@@warriorscholar6633 ESPN wasn’t happy with the ratings and revenue it was generating and Skip asked Stephen A to come on the show. I remember in 2011-2012 that Stephen A was on the show on Wednesdays and people was anticipating the show every Wednesday. Stephen A and Skip's chemistry took the show to new heights. Stephen A was basically doing Skip a solid and it worked out great. He’s basically saying thank you to Skip without saying thank you.

The show saw drastic increase when it changed its format.. which just happened months before SAS joined full time.. it was already on the upswing because of the nee debate style..Then you say SAS did Skip a solid by joining the show when he wasn't working and wasn't going to be giving his own show?? More like Skip did SAS a solid by giving him a platform or opportunity he wouldn't otherwise have had.. Giving someone their flowers is not an indirect thing that is happenstance.. it's stopping and being very direct about your praise, appreciation and gratefulness.. SAS by no means did that in the clip

He's saying that when Stephen A came onto the show, their ratings dropped when it came to MNF. Stephen A is changing his story. He basically insinuated that Skip begged him to join the show because it needed help and Skip just wasn't cutting it. Then. when confronted by Skip, said that Skip just wanted another permanent host, and chose him. It had nothing to do with ESPN not liking the numbers the show was getting. The statement he released is very different than the words he said in the interview.
