What did you think of Ichigo vs Gin? Was it a worthy final fight for Gin, and did you like his Bankai? How could the fight have been handled differently? Let me know!
I love how we are shown ichigo wit and smarts like how he said he always knows someone's mind when their swords clash.
I think it was the perfect Gin fight because why the hell would Gin Ichimaru give you a straight satisfying fight with conclusive answers about anything? He is constitutionally incapable of honesty, and that's ultimately why his plan only half-succeeded, if that.
Even better, Gin essentially used Bleach fight conventions to mislead Ichigo and us readers for his own purposes, and I wish we had more fights like it. I don't think even Kyouraku could match the layers of deception in everything Gin ever says.
Hi Captain Tommo of the History and Information division 👋😊
Forgot to say, I think you're taking the "reading hearts" thing a tad too literally because the way I see it, Kubo was just nodding to Ichigo being a pretty good intuitive judge of character in the battlefield, something we had seen prior and would see in Ichigo's battle with Aizen.
I think the fight between Gin and Ichigo was perfect. I think both Gin and Ichigo gave each other a reality check.
Gin realized that he was truly on his own on the mission he set out to do, the ally he might've found in Ichigo never bloomed.
For Ichigo the reality check was that he was completely out of his league, his resolve wasn't sharpened and he was just a reckless child on a battlefield. A power reckless child, but a reckless child nonetheless.
The ways both these reality checks manifest themselves is also quite poetic, where Gin pretends to reveal it all but instead just starts building on the lies he's been building all along, thus further distancing himself from a potential ally. Both Aizen and Gin fight in deception, a deception of illusion for Aizen and a deception of misdirection for Gin. Gin further misdirecting Ichigo shows that he's not considering him properly helpful.
As for Ichigo, he's just stumbling all the way through, like he's drowning, grasping for air. Utterly defeated and panicking like a child.
I'll say it again. Gin using the fight with Ichigo to keep Bankai secretly activated the entire time to catch Aizen off guard was peak story writing.
Peak.
Thats obvious. Us as kids knew this 😂 u aint special nor the only 1.
Gin is just goated enough to be in bankai & nobody can tell, well Yamamoto might be the other however kinda hard to hide the fact its 1000° outside now as this old man walks me down.
@@LordNexusTheFir Missing a couple zeroes there, bud.
@@LordNexusTheFir What are you yapping about?
@@LordNexusTheFir Why are you so jealous he noticed something you never did?
Gin's attempt was admirable, but in the end you can only go so far against superpowered OP gods who can counter anything while having contingencies for everything. Him not wanting Rangiku to cry is heartbreaking.
@@Grayson-Winchesterthey were definitely more than colleagues regardless of your measuring stick seeing as they were childhood friends?
@@Grayson-WinchesterThey were more than colleagues, but Gin was so dishonest and closed off that their relationship lacks much reciprocity or depth. Gin's love for her was deeply selfish and didn't respect her autonomy or free will. She was just his damsel to avenge.
@@MrGksarathyeh…. You’re spot on until the last bit.
Admirable? It was the best! Out of all the captains none even made Aizen scared or seem worried. But Gin made him terrified & feel fear before anyone else.
Gin had his ass at 200% surprise 😂
I dont think Ichigo even made Aizen feel fear just made him angry.
@@Purriah How so? Gin prioritized avenging Rangiku and taking back what was stolen from her over her own feelings. I mean, he doesn't even bother to tell her what happened to her at any point.
Possible Hell chapter encounter:
“Was it worth it Gin?” ~Rangiku
“For you? Yes.” ~Gin
For me, it'd be more like
Rangiku: Why? Even after all this time, just why?
Gin: I did it all for you.
Keep dreaming bro 💀
whats this low shitty aah garbage tier fanfic lmao, good thing yall arent writers
That actually raises a good question: Would Gin and Tosen be given Konsō Reisai?
@@michealbounds550 Probably, given the true purpose of the ritual.
