THC is legal in my country so sometimes I add some oil drops into my matcha. I had no idea matcha alone can have a similar affect. Trying making koicha next 😈

I have never seen anyone drink it so thick. Add more water to the left overs and drink it

Which matcha is strongest? I would say the gokou matcha koiai has a very strong savory flavor. The Chiran premium does as well: nioteas.com/

You didn’t put enough water - why?

    • @Nioteas

this is a concentrated matcha paste called Koicha

He actually put in more water than normal for koicha. A serving of koicha is about 3 grams of matcha. I typically put 3 grams per serving plus one extra gram "for the bowl". Then, I add about 12 grams per serving (plus 2 for "the bowl") and knead it much more slowly than shown. That lets the leaves bloom and absorb the water fully. Once that happens, I add 18 more grams of water per serving (plus 2 for the bowl) and blend it in. This way, the tea is fully bloomed and at its best flavor, while still being tastefully hot. So, for 4g of matcha, I use 35g of water, split into two pours. What he showed in the video (based on the condition of the chasen) was probably 45 or 50 grams. He also whisked the koicha which will make it much more bitter than normal. For koicha, don't whisk it... knead it. The more agitation you do, the more tannic acid is pulled out of the leaves, overshadowing the sweeter amino acids. With the concentration of koicha, that difference is pronounced.
