Hello mate. Great videos very informative. I’ve been racing gas 42 inch boats for years so being able to watch your videos as you’ve done most of the research is good. I do have one question. In gas we don’t run the drive dog touching the stinger, we run a 2-3mm gap. I’m sure if you ran a tiny gap between the stinger and the drive dog you’d go a lot faster and and probably less temps on the motors. Anyway. Thanks for all the info saves us tons of time.

That was unbelievable BB , I cracked my V1 from the front to half way down the side but I hit concrete after it ran aground . but all glued up ok now. they really are a great boat.

Dang! That was simply the most awesome stunt ever with an RC boat. I bet you could never pull that off if you tried on purpose. If that isn't a testament to quality I don't know what is. I bet you would have cracked a seam if that was a V1 Sonic though which still fixable. Hard to make that claim with any other boat. I agree that the Sonicwake is a beast. It's always the first boat I run when I hit the pond to test the waters before I run my other, less durable hulls. Nice camera work there Big "B"! I also agree with you saying that the OSE 150 is an upgrade; I've not had the best success with the spectrum ESC's in boats or RC cars. They're good ESC's to get started with, but if you plan to explore with different props and push the speed to the edge, then you will need an upgrade. The OSE 150 is the best ESC you can get for under $80 period!
I know right if the boat wouldn't of landed on the bush it would of been much worse. Really disappointed that the camera switched over While I went to retrieve my boat out the dirt 😫 go figure. v2 is tough as nails that's for sure ironcladed out 😆

Go for it! X8s should fit perfect in the SonicWake. Don't think you need the Hydra save yourself 100 bucks.

Hi man, I've been watching all your videos, really enjoyed them. I'm very interested in the sonicwave V2. It looks very impressive. Just wondering if you have heard of the hydro pro inspection from hobby king. I have this boat and really enjoy it. If you could ever do a review it would great. I also just wondering if you have any ideas for improving the performance ie prop and a replacement motor, any help would be much appreciated thanks!!
You'll like the V2. it's one tough as& boat. The hydro pro is a nice looking rig I've been looking at it for quite some time

What did you do to finally stop that water leak ?
Whats happening is I take the boat out and run it a few times and have to bring it back in
To empty the water out through the Drain Plug !

I reinforced my v1 with drywall tape shoe goo and topped it with flex tape all the way up the seem. I’ve crashed it just like this 10 or more times no issue.
I saw a joysway split in half crashing into a wave and that just turned my off. But this crash shows how good plastic's can be at absorbing a crash. Holy F!

Does anybody know if there is a replacement for the thumb screw capture nut that mounts in the top of the hull for the canopy not the thumb screw itself the other part that it screws into. This is a great boat
Are you setting the end point adjustment for full throttle ? it doesn't sound like full RPM to me ? I maybe wrong ? Keep on hauling the mail bro. lol

I’m running everything stock but the Batteries are spectrum but the wrong connection, it’s should be ic5 but on mistake I bought ic3, so should I bite the bullet and just buy spectrum ic5 or do you recommend a different battery
If you know how to solder you can change the connection to ic5 easily, I wouldn't recommend using a ic3 to ic5 adapter, you'll melt the Ic3 connection.... local hobby shops will solder battery terminals for cheap.
Did you play with the timing on the stock ESC?