Gin and Yamamoto must be related; they're the only Reapers whose shut eyes ONLY ever crack open (slightly) at moments of significant concern. 😅
Their bankai are also identical looking to their shikai 👀
i’ve always thought that Yamamoto’s lineage has been wiped out (just by age) and he’s the last of his ancestry. bc he’s also the one who founded the Gotei 13, so it doesn’t necessarily mean he had an preceding significance, nor he’s from a high noble family.
Don't give me any ideas 😅
@@lindapenttinen3382 Please, let's hear 'em! 🤣
@@Evangelionism
Only a vague idea. That Yamamoto had Gin with some noble woman who later lost her status and ended in Rukongai and they could not get married because of this though Yamamoto visited occasionary when during night so nobody would figure out. Not sure if I use this idea in my Bleach-inspirated story or in a fanfic.
Something caught me about the angles and viewpoints in this particular fight. Especially the cutting buildings and solid swings/impact. I also love the little hints and mysteriousness we get of Gin all the way through. There are always subtle things with Gin, most importantly the little frown- with Rangiku, during his fight with Toshiro, when Aizen destroys the Cleaner, or even when Kisuke appears. It is brief, but the fact that's is there tells something in itself.
Gin pushed Ichigo to reach even higher.
Kamishini no Yari was always one my favorite bankais from the beginning due to how sly Gin deceptively uses it. The fact that his false stats are still petty scary and looks cool at the same time, while still having one of the deadliest aces in the series was brilliant.
Gins plan would have worked but for Aisensamas plot armour. I hope we see him again in the hell arc
Considering that this is what Aizen was cooking all along, I don't think his plan had a realistic chance of succeeding. Sure, he got close, but I don't think he had a chance beyond that.
@@MrGksarathy if he didn't literally wait till the exact second Aisen reached his godhood maybe it would've 😂
@@MrYac-ie8ie And therein lies Gin's fatal flaw. He trusts no one but himself to finish the job, but he's also a perfectionist.
@@MrGksarathy yup, had he just done it like a week earlier at lunch or something they could've avoided a lot of fighting.
Man I'm just happy to see good content creators grow their channels.
MrTommo, I didn't realize this battle was so DEEP. I'm almost disgusted with myself for failing to pick this up and need to review this. Kubo,, and you, for picking this up, are GENIUS.
Please, I'm begging you, write your own story; I'd be the first to buy it and the first to promote it to friends; your mind is brilliant and your analytical skills are addictingly fun to watch play out. 🙏🏼
I agree 100%
yeah I was disappointed with this fight in the manga, but this analysis was soo good. I thought Gin was just toying with Ichigo so he didn't have to help Aizen because he was on that 3v1
Truly one of the greatest characters in Bleach. A simple man among monsters, I wish there was more of him but it’s such a poetic end for him it’s hard to not just enjoy how it all played out. This fight showed how much he was both a genius and prodigy after all since we never see or even hear of him training. Aizen and tosen may not have as well, but they both got a power up of sorts. Always amazing work MrTommo!
I get that Aizen is super OP, but him always knowing everything about everything and having a contingency for everyone else’s contingency kinda gets on my nerves.
Like, you could literally say anything to him and his response would be: “Ah yes, just as intended. All according to my plan.”
Keikaku goes unbeaten 🤷♂️
You being frustrated about Aizen was part of his plan
He didn't have a plan when dangai Ichigo made his own point about spiritual pressure being on such a different level it could no longer be sensed blow up in his face, just a bunch of bluster and denial till hog bailed him out...again...then had to do it again 5 minutes later
He may have "known" Gin would betray him at some point, but he didn't know Gin knew how to bypass his zanpakuto.
Gin didn't just plant poison in him, he planted doubt, doubt that weakened his ability to process Ichigo's abilities and his ability to control the hogyoku
That was also part of Aizen's plan because he was never actually doing that. Aizen was just incredibly powerful, intelligent, and most importantly, adaptable. He was caught off-guard several times and couldn't control or predict everyone's actions, but he could quickly figure out what was going on and incorporate this new information into a new plan or adapt to the unforeseen obstacle.
@@CaptainKotetsu Aizen would make Tzeentch go “Dude, really?”
