And as their troops move up, and we are pushed back, I sit here in agony and pain, distress and fear. We’re being pushed back miles at a time, we can’t hold them back anymore, we just can’t. Their tanks roll over our entrenchments like it is nothing.
Half of my platoon is lost, and the casualties keep mounting up every time I look around. I order my men, I call out names, but those names do not respond anymore…. They’re gone. Finished. Shot. Dead.
I see the fires, I see their guns blazing, coming at us. Deep inside I am afraid. Deep inside I am scared, deep inside I want to cry. Deep inside I want to flee. We all do.
But we have a mission to do, a country to defend, a people’s future to secure. I have kids back home, I have a wife back home, I have a mother and father, a grandfather and grandmother, an uncle and aunt, a brother and sister... I simply have too much to give up on. I don’t want this horrific war to end up on their doorstep, so I will stay put and fight.
The odds are not speak comforting words, but it is speaking the words of hell. And although I fear these words, I stand here and now to defy them. We cannot give up on this town, we must finally put an end to this, to their advance.
My mind is telling all kinds of things that I’m not certain about, but I am certain about one thing, and that is stopping the enemy’s advance from getting any closer to the hearts of our people. At any cost.
So I grab the radio from my dead comrades back, I look at all the battle hardened and weakened comrades that are left, one by one I look at them. I get a confirming nod from them all, and I call out on the radio:
“PRIMARCH, THIS IS CLUBBER 1-ACTUAL, WE ARE BEING RUN OVER, WE CANNOT HOLD BACK THIS ADVANCE ON OUR OWN! WE NEED IMMEDIATE FIRE SUPPORT ON OUR POSITION! REQUESTING BROKEN ARROW, BROKEN ARROW!”
And as I get a confirmation over the radio and a last goodbye from the commanding officer, we, hear the artillery guns roaring in the distance. We are only a few seconds away from our inevitable fate, and so I grab a photograph, look at all it stands for, as it shines bright as the sun’ rays at my face. But at the very last, I look at my men, we all hunker down together to await our demise, and we tell eachother:
“See you on the other side, brothers.”

Love the music ah yes it does sound like Gandalf- the picture is disturbing however... New star wars trilogy is utter trash.... And the 'new' characters, kathleen kenedy, ruined johnson and disney are to blame. Replacing Luke, Leia, Han and Chewy with cardboard characters like Rey, Finn and Poe- with Kylo replacing Vader?
