Excellent video mate ! It’s really helped me to do the job properly. Well explained and advice given. Followed your links too for the tools and pads .Thank you for your time in making it, been a real help thanks 👍🏻
Glad it helped Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video, did the same on our Zafira recently. Lots of horror stories online about flipping master cylinder seals, so opened the bleed nipple when winding back the piston.
That will work well, not had any issues myself with the seals, Thanks Andrew for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Another very useful and informative video. Thanks very much.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks Tahir for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Fantastic best one I've watched thank you for the video doing mine tomorrow 👍👍👍🍻
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video ant.got some rear pads to do on one of these soon.
Go for it! Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Very helpful….. would note that on my 64 plate mk 6 the top bolt is a 10mm and the bottom is half inch, apart from that really useful… Thanks for posting….
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Man your a Natural around 4wheels . You must have worked on them from a young age 🤘🇬🇧
Also Respect for your outside mechanics in Winter
Thanks, it was a cold day, need to clear the garage out 😂 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Splendid job 👌👍
Bless you Norm, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
nice M12 ratchet great video thanks
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Used a g clamp and a pair of pipe grips to wind back in the past. It was fiddly but it worked. The piston was very free though, not like that first piston. Think Ill invest in the tool now, it's not expensive. I wouldn't mind seen a video on totally replacing the brake fluid. Ive had it done by a garage in my Aygo at 4 year service, it made a lot of difference to the feel of the brakes.
It is one on the list to change the brake fluid, the brake rewind tool is a must makes the job much easier Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
i have Used a g clamp and a pair of mole grips to wind back the pistons in the past , but i would defo recommend investing in a rewind kit , like they say the right tool for the job :)
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Evening Ant
Another quality production 🛠🛠🛠🛠🛠🛠
Them calipers en carriers need a bloody good clean........ OCD KICKING IN.........🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
Are you using one of your new production lights for this video? It's quite dark under there....
Actually, I'm glad ya not. The dirt on those calipers/carriers/wheel arches would be too much for me to take....🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
Hope yourself en the gang are all ok.....
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT LIVE FOR "THE DINKY TOY CLUB" 🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘🚘
Stay safe. Stay healthy.

😂😂😂 You would be in there with the wire brush on the drill, and then the paint brush would be out😂
Don't talk to me about lights, I fitted them all in the garage, and it was too much trouble to take them down, so I have just bought a new Milwaukee M12 Light cant wait to try it out 😂😂 Any excuse for a new bit of toolage👍🏻🛠 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Gr8 vid , thank you :)
No problem 👍 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Thank you,, Much Appreciated
Thanks, will do! Link to playlist is czcams.com/play/PLXsfAZuNUCg_-DlR9GAPvfMWnfg0XcJGv.html Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
I have many videos on this car, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video what's the difference to use grips on the front calliper but the tool on the rear thanks👍
The front calliper pistons just push back, the rear ones need to rotate and be pushed back as they have the handbrake internal linkage to retract, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 thanks
Hi,
Thank you for sharing the content with us viewers/ Subscribers,
Just wondering if you could tell me if the vehicle your working on is the ?
( Astra H Mk5 )
Yes and yes, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Great video, thanks. Saw this after looking at the instructions in my Haynes manual. Haynes says to start by slackening the handbrake adjuster and unclipping the cable but I guess from your video this is just another unnecessary Haynes procedure? They also suggest you can wind the pistons back in using just circlip pliers, which looks unlikely to work so I'll definitely get a proper wind back tool - thank for the links. Lastly, Haynes says to clamp the brake pipe and open the bleed nipple before winding the piston back and to unscrew the piston slightly after winding it fully in - is none of this necessary either?
All a load of faff, just do as in the video Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Thanks - hoped you'd say that!
I always use circlip pliers as i dont have wind back tool and it works fine
Great video aaanton ive got problem with my rear caliper same car the piston wont wind back any suggetions is it kaput:-} Thanks
sounds like it, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hello mate. I just did my pads. The Brembo ones have that sticky pad too. Its very tacky when you peel it off. I just put the pads in. Then after finishing I looked at the old pads and each one had a thin metal cover that clips over the back of the pad. Do the new pads need those or not pls?
if the new pads don't come with them leave them out, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 Fair play. This vid really helped me do my pads. Think I need to get new disks though as one is warped but the loud squealing is gone for now at least 😅
Are you in Sheffield by any chance.. Your top looks like the Sheffield Wednesday kit
it is but I am in Leicester, my son played for the owls, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Hi aanton no grease on pads or caliper contacts? Is that ok wont it squeal
Use good quality pads, they wont give you any bother, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Did you do both rear sets of pads before you pumped the brake pedal ?
Yes, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Why these bloody cars are made in such a shit way when it comes to dissassembling the brakes to replace brake pads I'll never know. Thanks for this video to help us figure out why the ram wasn't budging regardless of how much pressure and how many bent/broken G-Clamps we used.
The front brakes are done with metal clips and an alan key lock, and the rear brakes are done with two bolts and this ridiculous, never personally seen before when it comes to working on cars, ram that needs to twist and push with a special tool rather than just being pushed in by a G-Clamp. So not only are they two different styles for gods' knows why, but the back ones need a special tool on top of it. Basically another "hah, screw the user, make 'em go to a mechanic. And screw the mechanic too, cus now they have to pay for a new tool".
Thanks for the great information👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Mine doesn’t turn. Seems jammed. What do I do
Strip it down and check the calliper Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
so you never had to disconnect the handbrake cable , just release it from inside the car ??
Don't touch the handbrake cable, just wind in the callipers Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
So you’re changing the pads because the disc has got a lip on it??? Did you just forget to do the disk? 😂😂
The Lip wasn't that big, & who doesn't like a nice pair of lips😂😂 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Maybe best to stick to the day job🤔
😂 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Those brake discs should have been replaced as well.
Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