Wow, my favorite fight in bleach is actually getting analyzed! ❤
Everytime i hear Gin say his zanpakuto isnt the longest i try to imagine who actually has the longest
Haha, same here. Because even despite him saying it's not, it really is either way
He probably said it because he didn't know if it is the longest or not
Longest or range? I mean point a nuke missle 45 degrees, and its range is long. But then again isn't there someone that has a lighting bankia, which in length could reach further. Or is it sheer metal? Which Gin wins.
Yes! I have always loved Gin's character and fighting style.
Never a dull moment with Gin. One of my favorite characters, and one I really miss. Another great job MrTommo.
If you think about it, Gin was strong enough to beat itchigo. He landed a hit with his bankai, meaning if hed used his poison itchigo would have lost, which is fairly satisfying for fans of the character.
If he wanted to kill Ichigo here he could have done it easily.
if he killed ichigo there, he would have to deal with that vasto lorde form....that would have been an interesting fight but that form would have annihilated Gin
@@FGame2starI doubt a vasto lorde form would have appeared from nothingness since his poison dissolves the cell, so ichigo would have died without nothing left of him.
@@Kal911 might be the hollow form regenerates right? it regenerated the hole Uquiorra made in seconds.
@@FGame2star The hollow form didn't regenerate the damage, it was the aftermath of the battle when the power returned inside Ichigo that used high speed regeneration to restore the damage. But the poison that dissolve the cell will keep being active until there are cell to be destroyed so even if the hollow form happen the poison would just keep spreading and destroy him. Let's be honest, hollow form is nowhere close to evolved Aizen by the moment Gin attacked him, so even that form would have been useless against his bankai power.
Gin could've killed Ichigo at any moment after he sliced him in the shoulder with his kill command. He was always one of my favorite characters, shame we didn't get to see more of him in the end.
Even with ichigo trying his hardest Gin never broke a sweat.
People forget how strong gin is from the few examples we get.
Love this fight.
Damn he really changed the setup💔. Been watching since early 2022 Tommo pls keep the content coming
Gin has to have one of my favorite first bankai activations
The way the Kubo did the sliced buildings is too cool
Man why did Gin have to die 😭 he was my favorite character. His personality was so cool and unique. I actually thought his "bankai" was pretty cool when he was cutting buildings in half and I love the other sniper like ability, especially the flurry. But the ability he used on Aizen was crazy and actually pretty op considering he could presumably do this if he hits u just once with such a fast strike. Both abilities perfectly fit him as a character, mimicking the ability of a snake.
I thought how he was pushing Ichigo was necessary for him to grow. The fight definitely did serve an important purpose. Hard to say if it was worthy of his FINAL fight seeing as we hadn't seen that much from him to begin with. I really wish we got to see more fights with him. I pray that we see him in the hell arc. But with how popular of a character he is, I would be very surprised if we didn't. RIP Gin 😥🙏
Love to hear stories and impressions from young Tommo from back in the day!
Haven't watched yet. But very glad you did this one. Gin had a failsafe. And had to literally test Ichigoat metal.
The background was startling but congratulations on your move! May you find everything you’re looking for!!
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE FIGHTS AND HAS MY TOP 1 BANKAI REVEAL IN THE SERIES FROM A TOP 3 CHARACTER WOOOOO LETS GO
All that time, calculation, risk and sacrifice just for Aizen to say:
“Oh, I knew all along lol. I just wanted to see how far you could get.”
To be fair, Gin got pretty damn far. If it wasn't for the Hogyoku, Gin would have killed Aizen right then and there.
I feel it was a fitting end for Gin, a man too clever by half and unwilling to rely on anyone else for help.
Except he did get caught off guard but got lucky
…But Aizen genuinely didn’t see it coming (bc he left his guard down), and I don’t think Aizen ever saw Gin as a threat that’s why.
@@stealthgamer4620 Aizen knew he was going to try something, but he didn't know what, and he didn't expect Gin to get as close as he did to actually killing him.
Just started but salute to the old background
Edit: Now that I got my internet back and was able to watch the whole video. Yeah, this fight was super interesting in the fact it was a quasi-training session.
Ichigo and Gin for all their smack talk seem to very much respect each other, and respect the others power. Ichigo being scared of himself and consequently Aizen; Gin really needed to push Ichigo to get over his fear. And what better character the Gin who has always come off as a creep as Ichigo astutely points out.
