    Appreciate the video. Have a 2016 Keystone Hideout and they lights just went out. Couldn’t find a parts manual or anything of the sort. You have saved me a major headache! Thank you.

    I've always wanted to know how to connect after market LED strips to the existing awning light strip and your video showed exactly what I wanted to see. Nice work.
    By the way, as far as deterring varmints from crawling around your RV, I bought those ultrasound pest control and plugged it into an extension cord and throw it under the trailer overnight. So far no mice or any critters.

    Dang seems like a lot of money for an LED strip. But at least you did it yourself and saved labor. Nice!🇺🇸💪

      Yup, I had dealer quote me for light and install and it was north of $300’s… 👍🏾🇺🇸

      The equivalent light strip on ebay was 17 bucks for 16 feet

    Thank you for showing this. I'm replacing my 5 year old OEM light strip today and was trying to figure out where to shorten the strip. I'll be buying the pack of solder/butt splice connectors next. You reviewed that for me without intending to! Butt splice humor aside, you are butting or placing the connecting copper strands together and then saw der ing them together. Hopefully you will get a tiny spiff from that purchase.

    Helpful video, thanks. (FYI, the way you are pronouncing "solder" is the British pronunciation. Most folks in the US will pronounce it "sah-der".)

    I needed to replace mine a year ago and couldn't find a video for it. This video will come in handy for a lot of people! And yes, lights underneath deter the critters.

      I too had a tough time finding a video but someone told me what to do which made it super easy. Thanks, I figured because when I stayed in Louisiana, a lot of people had lights under their rigs 👍🏾

      I have that strip too but they should be pretty easy so long as you have a ladder tall enough to get to them. You could lower the front jacks as far as they will go down too. Thanks 👍🏾

      No problem Howard, I wish they were better quality but we are talking about RV components lol. You could get 10+ years out of them but based off of what others have said, 3-5 years is really good 👍🏾

    Nice job. Thanks for the Info. How did you get new strip back in the holder? Did you start on one end and pull the strip?

    • @JB_WhoWork
      @JB_WhoWork  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks Greg, it slides right in and I did not use adhesive and 3000 miles later, it hasn’t moved one inch. You can put a little silicone on each side if you prefer more security 👍🏾

    How did you get the existing LED out of the awning track? Mine feels like it’s welded in there

    • @JB_WhoWork
      @JB_WhoWork  Před 2 lety +3

      I used pliers which took me about 20 minutes. Once you get a good grip, it all comes out together. If it’s super stuck, get a heat gun to loosen the adhesive 👍🏾
