Can we all just take a moment to give a shout out to Sina's dad, who has raised a great daughter, and encouraged and enabled her to flourish. Great job dad!
Agreed, and while a girl's relationship with her father is very important, I think Mom has something to do with it as well. I've read that she is some sort of accomplished vocalist. I think mom and dad's genes mixed very well, both with Sina and Little sis. :)
@@NihongoGuy Yes, absolutely. Great parents! Kudos to them both.
Michael is just the best....coolest guy ever
SHOUT (this is as big as my font will give me)!!!
@@arno-luyendijk4798 Hahaha
George Harrison wrote this song for his wife, Pattie Boyd.
Pattie Boyd then left George for Eric Clapton.
And years later in Japan: George and Eric performed this song together...
Respect to you, George!
I didn't know all of that. Very interesting and thanks for sharing!
It was the other way around!
Wasn't "Layla" also written by for Pattie by Clapton?
he said it wasnt made for anyone it was supposed to be universal
@@musoangelo he based it on a book about some persian princess called Layla, because his love for Pattie felt as unreachable as in the book. The fun thing is, when she find out, she felt too guilty to leave George. It was only after Clapton told George how he felt and George said it would be better that way, that Pattie got married to Clapton.
This is the best version I have ever heard, best vocals, great drumming, the orchestral support is dreamily good. I cannot say enough about this trio of cooperation to make a masterpiece live again as a daughter rising up to pay tribute to a fallen father. It's very nostalgic and so beautiful. I keep coming back to this for a pick-me-up good feeling.
It's a great rendition, but it's actually the same way Paul plays his version live... so it's a great cover of Paul's cover ❤
This song is so beautiful in its original form, and any cover version I've ever heard is a pale imitation. This version though is amazing. It interprets a classic, remaining true to its spirit and yet displaying something else, a "je ne sais quoi". You ladies have done amazing work. I do think George Harrison would enjoy this version of his classic. This is truly uplifting work.
@Wenry Jones I am familiar with that version which you linked to, but I think this is a better version of that arrangement. I did not mean to imply that I thought this was an original form of a cover. But I prefer this version to any other cover, regardless of who inspired the actual form.
She is beautiful.
What does "je ne sais quoi" mean?
@@NoName-zn1sb it means "i don't know"

When I see young people playing great music, it makes my day.
Brian Lucas Agreed. Unfortunately all we see is young people playing covers. They are more tribute bands then ever before. When was the last time any band of young people WROTE a song like this?
Some thought sir...
You're right, John.
John Morris not all young bands play covers try the warning 3 sisters that have there first Cd a great band already even though very young
Brian Lucas frickin A 😎😲🔜
John Morris, nobody writes a song like this because it is possibly the greatest love song ever written.

Love it. Forever.
Finally, the right singer for the right drummer

AMAZING JOB FROM EVERYONE INVOLVED!!! MORE PLEASE!!!! 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
That was AWESOME! Love her voice, hypnotic to listen to. I think George would be impressed.
This song has magical melody lines and Avonlea brings them out so beautifully here with her tender ukulele. Mike makes an excellent job with his immersive and weeping solos. Sina’s way of playing is majestic and excellent as always and she gives credit to one of her idols. Rick is always so modest but makes excellent job with the orchestration. You are all so wonderful.❤
I've got goosebumps! From the second this started playing till the end chills ran through my body. This is just an INCREDIBLE take on a classic Beatles song. Left me breathless for sure. You would be hard pressed to find anything like this out there. OUTSTANDING work from the vocals (Avonlea you are spectacular!) Sina's spot on drumming and finally getting to see the mastermind Mike (Sina's dad) not only show casing his musical talents (bass and guitar) but his edit and production work on this is Superb. TDDT, The Doering Dream Team is a force to be reckon with. Thank you so much ladies and gents! You are a blessing to the world! Now I'm gonna play this another 10 times or so and share it with EVERYONE!
Wow, thanks so much, Steve, that must have been about the nicest comment I ever read! Feeling very flattered :) though we must not forget about Rick Benbow (check out his Strings arrangements for Status Quo's AQuostic Albums). He did all keys and orchestral parts for this recording. So proud to work with him!!
I speak from the heart Sina. Just saying it like it is. Totally blown away with this one. If you could only see my face now. I'm actually shedding tears of joy with this one. I think of your Dad and how long he has been playing this music and now finally doing this with his daughter. Pretty sure he is one of the PROUDEST people in the world. Repin if you like I edited and it took it away. Fan For Life from Patreon :)
Steve J what a perfect tribute to a wonderfully talented musical family. I ready enjoyed and appreciated your heartfelt comment!
Steve J I couldn't agree more with you :)
Went back and listened with headphones realllllllllllly loud. :) Ohhh yes Sina without Rick's presence it would surely feel different. Thumbs up to him for sure. Truly beautiful. 1/06/17 It has got to be fun for you Sina. 2017 Is shining already! To go from basically being born a Beatle fan, to watching your Dad in his tribute band your whole life, now to playing & producing this breathtaking video with him! So Proud for you guys! Always anxious to see what is up your sleeve next. Tuesday Tutorials 1/10 :)
I love Avonlea's voice. She's got soul. Beautiful. You two are amazing talents.