While this fight definitely shows that neither Ichigo nor Gin were going full out, I do think it’s very respectful for Gin as a fight. This is Ichigo no longer restrained by his combat pass and awakening a new version of his mask. While not going all out, he’s still a threat. So much so that Aizen suspected that had Ichigo had his mask on when he attacked, he would’ve killed him. And yet Gin is holding his own.
Once we get the next arc, if Gin is in there, I do think it would be interesting to see him going all out and interesting to see what he thinks of Ichigo. And praying for a reunion with Rangiku. Maybe he’ll give up his soul to grant her a longer life and possibly free her Bankai. I think that’d be interesting.
Your videos butter My biscuits thank you
Thanks for the analysis! I loved Gin and secretly hope we will ultimately see more of him 🤞🤞
i literally just watched your other Gin vids and wanted more and here we are 🥲 new sub btw im getting back into bleach and i love this manga so much. he is my fav character 😭
I'd love to see a video about moving around Gin's betrayal in the story line changes things. Like if Gin attacked Aizen the same way when Tosen became ketchup, so Ichigo and him double tag him. Or maybe he waits until Isshin, Yoruichi, and Kisuke are facing off against Aizen. I just love how Gin had so many chances to kill so many people, but never did outside of Aizen's orders.
Great that Tommo broke this one down and i always appreciate that he admits all the time that he got worked by Kubo and Gin about his Bankai, haha.
It's such a pecuilar mini fight that does a lot of character work over action (which is still good too, especially since Gin is flexing the whole time and not trying to hurt Ichigo at all really). And I agree with Tommo as well about Ichigo's kinda flaky sensing of the heart that comes and goes but isn't really emphasized much until it is. It's pretty odd, cool for his character, but still rather odd how its utilized.
I do feel like this fight was fitting for Gin. It was a showcase for him and I think that the fact that he faced Ichigo and managed to set him off his state of mind and always kept control of the battle, speaks volumes of his power in comparison to the protagonist.
Love this channel so much.
So we don't see gin too all out. But here we see that through all the deception and treachery, he actually was a hero. Or at least an anti hero. And his fight with Ichigo being something of a "greater good" sacrifice as he realizes that he is no longer a match for Aizen.
I think he knew he wasn't already man. Aizen had fused with Hogyuku at that point, I think he chose that point because all the arrancar and Tozen were out of the picture and he could sneak attack Aizen easier
Gin is such a cool character. Love your vids man. Shout out from Chicago, Mr Tommo!
Our boy Tom is moving on up!! The new background will be dope, I bet! Atta boy Tom, do your thing!
Great video dude gin always had one of my favorite zanpaktos in whole series his whole fencing style was pretty unique for the verse
"reading hearts"....
Looking back with that comment in mind. You can see where Ichigo himself has, in the back of his subconscious, taught himself how to do that. The "resolve" he was taught from Kisuke which was needed to properly read Captain Zaraki and his intentions/strategy during their fight. Knowing why Byakuya sided with law over family initially. Knowing these directives of intentions and emotion in his opponent had been a growing element throughout since the beginning. Ichigo himself finally being able to put it into words during this encounter.
Gin holding back while showcasing his Bankai.. 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Good luck on your move Mr Tommo!!
13:30 That interlude in the fight was one of my favorite beats in the series.
Great battle analysis
THX MR TOMMO ❤
Goated keep up
Gin's bankai reveal is too cold
20:13
You hated the "I get to know somebody after fighting them" trope? The one that was first explicitly used during his battle with Kenpachi, but more broadly applied to his fights with Renji & Byakuya as well? I'd say his ability to empathize with his opponents & make friends are some of his greatest strengths, not to mention central to his nature pretty much from chapter 1
Video idea! I'd be really interested in your Top 10 BBS original character designs etc.
As someone who realized I was adulting when I found myself daydreaming about getting shelves, seeing Tommo's so bare is heartbreaking XD
I’m glad I’m not the only one who was underwhelmed with Gin’s Bankai at first. Kubo definitely got me to underestimate him.
