Spargo's style works better imo, it's a bit predictable but still it's the best choice.

I feel like Byleth fits MkLeos playstyle completely. He's a master of spacing and edge guarding and Byleth is so good at punishing mistakes on both fronts.

Cosmos is that one player who I swear is right fuckin there man, he just needs a little more oomph and he’s a top top threat.
He just needs to use Pyra more

Cosmos Aegis has improved a lot. I'm very surprised at how well he did it. Actually, once again I thought Leo was going to lose but you know... anime protagonist.

Even though Leo clutched it out as expected, I've rarely seen him look so lost on the ledge as he did this set.
My exact thoughts. Mythra speed is incredible. He was lost
I've been saying this to a lot of people. It's not easy to get out of ledge with Byleth. Leo just played him so well upto this point that that weakness wasn't too apparent.
Cosmos is carried by his character really hard.

I remember in Larry's interview Cosmos mentioned how he plays Aegis simply bc he likes the character. I feel like that can translate into a rlly good mindset when ur competing like reminding u to have fun or not getting too nervous. Definitely happy for him and hope he continues to improve.
Chat was so toxic to cosmos in the stream… they both played well and good on cosmos on getting better versus leo byleth. Both players are fantastic

After watching most of this tournament live so far, it's apparent that people are really starting to learn the Byleth match up. This whole tournament has been crazy so far.
No one can learn the mu when there's only one player playing this character at this level

That's not necessarily true. Nairo, for example, was playing Cosmos a lot and using Byleth.
Top players tend to have friends that are extremely competent at the game and can give pretty good practice even if they aren't the best with a certain character.
I really don't know why Cosmos never wants to use Pyra, we've seen Spargo and Leo effectively switching when they need to close the stock. I bet Cosmos could get some of those dair confirms too. On higher percentages pretty much any Pyra move will kill.
He fears to get totally dominated by leo. Pyra is slow and her moves are predictable. They are also large and have priority, working against most of player but not against leo who would just punish every steps...
Mythra is fast and her perfect avoid saved him many times offensively.
Okaaaay... So explain why Spargo does so well playing mainly Pyra?

His pyra is really really bad in comparison to other aegis players, and against a character like byleth, mythra's speed is generally better in most situatuons

He learnt a lot from the set going to game 5. He doesn't do those on purpose.

@@lokks2130 I think the pressure to come back pushes our awareness, vigilance and the effort to take stock. It's sometimes quite obvious to me I knew when I win game 1 then 80% I'll lose game 2 LOL.

19:10 after shielding the nair, Leo rolls since he knows Cosmos rolls as well.
Then Leo does a nair but since Mythra pops out (idk if Leo knew that it would happen) he runs into his shield to bait a grab and dashes back to try to punish with the back air.

That last game cosmos really started to choke . He was so close . That last stock the run back killed him staying in the mid range of byleth playing close to the chest was the move.

Damn Cosmos was so close. Seems like he’s been focusing even more exclusively on Mythra, which seems to be paying off overall although I can’t help but think that a bit of Pyra sprinkled in there could have helped him clutch it out.

Leo's ofc 100x better of a player than i, but i rly don't get PS2 as a counterpick as Byleth. widest side blastzones when the char loves killing w tipper bair and f-tilt, longest stage- so therefore least time
spent off the stage by both u and ur opponent- when the char is very proficient at ledge-trapping and has a phenomenal recovery
Once Cosmo uses just a little bit of pyra I think he could through opponents off so much.
It really irked me how he never switched to Pyra to end some of those stocks early. Cosmos was owning the edge game 5.

Cosmos needs to bust out Pyra more. Way too many hit confirms woth Mythra at high percent range that don’t kill where just one from Pyra would have finished the job to take the stock. Byleth put on too much percent while at 100+
Mythra already has so much going for her, she doesn’t need foresight. Game 2 was literally just leo getting punished for an opponent air dodging.

You are switching from a character that can overwhelm Byleth to a character that is slower, has less range, ass disadvantage which is death against Byleth, and gets edgeguarded anyway. You have to stay mythra in this MU because it is not smart. Is like comparing the Bowser VS Ganon MU. Bowser is just better at EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING. Same with Byleth vs Pyra, Byleth is better at EVERYTHING, the only advantage Pyra has is the lack of sourspots close range, and thats it, Pyra in this MU suffers, while Mythra AT THE VERY WORST has a slight advantage over Byleth
