ROBIN IS STILL THE BEST ON EARTH AND IN HEAVEN GOD TAKE CARE OF SWEET ROBIN HE IS A LITTLE BIRDIE NOW FLYING WITH HIS WINGS WE LOVE YOU AND ALWAYS WILL
I thinks this is perhaps the greatest song about teenage love ever written. Great melody, moving lyrics, impassioned performance. The Bee Geese were on fire, till Robin was the lead vocalist of the group.
absolutely agree. Everybody knows the world hits Massachusetts and words which were released on their second LP Horizontal. I can‘t see nobody is the masterpiece on their first LP released in Europe, Bee Gees 1st. As far as I remember and noticed in Wiki not released as a single.
@@psrfpsrf Actually, " I can't see Nobody" was released as a single. It was on the B side of their first 1967 Uk single. "New York Mining Disaster 1941" was on side A.
I have loved the BeeGees forever. Lucky to have seen them in concert a couple of times. My guilty pleasure is blasting this song in my car as I drive around town 😅
I love Robin and I miss him so much. He left his son's Stephen and RJ with that beautiful talent of beautiful voices singing. I love them all his family. My eyes can only look at you.
Robin's vocals in this unique BG's tune is simply amongst the most inspired I've ever heard. The gentleness of the harmonies paired with the wonderful orchestral arrangements generates a very particular atmosphere, one of such strong melancholy that it almost transports the listener into a state of sadness. "I can't see nobody", perhaps along with "Melody Fair", is the most representative song of what throughout the years has been conceptualized as "orchestral rock". When I listen to old melodies like this one from the Gibb brothers, I can't help but wonder how they lost their inspiration so abruptly, sometime in the mid 70's.
The decision to look for a new direction in music came after they stopped selling in the UK & USA markets after 1972.On the contrary, in Italy they were having their greatest moment. They went to Miami and started doing R&B/Soul music. Their producer sugggested them too try the "falsetto", typical of black singers. Barry's voice could produce it better than any of his brothers so from then on he took vocal lead. But, in my opinion, his falsetto doesn't sound as good or natural as the "falsetto" of black singers. Blanking out Robin was a wrong move. It was the vocal interplay/alternation between Robin's & Barry's leads that gave depth and soul to their music. Without it their production resulted flawless, but flat and shallow. Eventually they became boring, "uncool" (again!) and lost artistic credibility.
@@louisati1757 agree 90%. IMO in the SNF releases Barry's falsetto worked and very well too, but was overused over the years (if i'm not wrong he also admitted that in an interview) and moreover maybe it damaged his strong natural low voice in the long term. In the '70s music was very transitioning they couldn't go on with the orchestral ballads so the R&B turn was a brilliant move,(Main Course👏!) but not a good enough reason to put Rob peculiar singin' aside! Agree their suitable feature was the alternate Barry/Rob lead singin (together with the unmatched 3parts harmony of course).
I didn't say anything new. We can go on talkin' for months about it... In the end the BGs huge catalog is of a highquality one 'cause the marvellous songs they left us are very much more than the not-so-good ones, right?
I wanted to let you know the Bee Gees never lost there inspiration for writing songs and producing. They we're doing so past the 70's. They were the best group ever for inspiration of writing music.
I have this song in my mind since 1970, earning first money, bought the LP Best of Bee Gees Vol 1 as one of their and my first Compilation LPs I got. Have the best songs at this time on one record. Fan since 67 with Massachusetts, hold few records on my first cassette recorder broadcasted via the radio. Visit my first live Concert in March 68 from my pocket money. Fan of their music now over 5 decades.

I Can't See Nobody
Bee Gees
I walk the lonely streets
I watch the people passing by
I used to smile and say hello
Yes, I was just a happy guy
Then you happened, girl
This feeling that possesses me
I just can't move myself
I guess it all just had to be
I can't see nobody
No, I can't see nobody
My eyes can only look at you
You
I used to have a brain
I used to think of many things
I watched the falling rain
And listened to the sweet bird sing
Don't ask me why, little girl
I love you and that's all I can say
You're every, every breath that I take
You are my nights, my night and day
I can't see nobody
No, I can't see nobody
My eyes can only look at you
You
Every single word you hear, girl
Is coming from this heart of mine
I've never felt like this before
A love like yours, so young and fine
And now as I try to forget you
It doesn't work out anyway
I loved you such a long time ago
Though in my eyes you'll always stay
Every single word you hear
Is coming from this heart of mine
I loved you such a long time ago
Don't know why, girl I don't know why
(Baby, such a long time)
(Baby, such a long time)
(Baby, such a long time)
ohhh ilike it
Track 50/89
Isn't the line, "And in my eyes you'll always stay"?
MY NAME IS MARILYN AND I JUST LOVE THE WAY ROBIN AND BARRY SAT DOWN ON THE SOFA THEY DID EVERYTHING TOGETHER AND SO DID MAURICE AND IN MY EYES THEY WILL ALWAYS STAY WITH THE GIBB'S