I don't understand how you can be underwhelmed. Even thinking extending and contracting was it only ability, I thought extending 8 miles was insane and the most ridculous ban kai reveal up to that point in the story.
I personally love Gin's Bankai reveal and how it perfectly depicts his true self: a snake in the grass whose ultimate weapons are deception, the element of surprise, and the intent to kill which Gin concealed wonderfully by not opening his eyes very much throughout the series. Since the eyes are the window to the soul, Gin keeping his eyes mostly closed means Ichigo is unable to get a read on his true intentions like he could with others that he fought. Because of this, he's going into this battle 100% blind.
See, Ichigo had been led to believe that Kamishini no Yari was a Bankai whose greatest threat lay in its extension & contraction speed, which Gin said was around Mach 500. But later, Gin reveals that both the "8 mile/13km" extension length and the "Mach 500" top speed he claimed it had were both lies. Instead, the Bankai's true threat was that the blade contained a deadly cell-eating poison that was injected into the target after running it through, then contracting. That was used on Aizen, and it was a guaranteed 1-hit KO against even a god. Had it not been for the Hogyoku, Aizen was dead to rights on the spot.
Ichigo got off easy here. If Gin had wanted to use that on the MC, he could do so at any time, and it's game over for Ichigo when he does.
When Ichigo first meets Gin the first time, he says "so your the one". When watching it for the first time, the line really dose not resonate. But upon multiple views of the show, and knowing how it ends, it makes perfect sense. Gin had his plan to take out Aizen way back then I think. He probably could have killed Ichigo with ease at that point. And this fight is to snap Ichigo out of his slump. There are other things Gin does and says that shows he has another motive. This was a cool twist.
At the beginning of the soul society arc when Zaraki tries to push Byakuya's buttons to get him to fight, Gin effortlessly wraps Zaraki up and carries him off before Zaraki even realized what happened. Then we later saw just how brutally strong Zaraki was. He later taunted Hitsugaya into going bankai while half-heartedly fending off Hitsugaya's attacks in shikai. Gin was always monstrously powerful.
Congrats on the move!
Yamamoto took the best bankai reveal for me even im a big gin fanboy and i loved his sacrfice. the epicness of the headcaptian finally revealing his bankai was just insane
Where do i find the colored version of the manga pannels for myself?
would love to have them for my Cosplay as ref. pic.
Gin would've been such a menace in tybw
"When you try your best but you don't succeed " a Coldplay for gin ichimaru
this is once again why kubo hasn’t completed the series until he writes hell arc, we need to see these captain level and higher shinigami that died back in the action
Never been here so early 😮
I remember being excited when I first saw Gin's bankai.
Do you have a video about why Aizen agreed to be sealed again after TYBW?
He was sad about chair-sama. That’s the only reason
It's an illusion, obviously.😂
not that he agreed might have been he was too weak to resist at that point. he must have used a lot of energy in that final fight
We need a how strong is yamamoto video..like so tommo can see
I love that Gin treats the fight like it was JJK where he lies about details in his abilities to catch his opponent off guard.
In JJK, telling your opponent your technique is actually a binding vow where your techniques become stronger.
Jjk is also a decade and a half younger than bleach so it was able to piggy back off of what worked and didn’t work from all of the big 3.
@@xenoemblem7But how you do it isn't set in stone, so you can still creatively apply the truth.
I think Ichigo could be come Leader of the 13 Courts... in alternative timeline...
I've always wondered how Rukia never recognized Isshin despite living with him for quite a few chapters
Gin was super cool. I always felt like he only failed because he failed to double tap. He was too confident in his victory. He started monologuing about his plot instead of shooting Aizen a few more times. It's the god killing spear, shoulda hit him some more. Also, confiscate kyoka suigetsu, just in case while he had the chance? Even if aizen lived, as long as he was holding it, he'd be immune to the illusions.
Um 2 things I dnt think aizen had any need 4 his shikai at that point and 2 he technically did finish the job aizens heart was nomore he was jus invincible unfortunately nobody cudve permanently killed him except 4 maybe ichimongi changing the name of something lol Gin and Ulquiorra was my favorite characters n of course both died by characters that came back from the dead.
