My Smallrig FreeBlazer AD-100 just arrived yesterday and I've given it a stress test, The middle spreader seems fine once tightened (circular knob) and all around it's unbeaten for the cost. I highly suggest to anyone in need of a faster tripod. 3. With the scale of your business, why not just go straight to the top and get a set of Sachtler Flowtech legs?
For the longest, my main tripod has been my manfrotto with the 504hd fluid head. Works perfect and is solid. I swapped the legs with the small rig one and while I do agree it is great for lower end, however the Sirui legs at only $549 is was WAY better deal. Sachlers are great but never had any real rivals until this one from Sirui in my opinion. Truly appreciate you watching and subbing 🥹🥹

This product definitely looks amazing, and the price point. I'll however weary and wait and see how this holds up long term, and how good is the customer support when those latches stop working. I recently invested in a Sachtler and love it. More importantly I loved the reputation of the brand. Very expensive, but if it's the last tripod I'll ever have to buy in my career it's worth it.
@@JustinPorterMedia I actually took the chance on YC onions carbon fiber monopod, and the single latch lever stopped working, and the customer support was not there. End of story that monopod is now in the garbage and went with a more reputable company.
Aight was looking at many tripods, SmallRig Freeblazer+ADPro8, Manfrotto 504X+Alloy Tripod, Tilta 75mm Cine Fluid Head w/ 12kg Tripod. But I think I am sold on the Sirui SVT75 Pro, both for the tripod legs ease of adjustment and lock, the fluid head looks like it has a very good micro adjustment system over the other fluid heads named, you are right when you say investing in a good tripod is something you should consider, once you have that tool you know you have spent good money on something that is going to work for you on the day and can rely on it to get the shots you need, great review keep the videos coming!!

That fluid head is monsterous, as nice as it might be I don't think Im traveling with that one to weddings, I'd rather stick to a Manfrotto 502 or 504. The packed size-to-quality ratio seems sufficient for our hybrid cameras. BUT that quick release for Manfrotto 501 plates... that's niiiiice I need that on manfrottos asap
It's for more than weddings for sure. If you're just looking for a tripod safety angle then yea, theres alternatives. I utilize the pan and tilt fluid system and use my tripod alot in interview/ out of wedding events. That's where having an really good one makes a world of a difference.
Man great review. I have been trying to find a comparison to the Sachtler for a while. I noticed they changed the style of the locking mechanism to a screw type. Great price for sure. I am still rocking my FS5MIIs but hope to upgrade one day once I can dedicate more time to client work. This is a great setup.,
What would be cool if they had the mid spreader become a table top tripod and made the fuild head quock release like the other smaller tripids to compact smaller
They discontinued this model, likely because sachtler had an issue with the similarity of adjustment handles. No mainstream places have it in stock but a few random websites do, cinegear based in the Netherlands is one. I'd suggest buying while still in stock bc they won't last. Now sirui replacement model has twist-lock legs 😭

Great video! I'm also a fan of Sirui tripods and have 2 that I've been using for a few years now. One's for a spotting scope, and the other is for my small Sony camcorder. They are both of Excellent Quality throughout. You can just feel it when you move the legs and just simply handling them. Too bad a lot of people knock them because they're made in China. Heck, even my FatBoy Tripod that I use for shooting is made in China but is considered one of the best out there for that. Buy the product, I say, not where they're from. and btw, I'm gonna look into this Sirui SVT75 Pro since there's a lot of people out there liking it!

Essentially a China clone of the flowtech 75 at 1/4 of the price Personally prefer my speedlock 75 sachtler, you can find them cheap used, also has notch mechanism and weights 1.5 kg less making it better for travel.

I have a small Nikon Z9 camera. It only weighs 4 or 5 pounds depending on the lens. I'm guessing it won't balance on the Sirui head. Should I buy it anyway?
The counter balance isn’t supposed to return to horizontal… it’s supposed to stay where you point it. People really will say anything for a sponsor payout.

I also have this tripod and you're right, it's way heavier than I expected. This is both a good and bad thing. On the negative side, it's unwieldy in casual situations with light set ups. On the positive side, that weight in the fluid head is because it can handle ridiculously heavy rigs. Like you can have a cinema rig with all the fixings attached and this hold it and keep it stable easily. So it depends on the situation you are using it in if it is a pro or a con.
@@thisiseric I agree with you. I think if you’re using a small mirrorless and a 70-200 you could always use the fluid head with lighter legs. Just like I did with my manfrotto head and the small rig tripod legs.
It is perfect for mirrorless setups. Depending on what you're filming though that should determine if you need a robust tripod. For example, my studio cameras are all on super cheap 3pod v3ah tripods. Perfect for studio work because they just sit there lol

YC Onion PINETA PEAK is the only decent alternative option in the same price range currently, but i'd rather wait for the Sirui SVT75 PRO replacement as it looks like it has a much better video head, if you urgently need tripod legs the YC Onion looks like a solid option.
Unfortunately, as respectfully as possible I disagree :) I have used the Sirui and compared it to my aktiv 6 w/flowtech legs and they are are in two different class ranges! Don't get me wrong the Sirui is an amazing budget tripod but that is what is is budget. That being said as a 3rd tripod it is great! I definitely will be picking one up for my third shooter as right now I am currently using an Sachtler ace which isn't the greatest. My opinion is if you can afford to by Aktiv flow tech combo definitely do it you will not regret it! @@JustinPorterMedia

Hey. That is so awesome. Congrats on your first cam. This tripod would definately help in a sense that you can get really smooth left and right pans. I purchsed so many inexpensive tripods in the past and I will say it is worth it to just bite the bullet and invest in one solid tripod early on in your journey. When the time comes and you are doing weddings, it'll be perfect for that as well.
I can not get my tripod legs to adjust. I lift up on the leg handles and they don’t go up all the way? Do I have to loosen the handle when I first get it?

The crane 3s is a manfrotto 501 plate correct? You should be able to go gimbal to tripod with a Sirui using the same plate that mounts to the gimbal :)

I am actually thinking to attach a Neewer arca swiss to the gimbal plate and then also the same Neewer arca swiss base plate to the tripod. Then I don't have to calibrate if I swap. I use the Came-TV fake Arri Trinity suit + Crane 3S so even more of an issue if I have to calibrate.
@@scenicshoots yes I don’t like arcs Swiss because you have to essentially mount an arcs Swiss release on everything. The manfrotto is a lot more universal
BUT I don't think it will last. It has alot of plastic like the feet and middle spreader. The Sirui, Manfrotto or even sachler are built to last years. @@HwayVision

That’s strange. I didn’t have to adjust anything except the top plate. Just the lock was a tad loose for my plates.
