I can confirm i tried the W opening and while I was -12 after losing a rook. The utter confusion made my opponent time out.

I think personally I’d go with the mirrored side W variation, protects the king a bit better and lets the queen move around more. It would make the light square bishop the one you really need to get rid of

A chess opening I came up with it the Cabbage
Play the c-a-b-b-a-g-e pawns in a row
You can push the b pawn one space twice to play the rooted variation, or two spaces once to play the accelerated variation.
I chose it because I think it's the longest word using only the letters in chess notation.

This is a good opening but I think it would strategically be better if you're W was to the left side of the board if you're playing black and to the right side if you're playing white. This way your king is completely protected from both your oppent's bishops. And your Queen is open to attack too since your pawns are out of the way. I think this opening is good because it gives you time to defend and pick a side to start attacking. In this version of the opening, your black square/white square bishop is stronger than the other bisbop in terms of possible moves. Your strongest bishop is also on the same colour as your queen so it sets you up perfectly for something dangerous. I was playing chess against someone and I lost, but then we played a second match and I used the W opening for the first time. I won but it I didnt play the opening the way wirtual intended. In simple terms, the pawns should be on the same colour as the king. Makes more sense to me.
You could make the W symmetrical! For example, as white you want the pawns on d3 and e3 in the middle, and then you add a4 b3, g3 h4. Then you also don't make one color complex that much weaker plus you get to develop both bishops.

I think Anna should play like this more often. It looked like she couldn't handle being in a place of weakness and recovering from it. That's a good skill to learn. I think Wirtual had the advantage in this as he is probably more used to being in a position of weakness and struggling to recover.

No word of a lie, the “w” opening has been my go-to whenever I play chess (I play chess very rarely though😂)

I think it could be much better, if you move it one square, so that the d and f pawns are the base points. That way, you avoid sholar's mate stuff. Otherwise, great opening of course
By best play, this would only be around -3 instead of -4
Reminds me of a video by suckerpinch (the one about Uppestcase and Lowestcase Letters) where he creates chess bots whose sole aim is to make the entire board look as close to a letter as possible :') anyway this is clearly a great opener

I see a flaw; the W is oriented incorrectly. You are basically telling yourself that you're going to win, which should be expected, but the opponent sees an M, which means nothing. If inverted, then the opponent would see a W and should then understand the severity of their blunder
If you make the e pawn the center instead of the d pawn and open with e3 or e6 instead, the king will be much safer.
I believe this is the future for W theory.