Aizen would not have died
If Mugetsu didn't kill him, no amount of extra firepower would do so.
Think of the Hogyoku like those trinkets in games that "Never drop below 1 HP"
Best of luck on your move!!!
One of Ichigo's many "lock-in or die" battles
😂 he never locked in tho. Gin actually would've outright killed Ichigo on bankai release b4 he could've even blinked.
Notice Gin cut the entire town in half. Ichigo would've been killed right then & he wouldn't even have been able to block or dodge or realize it till he tried to move.
@@LordNexusTheFir but he didn't 🤯🤯
Reading the heart is a thing from sword fighting in general. The idea of it is that when you fight someone in a duel of swords you can absolutely tell when the person is focusing on you and your weapon or focusing on something else even if you yourself are being pushed back.
Each culture has its own name for this concept but Japan and its Samurai Bushido culture being basing Heart, Body, Soul, and Blade being connected calling it “reading the heart” is pretty apt.
I am more than fine with Ichigo breaking down during the fight.
Ichigo was feeling despair from the Hollow within destroying his fight, Aizen threatening to destroy all, etc.
All Isshin did was talk/knock some sense into him, why wouldn't Gin be able to talk it out of him?
My favorite character in the entire series . His character was mysterious, intelligent, sly , good and evil , cold , warm … and all within the few scenes that were ever shown. His combat ability is by far ridiculous . He was insane .
Maaaaan, it wouldve been *so* cool if ichigo and isshin had a Father-Son Getsuga Tensho vs chrysalis aizen, even if it didnt properly kill him
On a superficial level, its a bit like Unohana vs. Zaraki. Yes, its a fight with a character that we've been waiting for ages to see in a fight. But then it turns out to be... kind of not a proper fight after all
And good job on referencing CFYOW unironically
I have to rewatch that one fight. Same with the full-Bring arc.
I have seen the SS arc like 20 times so i gotta watch all that other arc equally.
Gin was Amezing, it's heartbreaking and mind blowing, Kubo just nailed it.
I believe Aizen truly considered Tousen his friend and so allowed him indulge in his desires and once that was over he just moved along with his plan. he knew Tousen cant achieve what he wanted but telling a friend he cant achieve his dream would be bad, let him try. that was his choice. that s how I see it. Killing Tousen after that was mercy, leaving your friend broken would be in bad taste.
Good luck with the move 🎉
Moving house nicee!!!
It just occurred to me we may see this Chad again in hell arc 😮
We will never see a Chad do anything notable in Bleach :(
Gin could have been a monster. He had immense potential and though we only got a single fight from him, I enjoyed it
I like that Bankai in Bleach are similar to stands in JoJo. Some of the earlier ones are very simple, like Ikkaku, Soi Fon, or Komamura's, but later on in the series, you see them get a lot more experimental. You have something like Kyoraku's Bankai, a Bankai with multiple stages, or Shinji's Bankai which can change an entire battlefield in an instant
Of course, there aren't many Bankai as complicated as something like Tusk or D4C in Steel Ball Run
Ikkaku has a super underrated Bankai tho. It looks so cool, but he only uses it that ONE time, but that's the usual for Bankai really
Ikkaku's Bankai unfortunately just sucks so much that it is canonically broken and probably won't be used again.
@@Dragonpuncher123 Bankai can be repaired tho. And Ikkaku's Bankai works on a clock iirc, there's a gauge on the middle part or something that, one it's filled, boosts his power
@@hairlessgrizzly559 It can’t be repaired. Mayuri tried and it is now a lot less powerful than before. This is all in TYBW. So unless Kubo sees it fit to give him a new bankai like Renji, I don’t think we are going to see it.
I always thought this fight was more of gin seeing ichigo’s progression from when he briefly fought him in the soul society arc
Gin Bankai is my top favorite ngl. I love simple but deadly power
Gin is by far my favorite bleach character and kubo wrote him into an amazing character
This was the last fight Ichigo used the Hollow Mask in the manga.
I don’t know if you’ve already talked about it on the channel but if Ichigo were to use the Quincy medallion, would he get poisoned cuz he’s part hollow?
