- Tasting the 2nd hottest chilli in the world! This video is setting the scene for the big chilli challenge. Watch the video to the very end to find out what Weedy has in mind. Other than showing off the healthiest Carolina Reaper chilli bush I`ve ever seen, on this episode of Weedy`s Garden Walkabout also we cruise through the Permaculture garden. I show how to prepare a no dig garden bed for the next season of veggies and how to grow pumpkins on a trellis.
Enjoy, comment, like and share. We want the channel to grow as much as these chillis folks :-)

It’s crazy how everything is growing like weed in your Australien garden and not a single blackberry ❤️
Wow... I've never seen anyone, even a Thai person breeze through a Reaper without even blinking. Seriously im gobsmacked 😮
Love it. Cheers from France Weedy
Edit...my god, you got me good mate, I had to make the comment straight away 😂 that ending was pure gold
love your edit mate
@@TheWeedyGarden love your content mate, my passions are Gardening and photography so I love your channel. Makes me homesick too. Thanks so much
I was just up in Lennox Head but no time to drop by… and without an invite! I could have gone to Daley’s, or Cedar’s, or Geoff’s…
How have I not seen your channel before? The amount of work you put into the video wow, well done all around.
Welcome 🤗
Yep, he's a keeper
I have to say you had me fooled when you downed that first chilli with no reaction, I grew a reaper last summer and tried it and I was incapacitated for a good 40 minutes.
great video mate.
Yeah. Sweatin here!!!
I appreciate you sharing your garden journey. I continually look forward to your entertaining videos. Thank you!
Love my Weedy walkabouts! Watching from the Carolinas as my friend Weedy tries to cool off the carolina reaper with cucamelons!❤❤❤
ha ha. tricked you 🫵🏻😝
We've been using turnips as an over winter addition in our pastures for several years. We've seen significant improvements in soil and plant diversity.
Very tricky eating the capsicum instead.😆😆 Lovely walkabout again 👍👍🦘🦘💖💖Cheryl
Oooo lord that's gonna come out spicy 🔥 😆
2.2 million views and he's going to eat a Carolina Reaper, this man's video needs to go viral. I hope we would get to watch it live
Ha! The Aussie larrikan shone through this episode.
Hi Mr. Weedy- have you heard of Tera Petra Soil? It was created by the tribes in the Amazon forest. It’s amazing stuff, groups of scientists have tested soils from all over the world and found that the Tera Petra soil was the most fertile soil on earth. It can be replicated too. It’s worth checking out. Happy garden!
Love your garden , Thank you
Greetings from Palestine
Sorry for whats happen to you guys there :(

David, it burns twice! Remember Johnny Cash’s song… “The Ring of Fire”…😮😅
Loving all your weedy walk about footage Mr Weedy. I like the way you share information. Very fun filming style ❤🎉❤
Thanks so much
I have grown them scorpion chilies before and can’t find anybody to eat them and my yard is full of pumpkin vines but no pumpkin now I no why .great video as always ❤️
Ed Curry inventor of both the reaper and pepper X he is the man 😎👣👣👣
Good morning Mr Weedy. I like your trellis idea with the cattle panels supported by bamboo! Your videos are always amazing! Enjoy the day's blessings.
So nice of you to comment 😃
Best videos ever! I just got some survival seeds from your website! Thanks weedy
Yes I saw that. 👍🌱
Love your pumpkin trellice. Got a pumpkin meets grass situation here too, so thanks for the inspiration.
Here my worst enemy are the pill bugs. They kill everything young and tender. Even mature pumpkin stems get constantly attacked. And the pill bugs looooove mulch.
you make just very nice captures of your garden it gives a great overview. thanks very nice!
Hope u get those 2.2 million views! And those camera's! I grew them once in spain, had the tiniest little bite, and I was dieing for like 30 minutes! They're no joke!

Your goona need your big boy pants for that one!!! OMG maybe not the whole pepper @@TheWeedyGarden
Been growing the super hots for about 12 years that's how I started slow. Little bites and worked my way up. T.Scorpion is my fav You get tolerance and eventually it just hurts the mouth for a bit, occasionally stomach cramping feeling. It doesn't burn coming out anymore 😉
I eat some type of chili or bell pepper at least once a day tho have fun
Love it! lol
Love you weedy, keep up the wholesome work!
