Finally! U are spot on. Tucson is an amazing car and with massive legroom. But due to the lack of basic marketing nobody knows abt this. Buck up Sime Darby!

They need to lower their price to sell well. One part people don't talk about is their pricy parts and maintenance after warranty. Pray it don't break down or they will rob your bank. I'm speaking from experience from owning a Sonata and Starexx.
Long time ago they sell well because they are cheaper then Japanese cars (but hide their high maintenance). Now same price as Japanese cars they got no chance. They are not like Japanese cars which you can keep for 10-12 years. Once after 5 years everything start breaking down, etc.

Funny why korean car is more expensive to maintain in Malaysia. i live in the middle east and own a hyundai. The korean cars are very famous here due to its reliability and very reasonable maintenance cost. In fact in some region, it outsells toyota and honda by a margin.

@EarthyLee "Long time ago". Please try latest one and come back to comment. Car manufacturers improve. However, somehow Malaysians expect car manufacturers to stay bad without improvement. I suspect it is due to their own mentality of "people cannot improve hence once bad forever bad" mindset, which is nonsense in this hyper competitive world. Everyone improves. 30 years ago Hyundai Kia is bad, now not so. They are fairly reliable now. No their reliability is not Toyota level but do you need Toyota level? Most people change car around 5, 8, 10 years mark anyways, so as long as the car last that long without major issues, then it is reliable.

I still maintain a Sonata NF 2.4 and I don't find the maintenance and servicing costs to be pricey/expensive. To be frank, it has been a very reliable car for me. I guess everyone has different experiences with Hyundai.

It took us a second too, until we saw one running around in Ara Damansara. We suspect HSDM made a mistake of launching this car at a sales event hosted by another automotive media title on a Saturday - as such media turnout was low and so the market wasn't informed as readily as it would have been had the covers been pulled off at, say, a showroom on a weekday.
