I once had a teacher at the beginning of a class had us do a bout me assignment. On it she asked our preferred pronouns and preferred names. But not only that but if this was what we wanted used on anything going to our parents. That way if someone is out at school but not at home she doesn’t accidentally out them.

My grandpa has to have open heart surgery and with Covid restrictions we’re not allowed to see him pre op or post op. My grandma has to drop him off and go back home because you can’t wait in a waiting room anymore. I’m scared to death and would like to hold his hand but I can’t. I see these influences going around to parties like nothing is happening and it pisses me off. People are dying. People have lost their jobs. No one keeps these influences accountable. They make insensitive remakes like “it is what it is” and make empty apologies just to go and do it all over again.
A side story this last year my brother last his best friend. I’d had known my brothers best friend since I was two. With Covid at its peak the church would only let so many guest in so we thought we weren’t going to be able to say our final goodbyes to him and pay our respects. Eventually it was all squared away but I was heart broken in that moment thinking I wasn’t going to be able to say goodbye to him.
I agree, it's despicable. My grandma passed away from coronavirus and we never got to see her before she died. It's sickening that these guys give so little of shit. They've got literal blood on their hands, and I hate to say it but I don't think they'll understand until it happens to them and part of me hopes it does so they stop what they're doing and for justice to all the vulnerable people they're fucking over.

If you're 26 and your back is hurting all the time, you should seriously ask your doctor about ankylosing spondylitis. It's a semi-common type of arthritis that often starts in your teens/twenties/thirties and if it's untreated, it can lead to your vertebrae fusing.

As retail worker with a messed up knee who is standing for at least 7+ hours at a time (sometimes with only one day off in three weeks), can't afford my medical bills (let alone the other bills), and has to deal with crappy, entitled customers who want to call corporate for EVERYTHING, hearing a "tiktoker" say that they really need a break because of their "job" is one of the most infuriating and laughable things I've heard of in a while. One of the worst parts is that many customers don't care at all about covid and these corporations definitely aren't paying us more to be out in public even though they never paid a living wage beforehand anyways.
As much as retail sucks though, I know it's 10x worse for nurses and doctors since they have to directly face the sickly results of other people's carelessness.