I know this is no place for a death battle idea but to this day iv always wanted to see Gin face off against Hazama from Blazblu
Its just one of those fights that you know in some alternate reality has already happened
Good luck on the move !!!
If you don't mind I had a question about the Head captain Yamamoto and squad 0. Yamamoto stated that he Maintain his position as head captain for over a 1000 years.Because no one doing that time had been born stronger than him, And yet there was a member of squad zero Kirio Hikifune i think who was part of the gota thirteen so was yamamoto lies when he said that to Aizen Or do you get some kind of power increase when you become a member of squad 0 from the soul king? So what is going on there
Because i'm confused
Squad 0 Captains are chosen not just for their fighting strength but for also creating something significant to the history of Soul Society. Kirio was recruited after creating the concept of artificial souls.
Of course his bankai would deceive the reader. Their zanpuktos are simply a reflection of themselves as we discover later the 1000 year blood war arc.
Okay, listen.... I'm not necessarily saying it's a BAD thing that I happened to have a glass of gin with me when I saw this video on my feed, buuuuuut it feels quite copacetic :D
The whole thing with "if you can sense someone you're on the same level" has never made sense to me. By that logic, Hanataro is on the same level as Soul Society arc Zaraki and Nanao is on the same level as Yamamoto.
well remember Aizen was transcended so soul reapers couldn't feel him, Ichigo could because after his death he transcended. he was just afraid of his hollow power
@@FGame2star I know what happened, I'm saying I think it's not a very clean way to describe how powerful he is, as well as Ichigo. If Kubo had built on transcendence more than just throwing it in at the last minute of the arrancar arc and then never bringing it up again, it probably would've worked a lot better.
@@NeufAtora the whole dialogue with Gin was confusing at the time, but watching this breakdown it all made sense why Gin kept questioning him
I like the subversion of the trope of Love redeeming a villain trope. With Gin, it was his love for Rangiku that ultimately lead to him becoming a monster, and in his own eyes, unworthy of her love. Would things have been better if he had simply let go of his quest for revenge and lived a happy life with Rangiku? Maybe, but then Aizen might not have been able to aid Ichigo during the battle against Yhwach. Gin's story is tragic, but also a cautionary tale, very much like fates of others who seek revenge within the series.
I dnt think he became a monster the ends justify the means. Aizen would've destroyed everything anyways so Gin had 2 deceive every1 no matter how he felt 2 get his shot 2 kill him. I dnt think thats bad he was pretending 2 be heartless but it was all an act sure u can say it was lil selfish but I mean thats love right. We do crazy things 4 love I think its a good story.
Ive always thought Gin would have been a brilliant match against Lille. They both have "gun" like attacks but Gins Bankai being the God Killer would have been so cool thematically against Lille. I hated the ass paddle Shunsui just happened to pull out of his robe that just so happened to only work against "Gods". But Gin would have fit perfectly in all of that.
I'm curious what if isihin told ichigo everything after the fight with aizen. Would ichigo have went the full bring route or would he have tried to awaken his Quincy powers ?
I *have* to feel that in the *two years* following this where Ichigo not only *didn't* get any of his questions answered, but which Isshin avoided him during, he probably considered that little speech about how he could tell him when he was ready one of the worst mistakes of his entire life. Considering how many lives could have been saved if Ichigo had his 'the blade is me' moment without needing to take a trip down to earth first and could have arrived before the attack instead of midway through, it actually might have been. *God* Isshin is a garbage father and Ichigo is way too forgiving to him.
They also *could* have just sent him to have that conversation with Aizen. It would have been faster and probably more detailed.
I wonder how the quincy would fare if they attacked this group of captains.
Gin is one of the people om most excited to hopefully see more of in the future hell arc
Think their actual demons 😈 in hell besides the hollows 👻👹👻👹 that becomes ghowls
Not tooting my horn but I've been really good at pointing out "bad guys" with good guy hidden. I called Gin when I first saw him and I called Itachi when the ps2 Naruto game came out. The one where you had 3 diff ways to perform jutsu. Awesome 2d fighting game. But anyway, best kind of char.
