I used to be a boss is okay. I found "The Tutorial is Too Hard" to be pretty interesting though. Not as overpowered mc but I like the story better.
Solo leveling is not just an OP character folks. There is more to it. It is about the execution of the interaction of said character with rest of the world. That interaction is executed perfectly. That execution is what gives us the feels, goosebumps, emotions. And no. This story is no solo leveling.

The thing with Solo leveling is that he isnt OP, we are along for the ride as he grows, changes, and becomes a force to be not be questioned. The anime series has barely even glanced the series yet and is merely just passed the prologue of the series.

I’m currently all caught up on this manhwah and if I’m being honest it’s just ok nothing super special about it characters are bland powers aren’t all that interesting the story concept isn’t bad it’s an ok read but it’s not nearly as good as solo leveling if you want some suggestions that are on par with solo leveling I recommend 1.omniscient reader 2. Boundless ascension 3.ultra-alternate character

And after reading this manwha I can say with certainty I love it.
Every abyss tower takes nearly 200 issues just to get to the third floor. And that is despite MC knowing everything, because side quests and butterfly effects, etc…

Forget solo leveling and read Star embracing swordmaster. I've read countless action manwhas and this is one of the best I've come across.
Tbh a huge downpoint for all these manwha that try to be Solo Leveling is the fact than nearly all of them fail at delivering a likable character. Solo Leveling is by no mean a masterpiece, but Jin Woo it's an extremely likable characters and he ends up being bad ass without even trying. Actually for that regards really anyone in the both the manwha and novel is likable. For all i could care probably the only manwha that i can point out as the next SL is "the world after the fall".
If you love solo leveling you will also love onmniscient reader

he is not even the Final boss of the tower, he was just a unique Mob who just happen to beat up the Final boss because he was sick and tired of guarding the lower floors, and after that he made the final boss into his stand (yes like JoJo like stand)😂
[I'm up to date with the manhwa.] Most of what this guy said isn't very accurate (especially the solo leveling bit). But its not like the manhwa is that much better tbh. The MC struggles a lot early on and it takes a considerable amount of time for him to get relatively strong. Most of the time the art is quite bland and the plot (the end goal) seems a little too forced. Other than that, the character development and the MC are pretty enjoyable.
there will be no "next solo leveling" because that's a masterpiece. different manhwa have their own unique way of story. but the solo leveling vibe is too great that no one can ever duplicate it.

People like solo leveling because of good scaling, this one gets a little weird in the lore
Contradictory to my expectations I enjoyed the anime of Solo Leveling quite a lot, with skipped background stories, because I really dislike the novels. Nothing whatsoever about them is worth my time. However, the animation is surprisingly good enough to keep me invested.
At the moment, I'm reading Lord of the Mysteries 2: Circle of Inevitability, and while unfortunately not as great as LOTM 1 I'm sure nothing in the current anime department comes close.
