Sinatra couldn't hit those notes, he recognized him as one of the most important voices inviting him in his second duets album with "Fly me to the moon". Sinatra also recognized the talent of Jose Jose, attending to a Jose Jose´s concert in Tijuana, inviting to sign his label, but was not possible in the time.

Malagueña (malagenia is how this must be pronounced, the “u” between a g and a vowel is mute in spanish, unless the u contains ü) is related to a girl who is from Málaga, Spain. So your appreciation is correct, their father was spanish, also a proffesional singer and is the guitarrist of the video, which by the way was his first tv performance

@@marosariocurielrivera4779 not at all, if they pronounce Malagueña as you say, this would sound more like an anglicism, and the song is in spanish.
Although the important thing of every language is to be understanded, it's always flatering when they do an extra effort for pronounce it better, as same as I thank when a native speaker show me the correct way to pronounce their language.
Again thank you guys for set such attention to a latinamerican artist like Luis Miguel.

Thank you very much for reacting to Luis Miguel child, that was his debut with only 10 years. So began his glory and his misery. His father exploited him physically putting him to work and concerts, presentations in television programs in Mexico South America, Spain and Italy without rest, I record albums in Spanish, Portuguese and Italian being a child. His mother disappeared when he was 16 years old shortly after his presentation at the San Remo Festivals in Italy and Viña del Mar in Chile. His father (Spanish) is a great composer, a good musician but a nefarious father, drugged, stole and there are who says he was the one responsible for the disappearance of his mother (a beautiful Italian). His life is fascinating.
Even Mariah Carey is part of their history. They were a couple. They were proud of each other and very much in love.
Please react more to Luis Miguel.

Great reaction video. The moment he starts the chorus and both your jaws drop open is priceless. LM is definitely a living legend. Even today he has amazing power, range, clarity, stage presence and improvisation skills that are unmatched. He's not a pseudo singer like many of today's stars who are very entertaining live performers who don't necessarily sing well live. Luis Miguel can sing the alphabet or the phone book and make it a hit album. He is one of those rare unicorn-like vocalists who is restrained in his studio recordings and unleashes all his power when he is singing live. He actually sounds better live. The man is an enigma.

Thank you for this reaction! You speak very good spanish! specially M-Angel ;)
Malagueña means "woman from Málaga (a spanish city)", and this song is a classic spanish song.
Luis Miguel was 10 years old in this performance, his first presentation on tv.
The guitarrist was his father, Luis Rey, a spanish singer and composer. He has an interesting life and career but not as succesfull as his son; at that point in their lives they had no money so he pushed his son Luis Miguel to perform, aware of his outstanding talent, to maintain the family, and he didn't stop since.

While it talks about a Malaga girl, it's actually a classic Mexican song (you might meant Spanish as in Spanish language as a whole but it's still a song from Mexico)

Thanks for your clarification, I thought it was a spanish song but I was wrong.

    •  Před 5 lety +1

@@alelirivarola1197 It might be confusing cuz Luisito Rey plays it like a Flamenco song here, but it's actually originally a Son Huasteco/Huapango

He was born in Puerto Rico, at the caribbean. His mother is italian and his father from Spain.. Beside this, he was raised at México. He is called The Sun of México. One of the best latin singers from the 80's through nowadays .

The Malagueña Salerosa was composed by Elpidio Ramírez one of the most prolific mexican composers, lirycs about a beautiful woman from Malaga Spain so is Malagueña in a very poetic way he describes his love for her , and his sadness because he is too poor to be acepted and he offer his heart in exchange his poverty. L.M was amazing singing this classic of Mexican music.

People like to compare him to Sinatra because he did a duet with him in the 90s and he has kept a pretty Sinatra-esque image. But in terms of style, music, and impact, he's more Elvis Presley than Frank Sinatra.

It´s difficult to translate but "Malagueña means "woman from Malaga" Malaga is a place in Spain. It's a sad or very sentimental song because he (the author, or singer) is poor and that's why the malagueña would despise him, basically. btw in Spanish, the "u" between "g" and "e or i" is silent. So we say /malageña/
and, yes, Luis Miguel was born to sing, natural, amazing talent... polished but also very well exploited by his father (the amazing guitarrist in the video) as much as he could...like other stories of gold talented kids in the world...
everytime I see this (Luis Miguel's first public peformance on TV) I'm more and more amazed of his talent voice and interpretation... truthly one in ten million

Btw his dad is the guitarist. He was also a singer and once he found out Luis Miguel could sing he used him for his own gain. Luis Miguel barely slept and he had to practice every single day for hours and hours none stop. If you saw the series you would honestly hate him. He even used drugs to keep him woke 😭 I can say he was most definitely worse than MJs dad.

Music Game News I totally agree. His childhood was such a horror (even though he loves singing, basically the only thing he had) he didn’t have any friends. When his mother confronted his father about it he basically manipulated Luis Miguel into thinking his mother didn’t wanted him to be a singer. His father took him away from his mother and little brother and told him that she cheated on him (which was not true). He’s mother later on disappeared from earth, no one knows where she’s at or if she alive. Basically a total mess of an early life. Till he confronted his dad and fired him from being his manager.

There’s actually a whole series on Netflix about his life and he was actually over worked from a little age by his father. The whole family was supported by him and he did not have a childhood at all. He was forced to practice singing day and night and would actually hardly sleep. There was even a rumor that his father gave him drugs to keep him up during shows
