A couple of questions:
When in the crush, why are their heads being locked in with chains? It isn't like can get out, and I haven't seen hoof trimmers do that.
It's odd how the cow doesn't try to get her feet under her the right way when her leg is freed. Are they drugged?

You need a crush like the Hoof GP has in Scotland, it raises the cows and low them automatically while he trims the hooves...
That was totally cumbersome and time consuming. They just peeked at the hooves no trims, they have nothing on The Hoof GP.
This looks a lot better then some of the other dairy farms I’ve seen and I love the brush thing they got the look happy with it
IDK the brush doesn't look like it does a very good job.
Maybe some medium pressure water being sprayed would do better.

I think you're just reminding yourself to take the calf away too soon and that those cows will end up in the slaughterhouse anyway.
Why do cows always have milk. Most mammals only have milk after child birth.

They don’t- it’s Same for cows, they calve which starts the production of milk and by milking them once or twice a day their body is telling them to keep making milk for their calf, This goes on for 6-10 months depending on many factors. Then they “dry off” to which they stop producing milk until they have another calf the following year. The dairy calendar is Calving - mating - milking - dry off . And repeat if the cow doesn’t get in calf for the next season she is either given another chance so she gets a year holiday or she is slaughtered sadly. As no calf no milk it’s a horrible but sadly necessary part of the industry. I’ve been milking cows for over a decade now so I hope this simple explanation helps.

I’d have to add farmer’s kids never had it so good either! Now instead of a hoe and hat they have air conditioned tractor cabs to spray weed killer with, hence no weeds to hoe. Not good for environment but dang, I hated summer break. At my fathers funeral the big joke was that Mr. Ed was responsible for more farm kids going to college after spending summers working in his fields.

What you fail to understand is that, is cows like to be milked to relieve the pressure on the udder. They also love to eat, so getting fed is a positive thing.

Don’t be stupid. Automatic milking machine have been around for decades and decades. Since the milk is vital to the farmers finances, and milk with disease or blood would be rejected. And would cause mastitis which has to be treated with antibiotics and pulls the cow out of production for 10+ days and in addition if it happens often will render the animal not useable for the rest of their life as they can loose udder health and one of the quarters.
If you don’t know what you are talking bout, research it before you make such comments.
I don’t see why these individual milking stalls are of much assistance when there are ones that do as many as 1500-2000 cows at a time and of course less. Some automatically wash and others people do so they can observe their udders and they have to strip the teats to make sure there is no mastitis or other issues or they won’t get paid for the milk or get dinged.
People think animals are horribly treated but they are the farmer and his family’s bread and butter. They want them as happy and content and healthy as possible. Or at least the vast majority do, there are a few who are either beginners and don’t know what they need to do, or as always even with pets, there are bad people. Dairies are inspected for a number of reasons so they get caught on inspections, or when the milk truck comes by to get the milk each day and the driver will report them. The big buyers don’t want issues and don’t want that type of farmer.
The automatic feeders are good in that it lets the farmer know how much they have consumed by animal. But they are only in milking stall for a short time and cows are fed in loafing sheds. Mostly the feeding there is just to make them happy and to let their milk down and gets some high performance nutrition in them without competition.
The devices for trimming their feet and helping the farrier have also been around for a good while but improvements are always being made. Cattle whether dairy or beef are very large and can do some damage to you if they decide not to behave and stand still. Trimming and treating their hooves is critical to their health so they don’t get lame. It doesn’t hurt anymore than trimming your nails but nevertheless, they don’t want to try and stand on 3 feet while one is worked on.
Interesting videos but there are others which are better that actually explains the equipment just type in new dairy technology or new farm technology.

Like human beings do not have same strength and also their health might not be same everyday, every cow has their own capabilities to give milk and the automated machines are sucking milk always for fixed time. Think about a cow that doesn't give milk for less time then do you know what happened at the time of sucking but cow is not giving milk?
The blood of cow get sucked which causes wound to cow and also milk is not suitable for our health.
So I think manual sucking of milk is quite better than automated machines both for humans and also for cows.
