Tommy not only plays "Nu grönskar det" the guitar solo in the end is a song named "Idas sommarvisa" from one of Astrid Lindgrens movies/children's books which in Swedish is called Emil i Lönneberga. 😀
This song is played on the last day of school every year in Sweden to celebrate the summer break. Also the song he played in the guitar solo, Idas sommarvisa is sung to celebrate summer.
Two relativly fast paced versions. In Sweden we normally sing Nu Grönskar Det in a more solemn fashion. While the song is not a hymn it is often sung in church. I would say the traditional version is more beautiful while Sareks and Tommys versions adds some playfulness and energy!
Two very cool renditions, which both stay rather true to the original. The original does have one high note and a following dipthtong that thousands upon thousands of school children have stumbled on through the years. Let's say that Sarek avoided that note and Tommy didn't!😂 Not the 'scream' he did at one point, but in another phrase of the song. Tommy took that note and dipthtong in his stride. A true musician in all he does.
As another person already has mentioned, the Sarek version is an up tempo version, and almost consider to be categorized as "folk techno". The original is in much slower phase. But great concept to compare these two versions against each other since both of them is more fast phasing and have their own twist on the "original".
