【樂曲簡介】
此曲寫給打擊樂獨奏與四位打擊樂伴奏。四位打擊樂伴奏以合唱開場，以如同吟誦的方式演唱，同時呈現主題旋律以及此曲展現的詩意特質。音樂表現方面，整首樂曲圍繞Bb、Db、Eb(即曲名中大寫的三個字母)構成的三音動機旋律，不僅出現於開場的合音，也貫穿全曲的合奏。這個主題雖並未擴大發展，但是透過各式合奏樂器的搭配，轉換成不同的音色，同時，此曲的創作理念以充滿詩意的主題為中心，靈感來自於詩人布蘭登•史旺姆一首尚未完成的詩作：

〈BeyonD the bEnd〉 is score for percussion soloist with percussion ensemble (5 players total). In the opening of the work the ensemble sings, in unison, chant-like lines that present, simultaneously, both the sonic thematic material and the poetic reference the piece hinges on. Musically, the piece is tied to a three-note motive of Bb, Db, and Eb (those letters highlighted in the title) that can be heard throughout, initially heard in the opening voices and thread through the ensemble for the duration of the piece. This theme refrains from developing, yet transforms throughout the work as it is bent into different timbres through orchestrational treatment. Concurrently, the work is structured around a poetic theme, which is inspired by a short unfinished poem by Brandon Reid Swaim:

〈BeyonD the bEnd〉 est une partition pour soliste de percussion avec ensemble de percussion (5 joueurs au total). Au début de l'œuvre, l'ensemble chante, à l'unisson, des lignes semblables à des chants qui présentent, simultanément, le matériau thématique sonore et la référence poétique sur laquelle repose la pièce. Musicalement, la pièce est liée à un motif de trois notes, Si♭, Ré♭ et Mi♭ (ces lettres sont mises en évidence dans le titre), qui peut être entendu tout au long, initialement dans les voix d'ouverture et tissé à travers l'ensemble pour la durée de la pièce. Ce thème évite de se développer, mais se transforme tout au long de l'œuvre alors qu'il est plié en différents timbres par le traitement orchestral. Parallèlement, l'œuvre est structurée autour d'un thème poétique, inspiré d'un court poème inachevé de Brandon Reid Swaim :
Quand Tu Te Plies (inachevé)
Quand tu plies quelque chose
Cela te frappera en retour et te pliera
C'est la relation
Entre la société et la nature
