The Wululululu sound means the gain medium has been damaged (either via blunt force or over charging) so yeah replacing the “barrel” is the right move.
That or poking it an enemy could potentially replace their colors with yours and turn them an ally

For a man so disgusted by the zombies, it's hilarious you refuse to keep on power armor, or at least put on a hazmat suit. You're in the splash zone, need to dress appropriately.
It's not that he refuses to wear the power armor, it's that he can't because of a lack of training.

To kinda answer your question on the laser frequency kinda with high power lasers like the laser rifle outside of some fairly specific wiring it probably uses a gas filter lens to focus and filter the beam like Night vision or like if a neon light and a nixie tube had a roided out baby and also they still make live wire
One of the trickiest things about learning to fix laser weapons is learning the difference between them and a goose.
future chemist here: The reason the laser is orange instead of red is not only because of the nanometer frequency (nm) its because it could be using an element that has a higher spin in terms of the general crystal field theory and field split while I may not understand what material its made from I can make the general assumption that its on the level of an alkali type crystal. again not 100% sure please correct me if I missed something or got something wrong.

Can confirm, Livewire is still sold, at least in gas stations in Tennessee.
Them saying the factory supplied the entire east coast could've been taken as items made in the factory were sent to Enclave operations across the entire east coast rather than supplying just a small part of it. It wasn't the sole factory keeping the Enclave supplied in the east.

1.) You can get the Fallout 76 (Early) Enclave uniform for free up in the rafters of the workbench room in the factory
2.) I'm curious how they'll handle the tie-ins to the main quest, since Act 2 requires you to complete Reunions so the Brotherhood blimp arrives and Act 3 requires completion of Institutionalized. You can even build the Institute teleporter with the Enclave.

If we're taking this as lore, the Atlantic rig wouldn't be the only thing supplying East Coast Enclave ambitions. Raven Rock had the industrial capacity to produce vertibirds, rifles, and power armor same as the rig.

I feel like on the oil rig with all the power armor they have around there must be some training videos or manuals or programs or something that someone will stumble over. assuming none of the staff know how to use it and could teach Zach so he could use it for some of the more dangerous mission/ghoul extermination missions.
I hope they do Sim Settlements 2 at some point. I know they're not big on the settlement building system, but one of the fun things about SS2 is you can tell the settlements to build themselves. Though you may have to do some serious resource production sorting in the mid-game. The story though is incredibly good.
They do still make livewire in the bottles and sometimes in 12 packs but are quite rare
Ah, it seems like the General has further Orders for you... let it be know to you that these Orders are important to restablish the Enclave as a powerful Opponent (atleast in the Commonwealth)!
Like restarting the Factory for example, that might just help keep up the Demands for Weaponry and/or Armor once the entire Enclave Army appears... but that will only happen once we've properly established ourselves. Speaking of that, Doctor Kane's Research really is important to combat the Dangers of Radiation and the Mutated Creatures it has spawned.
A fair Warning to you: there are Reports from Scouts that People seem to quite like that Research Facility, from a bunch of Bandits to a bunch of Mercanaries... but they aren't the only ones there.
There's an old Enemy of the Enclave looting that Location apparently, it's... the Brotherhood of Steel, you might not know this but... they are the ones Responsible for destroying Raven Rock!
And knowing them, it's only a matter of time until the entire Brotherhood thinks it's time to interrupt the Peace and Quiet in the Commonwealth just to start stealing Technologies from others.
Also... you might've missed something in the Workshop Room/Requsition Room, rumors say that there's still an old Enclave Officer Outfit in a lost Box ontop of the Pipes on the Ceiling.
The PA training thing was a retcon from Fallout 3 🤑

So, I know Zach is roleplaying as a pre-war enclave soldier, but for future reference, Deathclaws are a pre-war military thing. They were a genetically engineered creature to be used on the battlefield, smart enough to be trained, They were not mutated during the war, they simply became less domesticated.
He was in low ranking service and deathclaws were a separate scientific research wing and were kept really secret, somewhat how the soldiers in Mariposa did not know about the FEV experiements, and when they found out, became angry and became the original Brotherhood of Steel
I could take the Enclave content a little more seriously if the officer in charge didn't have that same ridiculous accent as Colonel Autumn. Really, what are the odds this one guy would be from the same area?