Don't eat that chili alone or remote Beautiful video thank you. The clarity, content and editing is top tier. Love the pumpkin tunnel idea.
Thanks for the tip! 👍
The garden walkabout today was inspiring as usual. Gardening here in Florida is so different but yet I still find plenty of advice from you that I can use. Thank you Mr. Weedy!
That’s good to hear 😃
Omgosh , that's insane, we grow them ever year in Louisiana 😅
You're awesome!
So are you man! Thank you 🙏🏻🫵🏻
LOL been watching since covid and I absolutely love this video. Your content is really funny, wholesome, interesting, insightful, thank you.
lol. Good one Weedy. I had a hard time believing you enjoyed a fresh reaper early in the morning like it was nothing. They are fun to grow but I get limited use out of the. Great to just add heat but the flavor of a reaper minus the heat I don't think is great. I have issues with deer, feral cats and other animals looking to snack on some of my young trees and bushes they will chomp them off. I find 1 reaper plant can go a long way to make some decent organic repellent. Knock on wood I don't have bird issues because they can't taste the capsaicin. Just avoid flowering plants because nots not good for the bees and some other pollinators I hear.
Beautiful video, thanks for the pumpkin advice! I love your approach, explaining how the plants think, being in the present.
So nice of you to notice 🙏🏻
Don’t do it weedy! We love you too much 😂
What a legend
Haha I knew it was a bell pepper!!! Love your videos!!!
Chilly sauce 🌶️☯️👣🐓🐝🌻

So well filmed and edited videos! And good content. Thank you. ❤❤
Yes it's a good morning to you from Mollymook Beach Weedy. This video is a keeper. You are one funny son of a gun. Hope you don't do yourself an injury or worse, when you finally eat a Carolina Reaper chilli.
As an aside and because you like music,, have a listen to an old song called Carolina Moon. One of my favourites.
Cheers and keep the vids coming.
Your content is amazing!i am learning so much and my little garden in New Zealand is thriving as a result! Keep the videos coming please! 🙏
Great video! Go for it 🌶️🌶️🌶️
I knew it! I recognized that pepper that you ate and was wondering how you made it look like it was on the same plant!
lol 🤣🤣😁
great video,i am growing a pepper x,already done a carolina reaper,i like to grow but i don't eat them someone else does that.
Thanks for sharing a great fun video again, looking forward to the next one
🌶🌶🌶Thanks weedy😀
How did you get the seeds? Ed said he wasn’t going to make them available to the public?
@@strangeworth A friend bought them,I think it was the chilli kings.
@@lizkellett6700then you don’t have a pepper x you have a pepper ? Bc if it didn’t come from the original breeder you have a “whatever they wanna call it bs”
The seeds came the US in 2021, have you checked chilli kings website?.
Awesome video thanks for sharing
I would rather you didn't eat one. It'll tear you another one. Don't do it!!!
I got a really big laugh from your bad experience! I have seen the tiny melons growing on fences around hay meadows but have never been brave enough to taste. Hope I can see some this summer. Good video Weedy!
I love, Cucumelon... sometimes known as MOUSE MELON... cute eh. I also grew Carolina Reapers. Far too hot for my husband and I, but my friend said they would not be too hot for him. ........ I haven't heard from him yet, what he thought about them... maybe the end of a friendship. Good luck with the chili-tasting, Weedy. Cheers and tears, Muffy from Oz. (Over the Mountains, near Mt Warning)
I like to grow crops when done it feels good.
Lemon balm is one of my favs!😊
Weedy, do you send your cameras off for repair, or do you have to purchase new ones each time? Sunny smiles to you legend!
They taste great most of those super hots have floral and fruity tastes!
I knew you'd do it but didn't think like that!
Hoping to get a nice garden going in about a week.
The Bermuda grass took over my big one so I moved it next to the porch in old wide tires.
