Great video, did the same on our Zafira recently. Lots of horror stories online about flipping master cylinder seals, so opened the bleed nipple when winding back the piston.

Used a g clamp and a pair of pipe grips to wind back in the past. It was fiddly but it worked. The piston was very free though, not like that first piston. Think Ill invest in the tool now, it's not expensive. I wouldn't mind seen a video on totally replacing the brake fluid. Ive had it done by a garage in my Aygo at 4 year service, it made a lot of difference to the feel of the brakes.

Are you using one of your new production lights for this video? It's quite dark under there....
Actually, I'm glad ya not. The dirt on those calipers/carriers/wheel arches would be too much for me to take....🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Don't talk to me about lights, I fitted them all in the garage, and it was too much trouble to take them down, so I have just bought a new Milwaukee M12 Light cant wait to try it out 😂😂 Any excuse for a new bit of toolage👍🏻🛠 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

The front calliper pistons just push back, the rear ones need to rotate and be pushed back as they have the handbrake internal linkage to retract, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Great video, thanks. Saw this after looking at the instructions in my Haynes manual. Haynes says to start by slackening the handbrake adjuster and unclipping the cable but I guess from your video this is just another unnecessary Haynes procedure? They also suggest you can wind the pistons back in using just circlip pliers, which looks unlikely to work so I'll definitely get a proper wind back tool - thank for the links. Lastly, Haynes says to clamp the brake pipe and open the bleed nipple before winding the piston back and to unscrew the piston slightly after winding it fully in - is none of this necessary either?

Hello mate. I just did my pads. The Brembo ones have that sticky pad too. Its very tacky when you peel it off. I just put the pads in. Then after finishing I looked at the old pads and each one had a thin metal cover that clips over the back of the pad. Do the new pads need those or not pls?

Why these bloody cars are made in such a shit way when it comes to dissassembling the brakes to replace brake pads I'll never know. Thanks for this video to help us figure out why the ram wasn't budging regardless of how much pressure and how many bent/broken G-Clamps we used.
The front brakes are done with metal clips and an alan key lock, and the rear brakes are done with two bolts and this ridiculous, never personally seen before when it comes to working on cars, ram that needs to twist and push with a special tool rather than just being pushed in by a G-Clamp. So not only are they two different styles for gods' knows why, but the back ones need a special tool on top of it. Basically another "hah, screw the user, make 'em go to a mechanic. And screw the mechanic too, cus now they have to pay for a new tool".
