- The MapleStory Korea winter update showcase was released today.
This update will be released in the summer of 2024 for our region maplestory global, and likewise for maplestory sea.
There are a lot of improvements like equipment presets, new crazy grinding map events that work up to level 200,
new 6th job mastery skills and a common 6th job skill that also gives bonus exp, a new monster life system and reboot final damage nerfs.

This update is looking pretty hype! (Besides the Reboot final damage nerf) LEAVE REBOOT ALONE T_T
Sir, in Korea they do not believe in poor man game, Maple is a Gacha game that turned free to play and reboot got catered to way too much for so long already. This is a step in the right direction. We who pay thousands of dollar on maple should have our items, and progression validated and hold a true value ( sarcastic KMS reg probably)

Reboot is not getting a nerf, they do reduce the FD but we are getting 30% from legion artifact (when max level) which ends up at 75% FD which is actually higher than what we have now.
You forgot the most important thing for new players: Lotus and Damien no longer require you to complete their respective epics to fight
i personally think the once per world is enough, people should atleast know the stories as players of this game

@@nirorit although i agree that the story is a burden in that case, i dont think prequests should be slowly removed. if you remember, the hardest bosses in the game used to feature certain prequests. zakum was a major one. pink bean. empress, horntail...

A few things you missed highlighting:
- New 260+ weekly minigame gives Sol Erda Fragments in Reboot
- In addition to the 2 new presets, we also get Consolidated Presets that let you change Links, Legion, Equipment, Hyper Stats, and IA in 1 single Click
- New Level up potion presumably works past 270 and just gives the amount of xp to lv 269->270, so that'd be about 44% from 270->274, 21.4 - 14.6% from 275-279, and 7.2%->4.9% from 280-284

reg server lost power from removal of monster life and gained it back with artifacts. Reboot gained power from artifacts (never had monster life) so we're being lowered again with nerf. I see theyre trying to equalize the amount of changing, but I think it's stupid, different servers are different servers we should have our own balancing. And plus it's not equalized back because like Coppersan mentioned, the overall change is a net nerf for Reboot
My guess would be that they're seeing more people go to reboot instead of regular, which is a more f2p friendly server, so they're nerfing it to have it be not as enticing. Which would be weird since they just added a new reboot server.
@@VaeltisKms has had restricted character creation on reboot for the past 6 months. You can only make new reboot characters if you’ve already made one previously.
@@acat5338 That's because reboot is (and was more so) just a better overall server to play on. 2.5x exp compared to reg, 20x mesos with meso drop gear and massive boss crystal meso gains making 22* star gear a walk in the park, FD buff enabling you to do bosses reg players need twice the amount of main stat to achieve. You will quite literally progress at lightning speed compared to reg, where your endgame is doomed if you don't drop hundreds of dollars just to bonus cube and close the dmg gap created by reboots passive FD buff.
A korean streamer switched to reboot and did black mage in under a year to highlight how over adjusted reboot was and it caused a mega shitstorm. You had to have cognitive damage to chose to play on reg. This is obviously extremely bad for the games health, which is why reboot needed nerfs.
@@Sam-vi2ho”reboot needed nerfs” absolutely L take. Reg server needed buffs, because it was and is an unplayable mess to progress in with massive paywalls. But Nexon buffing reg=potentially less money from reg players whaling on cubes (at least in their minds).
I’m so glad GMS made Zero class playable again! So I’m assuming BT will be released to do so as well in January or February when BTs get their 6th job. Really hoping the jobs KMS doesn’t have doesn’t get deleted like Jett. Kanna’s one of my mains ;-;

Apparently the little Trifling Whim arrows are boosted but I honestly can't spot the difference. Maybe they're like 10% bigger than before?
As a bucc main I also have no idea what got added.
I think they just change the appearance of the skills, nothing changes much in most jobs’ skill, just prettier, that’s all
as a Shadower main I just want meso/bloody explosion to fire off automatically my hands hurt from all the weaving during both mobbing and bossing

As a phantom main getting a dedicated mobbing skill is HUGE. Better ways to get fragments? PRESETS?!

Are 6 job mastery skills just the class' skills, enhanced in some ways?
Maplestory is one of the only games where they will repeatedly nerf or eliminate access to content while shoving garbage down the throats of the playerbase and somehow the eager copers gulp it down and THANK them for it everytime xD. They have deleted items, characters, content, familiar drops, and got literally sued for probability manipulation. Now they are nerfing reboot by like 1/3rd and saying if you play our timegated 6th job you can grind for 500 more hours to get back to where you were before we touched it. Stockholm syndrome + sunken cost fallacies in action and it just hurts to see how good this game couldve been if they just didnt go out of their way every time to shamelessly milk every last penny and second out of us.
I might have been stupid enough to spend 8000 hours but im not gonna spend a single hour more playing a game that doesnt value my time. Enjoy the next 6 months where you gamble to have the stats for your next boss while they release 3 more that you wont have the damage for till 2027. (coppersan still makes great content and made alot of the grind bareable)
It's a 12% damage nerf. Meaningless when you consider 6th job powercreep and any future power creep.
@@codydoms9484 No kidding - I feel like anyone complaining about 12% must be new or purposely forgetting the recentish and massive buff to reboot damage calculations that took people from struggling Hlotus to a level where they were blowing it up like it was normal.... Not to mention that's not even counting 6th power creep as you mentioned...
I'm exclusively reboot only and absolutely tired of the death by a thousand cuts strategy nexon is taking towards reboot trying to get their KMS players (since we know GMS wont switch to reg, they'll just quit) back to regular servers but I mean... With all the recent QoL and making everything more accessible then its ever been this feels like a non issue and for quite a few classes I imagine will even be a overall buff (CD reset on cadena? buff duration on explorer mages etc). It's pointless outrage when in reality reboot is UP GOOD and 2 steps forward 1 step back is still moving forward

It’s like a 13% final damage nerf, which isn’t that big of a nerf considering all the buffs that have been sprayed all over anyway. (I’m including 6th job)

I come back like every year or two and mainly because they never do anything interesting its literally just the same thing with bigger animations on top of them never giving a fuck about my class because it wasnt made by KMS theyre just mad JMS makes more interesting classes so they purposely leave them out. So im wondering if Hayato is gona get a 6th job or any non KMS class. If they removed Jett they wont think twice about deleting Hayato and Kanna if they do i'll never come back. Been fun mapling with you boys
They should legit just delete reboot if there gona keep straight up nerfing it every update save me some time and disappointment before its 2026 and we need 8k legion to do normal damage
Trust me, just choose a class that doesn’t benefit much from 8k over 6k.
