It actually did come to life the c7 stringray actually has a few lines and parts from this concept car
its a damn shame this car never got into production. if chevy ever thinks about making a supercar Corvette... they got the design right here, even so, this baby should have been the C7

the interior on the stingray looks sick!! the gps (screen) is touch screen and real looking

@heartboy86 ur very right, corvette is the plateau of sports car excellence and mustangs aren't near that level yet.
this may be a little nerdy of me, but my favorite part of the car is the futuristic touch screen in the dash. and the steering wheel and gauges.

I would say these are good hints on what the interior of the next gen vet will look like.

@fobxman People may know it the entire lineup as "Corvettes", but everyone also knows that the word "Chevrolet" comes before that. Even back when the ZR1 was still known only as the "Blue Devil", two things were pretty much universal when people talked about it: they were looking forward to the performance specs, but they were still on the fence about a 6-figure car from Chevy, even if it was a 'Vette.
i just have seen the corvette extern and i was thinking how the interior should be if the car is awesome and the interior is so great i really like this car a lot

@kestkr right in its stock form,once you take it off,it's not consider stock, a zr1 with a limiter can reach 217 thou
@rforracing Hybrid seems to be the way of the future, especially considering that petroleum won't be any more plentiful, gas prices will never again be lower than they are, and emissions laws will get even tougher (if that's even possible). I'd personally rather see GM- and specifically the Corvette- leading the way in both innovation and performance.

@planetcheck i cant find anything on what you said about the corvettes. i cant find any information about the Stingray being destroyed or about the phasing out of the corvette in 2011 seeing as 2011 is when GM annouced the C7 should be ready for production

The C7 be priced around as much as the current C6. So not 100k.
@rforracing As it is, performance cars had to compromise a lot from the mid 70's to the late 80's while others ceased production permanently or temporarily (e.g. Skyline GT-R, '77-'89). However, technology is making it easier to have and eat your proverbial cake, which is a very good thing. The Porsche 918 is a perfect example. It takes a badass car to kick ass on the street and track. But truly exceptional cars can do that efficiently. I see no reason why the Vette shouldn't be among them.
@rforracing i wouldnt mind a hybrid option. but as long as they keep the engine up front, 8 cylinders, and rwd then im fine with it.
Make it GM...MAKE IT!!!!! I dont care if it costs 4 million dollars, make it!

@rforracing (LOL) I admire your take on the spirit of true performance cars and even agree with you in principle. And, yes, anybody concerned about mileage, trunk space, and back seats really shouldn't be looking at sports cars. They'd probably be happier with something much more sensible and family-friendly like an Accord, Camry, or Malibu. That said, the reality is that if cars like the Corvette don't keep up with crash and emission laws, they run the risk of dying out altogether.

@bronxboyXXX but you have to remember the vette was made for performance,hell some ferarris don't even come with a CD,even one they tested on top gear a while back looked a go kart on the inside,the vette isn't that bad and plus its way cheaper than most cars it compete against

i personally have no problem with it being a hybrid...just as long as they give you a "sport" mode that enables you to switch off the electric motor, and only use the powerful v8 that i'm sure is in there!

they should make the stingray like another thing you can buy like Z06, GS, or a zr1 like make it like that except bigger motor then the GS and the body like the c3's.

@hotkarl92 well you need to read a little better because last i check a STOCK gt500 top outs at 155 unlike the a grand sport and didnt i say it will it kill it, i said the slowest vette is still faster than the fastest stang,so please read the comments before you reply

So you're are saying that the most powerful, fastest sports car in the U.S., and possibly the world, if going to quit production because of a slower, non-competitive Mustang? I'm sure. They never were *has beens*, since the govt. made them, they reduced power, but in '85, they came back, and has been on top. I'm not in denial, the only proof is wat your saying, which isnt saying much at all, so i'm done arguing. We'll see in 2012. LongLiveTheCorvette!

@planetcheck HA! GM isn't that stupid, the Corvette is America's sports car, and it's everything America's got for competing with foreign exotics. It's a bang for your buck, and it's nearly bullet proof in every aspect. Maybewhat you're thinking is that the C6s will end in 2011, so then the C7s will come out, and may possibly look like the Stingray here. (Although I kinda like the traditional look) The Dodge Viper is said to not return after 2011, but as for the Corvette...Give me a break, man.

even though i cant afford probably never will be able to afford it i would go to a dealership n look at it n hopefully sit inside the car. if u dont like the carbon fiber then oh well i dont like it to much either but it dose make the car a lot lighter n besides u can pait over it
@planetcheck 2011 is not the last year for the Corvette. They are doing a total redesign. Learn something before you speak.

@bronxboyXXX i understand that but when it boils down to it,it was made simply for performance and you can get a ltz version in a vette,yes it will cost more but a fully loaded 2ltz will cost you no more than 150,000 that's still considerely cheaper than most of its competition,but lets be honest,how many 2ltz vette will they sale,not many becuase many people buy it for its performance,they can laugh and talk shit all they want,it's their job to if they hate vettes
@thewalrus141 you can shut down 2 cylinders in per pushing a button to reach more MPG and if you want to go badass use the 8 cylinder