I totally agree she makes it her own style which i love
Best cover of this song I have ever head, Ringo should be proud
The singer is amazing!!!
Just great. George Harrison would be proud.
Frank Sinatra said this was his favorite Lennon-McCartney tune. Lame. Yes, George would be proud.
I feel the same way. George loved covers of his songs, but this one is, to date, the best version I've heard. And I normally hate Beatle covers (being a huge Beatles fan). But this one blew me away from beginning to end.
renato patta Who's the guy on the guitar?...Nobody has mentioned him...This song is what it is in a good part because of George's slide guitar part in it...This kid actually sounds pretty good, but no one ever did that part like George Harrison...Yet, I agree with most here...This is by far the best cover of "Something" I've ever heard...And I've heard a lot!
The White Album was always my favorite..
Sina's father played bass and guitars. Watch them both play Wipe Out (by The Surfaris).
renato patta for sure
The Singer is extraordinarily gorgeous❤😍
I'm in love
@@jamesflynn1945 You guys are getting pretty creepy. she's a kid.

Avonlea my platonic love ❤😍💖💓💝💓💖😍❤
Who else started to cry listening to how beautiful this is?
Yes, I am crying a little... This version should be featured on The Beatles Channel on Sirius XM.

Agreed. If people can get past Avonlea's looks, they'll discover she has a great voice.
This is Psul Mccartney's arrangement, premiered on 'The Concert For George' trubute concert a year after Harrison passed.

I bought this song to be able to listen to it on my trip when internet is not available. Aonlea voice is so delightful, I wish I can hear more songs of you 4 together. Thank you Sina for putting this video together for the eternity.

I listened to this version about a 100 times, but can't stop pressing repeat! I love it so much!
The absolutely sick tom-tom runs - powerful but perfectly mixed in - elevate the passion of this piece. Outstanding covers of their parts by all of the artists here. Amazingly done.
I came across this video by accident as I was surfing CZcams. To say I was floored is an understatement! This beautiful redition of a Harrison classic by these talented young people gives me hope for the future. Bravo!!!😎🎸🎶

Wow! Excellent musicianship (actually, it's outstanding) and what a beautiful voice Avonlea has! In 50 years of hearing covers of "Something," I've never heard one done this nicely. Thanks for sharing.
Amazing tribute, I keep listening to it over and over again!!!
I dont usually love Beatles's covers but I will make an exception on this one. This is awesome, it actually brought tears to my eyes, which is a sign of real and great music. The purity of the voice, the simplicity and beauty of the playing, the rhythm, the mood of the song, truly exceptional.
Thank you so much!!
diver dave She didn't come up with the drum part, Ringo did. All this drummer did was just learn the part and play it. The drums sound better because of technology. And...No your wrong. She dosen't play it better...SHE ONLY LOOKS BETTER PLAYING IT.
John Morris - Ringo also had those beautiful single stroke rolls down, which created a beautiful effect. Ringo also mastered the subtlety of the son, creating it's classic atmosphere.
Sina is awesome, and still learning. Her interpretation was stellar, but to master the original.... That's would take more study than to rock through it.
Ringo's sound was fantastic, and if the Beatles' hadn't innovated the controlled drum tones, Sina's drums wouldn't have sounded like they do.
Me too Michael. I usually don’t like Beatles covers Ethier. But this one is very good.
You big BABY !! Me TOO
Godamn ! That couId well be the best version of Something that I have ever heard. Well done ladies.
Thanks, Graham!
It is the best version. I am about to say it is better then the original when it come to arrangement and production. piano should have been turned up a little and I wish they would have had 2 versions. one with her singing she and one with her singing He. but still perfect to the max.
Its a good one.Its a contender.
Very well could my favorite version, also!
That was such a beautiful version of the Beatles song something that I actually started to cry, this band belong in lights on tv on the radio.
Not just you tube so let's all fight for this band and put them where they belong! I just can't believe how beautiful that was and that girl has a seriously beautiful voice.