My Swiss Chard , spinage and cherry tomatoes are doing great so far.😊
I can say first one to witness….
lol i have the carolina reaper, the ghost pepper, the trinadad pepper and i would not dare dab any of them on my tongue you are a trooper for that lol
Loving these walk throughs, your an absolute genius in the way you speak on behalf of your garden and its millions of occupant's. Your videos help me to calm down at the days end. Out of curiosity what type of Canon DSLR to you prefer to use, if you dont mind me asking, looking to invest in some gear for my journey which we want to document.
5D Mk 4
I grow them too 🙂
Respectapa.
2.2 million is a huge Scoville number. I'm a pretty experienced chili head, and you won't get me to eat a reaper, nor a trinidad scorpion, nor a pepper x ;) ! million SHU is what's used in Australian police pepper spray. ;)
😳
😅you cheeky bugger!! 15:28
Your videography is top notch mate. Maybe a course teaching other greenies how to film for their own channel? I’d buy that (:
Maybe one day!
Dave I've been growing Reapers for a couple of years now & have never had the "balls" to eat one, I've tried & tried to get People who openly boast about loving chilli but alas. I should probably sell them but instead I give them away!
We had a chap here just before xmas who just picked one off and ate it. He didn’t say a word about it and just kept wandering around like nothing had happened. Freak of nature I guess ?
Bet it came back and bit him in the arse next day!😅😅😮
Boom 💥
Hi weedy. I'm James from bonalbo nsw. I grow the carolina reapers too. Just picked a dozen today. I freeze them and add a couple to a nice hot chilli con carne. They last me all year long. I did eat one raw once it took me about 20 mins to eat.
Yes they are quite hot and the smell of capsaisen is insane...😢
Nice work on the pumpkin's Weedy! How many plants are there for all those pumpkin's?
Just two
Fun fact, its even 3rd now after Ed's new record few months back. Project X first, Apollo second, then reaper. I love how he manage to compete and top hes own world records.
I'm sure you can eat cucamelon leaves, like one can eat pumpkin leaves... Just cut finely and cook so the tricones (hairs soften)
Charles Dowding walks all over his beds and says by lengthy numerous year trials that it's better not to fork the beds because it disturbs the fungal networks. But if you have my Chihuahua site with dry concrete clay soil, it's even recommended hacking in with a pick, forming wells and adding organic matter...then leaving it alone once plants grow.
Love the pumpkin trellis.
Safe bet Weedy 🤙 i have a super hot i thought it was just an orange habenero, oh no it's much much hotter than a habenero i think it's a yellow scorpion chilli only 1.2 million Scoville units. A tiny bit of juice on my lip, felt like it was blistered.
Man, I live in Indonesia, Would love to visit your garden if I could.
Maybe one day! 👍
I knew there was something fishy about that chillli you ate
Damn! Dat Reeper got ya good bro!
Neaj. not yet
I thought that pepper didn't look like the rest of the caroline reapers!😆
he he
💚
Haha good one. Really, I don't think you should eat one. I went just a little overboard with some powder once and I'm thinking it could seriously constrict your air ways. The heat is hot, but feeling my airways constrict was scary.
Finally he taste it, 🤣
Ha ha, Weedy I reckon self preservation might kick in after you have dabbed that on your tongue a few days in a row... I used one in a curry once, inedible... The only reason I grow them now is to make pepper spray to keep the wild life out of my passion fruit and grape vines.
I think you might be right.
I think your zucchini and squash plants are suffering from a squash vine borer. Mine do that, and when I open up the rot, I typically find a couple of borers.
Ah! I will look next time. Happens to each and every one once they get huge
🤘🤘
Make a collab eith Chili Claus!
I am in Denmark in July. Can you tell him I’m coming ? 😉😀
I wander if your "hot" receptors are dulled somehow. I'm a fan of heat and I use Carolina Reaper powder and a small dash is enough to be really hot.
Or, I've heard that peppers get in certain growing conditions. I've heard of restricting water however long before harvest to drive up the heat content.
