Nice to see the cloudwalker compete again. It was an amazing game and,Lin really put up a good fight.
Is this the first time Lin won a game against Xu Xin? Lin did much better in countering or long rallies in this match and he won a few points he would have lost before. However, at 2 games all, Xu began to attack Lin's weak spots, his forehand side. From what I observed, Lin's forehand couldn't even handle short balls without being bombed by the next return shot. Also, he still couldn't sustain a long rally from his forehand side. I am really surprised how he won against top-tier European players in which they are really good in long rallies.
Still not good enough from the Chinese who couldn't beat Taipei's cloud Walker!
How I miss Adam as the commentator...

If these are the best commentators the ITTF can get then I prefer no comments at all. The video with only the sound of the players and the ball would be far better.
對許昕的合理打法就是壓迫他的反手，但現在許昕的反手沒那麼容易壓迫了，而且許昕還有個世界最強的閃身正手，真的一點辦法也沒有。這場不用討論許昕對小林怎麼打，一般選手會壓迫小林正手，但許昕不用，只要許昕正手一衝，不管打哪裡對手都難以處理！今天小林有幾球反手扛住了許昕正手，表現算相當棒了！我覺得對小林來說，許昕是比小胖更難跨越的障礙！

許昕弧圈質量太高。速度不是頂級但旋轉極強還帶側旋，反手強如小林都真的很難壓得住
還有一點，就是了他們同為左手。
小林對其他選手的優勢，對許昕無效。
Please find someone who is at least competent as a commentator!
She (and also he) doesn't even know the names of the strokes (call the top spin smash and the smash drive...) and they sound like the automatic commentary of Fifa 98.
Furthermore they are unable to give any analysis or point of view on the game. Just a cold comment of what's going on and the score, things already very clear from the images...
It is for the sake of spreading our sport in a correct way around the world!

She doesn't know ping pong really. But she is able to pronounce xx's name accurately.

I completely understand what you mean, but you really have to give ITTF a break here. They have worked tremendously hard to gather the players together and arrange tournaments during these tough times. Maybe its not as easy as you think to bring a professional commentator from overseas to China during these times. We just all have to be a bit more patient and thankful that we can get to watch these world class players again after almost a year. Thanks

Each and everytime I see Lin Yun-Ju play Xu Xin I feel sorry for Lin. He's a great great player but Xu Xin makes him look like an amateur ( I don't mean that as an insult) its just Xu's style is soooo dominant against Lin.
An amateur that got 2 sets from Xu Xin.

the second game Xu xin got luck actually. i am a fan of both Lin and Xu. Lin is really really good and he is so calm.
@@tonzim6479 @Kapeesh jimmy most likely ment that xu makes lin *LOOK like* an amateur in rallies not according to score. lin was often forced to block xu xins loops and had often no chance to attack outside of receiving serves (which lin is very good at). and when lin DID attack xu just countered his flicks pretty much every time. its like you guys never read the last part of his comment and just mashed your keyboards with baby rage upon reading the words "makes him look like an amateur".......
XX is his toughest opponent. He plays too predictably and not down the line enough. XX knows where he's going usually. He beats Ma long and others sometimes, but just does poorly again XX. He hates his style

Smart of Xu xin not to do pivot forehand anymore and starts pressuring Lin with fast backhand topspin rallies. That completely threw Lin off his game.

Lin do almost his backhand flick or backhand return to every serve of the opponent. His backhand is so awesome !
"Backhand... backhand..." What's the point of this commentary?.. We can see they are playing backhands, it's like saying "serve" when someone serves.

How could she said that XX vs LYJ is left handed vs right handed.
She even said that LYJ is rank 5th (*while in the beginning they showed that LYJ is rank 7th and XX rank 2nd)

Xu was better for sure, but also he had lot of luck. So many edges and nets during important points
Great perfomance of both players in the first four sets, sets five and six Xu's pressure was too much for Lin. Lin needs to stabilize his forehand.

Adam was in Taiwan few weeks ago and probably can not attend due to the quarantine rules. ITTF has tried to use a few players to commentating as you'll notice.

An apparent wrong commentary @10.09, it was forehand drive topspin rather "FOREHAND SMASH" by XU.

林昀儒的穩定性不夠好，很容易在對拉的時候自己失誤，要馬掛網, 要馬沒有打上臺, 要馬揮空，這算是他一個明顯的弱點，不過他進攻得很積極，很看好他未來的進步和成長

As we can see that Lin YJ was not in his top performance for sure and last 2 games, he only won 2 points with his forehand. Xu Xin was just too strong and in much better forms than Lin. He is still young and lot of room to grow. 👍🏓

For a change, Lin won a few long rallies and that is the reason he got two games off Xu Xin. But at 2-2, Xu began to set short balls or loop drives to his forehand side. Lin is so weak at covering his forehand side and I wonder how he got this far in this tournament. Lin was in complete disarray the last 2 games.

Xu Xin did much better when he slowed things down first. His backhand was always going to be tested against Lin's backhand. Lin didn't adjust well to the variation. Lin did much better when Xu was throwing bombs at him, that rhythm seems to suit his style.

XX was a little slack after 2:00 up and lost the following 2 games but see how he stepped up in the 5th with full steam RPB to win 10:3 and the rest of the match. LYJ is such a brilliant player (see him in T2, Malaysia July 2019) but the Chinese have since found a way to counter.

Lin is playing too much on Xu his forehand, which is his stronger side.
It is hard to avoid Xu's forehand because Xu has very good footwork. Even Fan Zhendong or Ma Long have to deal with Xu's forehand. In this match, Lin was doing better on his backhand side but his forehand, defending, was less than mediocre. If Xu was to attack Lin's forehand side as he did the last 2 games, I am not sure if Lin will be able to win even Xu Xin allows him to start at 5 - 0.

It seems like Lin struggles with very spinny topspins. If you look closesly, he can't counter xu xin's forehand drives because the ball drops faster because of too much topspin. That's a unique characteristic of super spinny topspins and it's hard to deal with if the attacking player varies it.

Lin's forehand is a massive weakness.
Xu deliberately interrupted Lin's flow of the game with some trick. If you watched the full match, Xu illegally went to his towel several times when the score like 1:3 or 1:2. In the second and fifth sets, the influence was huge. When the game went tough for Xu, he went to the towel whenever he want. Lin was surprised by the move. The young player needs more experience to deal with such stuff.

@@fusfake 林昀儒要提高穩定性，林昀儒有不錯的反手，這可以讓他有較多起板攻擊的機會，許忻移位速度快是全方位的選手尤其更擅長中遠檯，他是中國最難打的選手，目前若說許忻是 A ，那林昀儒是A-,要贏許忻，林昀儒還有一段路要走。抽殺若能長短交互那可能會較好打。
許昕實力很強，但是林呁儒年輕有潛力還是有機會的，再接再厲吧

Both HT and LYJ has beaten ML before but they struggle to handle XX's style.
Anyway, commentators they've hired have no clues about TT. It's embarrassing.