i have cochlear implant 18 months ago at 50 yo, just never heard so much sound in my life, carpets squish too much, eating is noisy, fridge hums clock ticks (removed the clock), this beautiful music video is amongst the clearest song to follow as i had to learn to hear again retrain my brain jumping from 120 dB+ below to 29 dB in hearing ability, stunning experience to say the least!...Avonlea you sing wonderfully, I like your Kylie Jenner song too, SIna drums smoothly, all this saved me sanity and helped me learn to hear music and eased my soul to appreciate this very sweet mischievous performance, absolutely gorgeous
Avonlea has a special, strong and resonant voice.I like it!
Beautiful harmonies girls :) George would be proud. One of the best love songs he ever wrote.
George must be just a'smiling up there, whoever thought a ukulele was more than just a toy.
One of the best Beetles covers ever.
It can be argued that “Something” was the greatest Beatle song ever written.

Written by the late George Harrison.
Wow... what a song.
What a performance 🌹
I think George would be elated and honored to see and hear this lovely version of his music being played, and embraced by yet another generation (and even more so with it being played on a Uke!). Ringo would most likely be honored too! Thank you, ladies (and your guitar player too) for giving all of us, this beautiful gift!

This cover deserves a place next to the performance that was given us in "Concert for George"

Anton Tony It’s crap.
Anton Tony It’s an insipid, vacuous ruination
@@personalcheeses8073 why is that
Kristina Winter this is basically how Paul performs this song.
OK, it was at the release of this song, some fifty years ago when working my way through college as a rock and roll deejay. "No one will ever cover this Beatles hit and do it in a way that will impress me."
In 2019 I admit "I was wrong "
Damn...this is great.
this isnt even a good cover though? too much doctoring on every level.
take away the person who produced this and it would be utter garbage.
If you would really want to get impressed then look up Concert for George where they did this song and that blew me away
I'm a huge Beatles fan and usually hate other people's versions of their music....this however is a glorious exception! The singer is both beautiful and talented with a lovely voice. This interpretation based on McCartney's version at the 'Concert for George' works brilliantly at both the musical and the emotional level (especially the emotional level) This may well be the best ever cover of a Beatles' song.
Correct a fantastic cover.
I absolutely love this .. simply brilliant .. stunning performance from both of you .. really exceptional
Blew me away. I've watched it three or four times a day since I discovered it a week ago. Really takes off when Sina kicks in. Great moment.

Such a lovely song they performed so great. Can't stop listening.
Other than the original version by the Beatles, this is my second favorite version of this song. Avonlea has a great voice and sang the song spot on. Of course Sina on the drums, Ringo himself could not have done it any better. I was born in the 50's so I remember the Beatles very well, and still have many of their songs. I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling about things too often, however seeing these young people performing these classic songs and performing them VERY well does give me a warm fuzzy feeling. I have found that more and more young people are actually listening to the music of the 50's 60's 70's and 80's and they are LOVING the music. MANY actually prefer it to the music (If you can call it music) from today. Keep it up ladies, I got a feeling it will pay off BIG someday soon. You young ladies have the looks, you have the talent and skills, and I think you have what Simon Cowell says is the likeability factor which is HUGE. So girls you are heading in the right direction, just keep it up your day WILL come.
Great singing and Sina doing such an excellent job of channeling her inner Ringo! My favorite Beatles song.