Gosh. I wouldn’t do that! They are hot enough!!! 🥵
❤❤
I enjoy your content. But even if I didnt like gardening, your video quality is so good I would still watch your videos! How much does a new camera cost?
About $3500 Aussie
Not a Z9???
Oh man. You had me about ready to call BS and then I thought to myself: “let’s watch the whole thing first.” LOL! I have a Reaper video on my channel where I do a taste test and make a hot sauce and powder if you’re interested.
I was and I did take a look. Watch where you walk bro 🤣🤣 lol. U make it look easy and how the heck can you taste a slight coconutty flavour with lightning in you mouth?
@@TheWeedyGarden Awesome! LOL, yeah, that dog, man! I've been eating super hots for years and I realized when I was younger that if I just enjoy the capsaicin ride like a roller coaster or a scary movie its super enjoyable. The endorphin dump doesn't hurt either =) If you don't let fear or panic set in you can really enjoy the heat and flavor nuances. Also, the more you eat them the more you develop your palate - tasting notes really start to raise to the surface.
Hey Weedy, forking the garden bed destroys the soil structure. Charles Dowding has been doing No Dig vs. Forking trials for over 10 years and No Dig has at least a 20% increase in harvest. Check him out.
I might be wrong but aerating in this way is part of the no dig method
@@TheWeedyGarden some No diggers do it, but it partly destroys the soil structure. It's only neccessary if a truck has driven over your garden bed. Firm soil is good, just like a forest. Check out Charles Dowding's trials. He's the guru on all this and does videos on his trials. Love your videos man.
@@joshlovegood9392 Thanks for the info 🙏🏻
What a mad lad, eating the pepper just like a strawberry 😵
Btw can you use the pepper for something else in the garden ? Like blending it with water to help against parasites or something like that ?
The chemical (capsaicin) that makes chili spicy only affects mammals. It has no effect on any other organism. This is because capsaicin binds to the pain receptors of mammal tongs to prevent us from crushing the seeds with our teeth. Birds, for example, are not affected by the spice, and you can spot them eating chili some times. They don't grind the seeds when they eat them but actually pass them and at the same time fertilize them.
I have heard that yes, but no real trials from my end. Tried chilli and garlic on grubs but they kept eating
@@ZZzzummeren Aaah yes I forgot that ! Thanks for reminding me :)
Scallywag "chilli eater" 😂
Do u plant anything under the arch for pumpkins and watermelons? Are there shade veggies?
Too dark down there. Tried tomatoes but they didn’t like the shade
Salad leaf veggies and herbs would do very well under there 👍🏻
Go on brother its worth the 2 cameras, plus you can say you've done it and have the proof
Exactly 👍
Those chillies could give u blood blisters on your tongue. I have had that happen when I eat too spicy a food.
Apparently its the body's reaction to a heat source. . Like a blister from a burn.
Dad says you could use the reapers to spray you fences to keep animals away. He says They use Ghost Peppers in India to stop elephants from trampling fences and they’re not as hot as what you have
Make sure you have some milk handy. It's the only thing to reduce your pain. 😅
Reaper = 4th hottest pepper 🌶
Really?
Chocolate primotallis are considered by some to be hotter than reapers...
Best of luck when you do take a bite of Carolina Reaper. I'll bet it burns more than once!!!! Ouch!!!!
😅
Let’s grow grapes
please enable subtitles
that is at your end
Surely the Trood in you will not wuss out of a little spice. They are not that bad, I promise ;)
I think it is the zummer in you fella that gives you those balls (no one but you will get that 😁)🤗😝🫵🏻 but perhaps I might find the Trood I aint met yet 😅
Trust me, you don’t want to eat one no mater what 🤣
Someone gave me a teeny tinny weeny bit a few years ago to try, l think it was the scorpion trinidad, wholy cow, tears running down my face, blood red faced and pretty much immediately had an indigestion. I think l’d rather go swim with sharks and see how that goes 🤪😂🙃
Hey I have a D800 want it ;-)
Like you mean you want to “donate it”?

I would never ever ever try one of these
Ya brother. You want to be around after you eat it to buy those new cameras. There are easier ways to get your cameras. :)
Oh please tell?
