- We have arrived at the final round of the Super Final 2019 championship. The winner of which gets a fully funded test day in a Ginetta GT5 race car. Safe to say that these races mattered.

"let's hope for a nice clean race"
*orange dude overtakes*
"just kinda scope out where the stewards are and aren't watching, then go for the full big send. That's always an option"
lmao
How do you think I won my first go kart race, maldonado style
I was laughing at work over that comment
@Colten Griffin I definitely believe both of you. Definitely not a scam or anything.
Hi Steve!
I remember you wondering in a video, long ago, if you should continue to do these karting videos or not. I say: Keep 'em coming me laddie!
To people who only sporadically take up this kind of motorsport, this shows the 'how-to' in karting. I've learnt so much watching these videos. For instance, the small but important things like what to do with the weights, the fuelcap, where to throw the holding pins, the handsigns on track and how the 'attack' mode isn't always the way to go . This is a treasure chest of savoir-racing for the interested karting wannabe.
The camera standpoint is really convincing and the sound-balance between ambient noise and the voice-over is simply perfect (very rare!) which makes watching the videos NOT an excruciating experience :-)
I'm looking forward to the next season!!
Perfect stuff mate, thanks for the comment and happy to hear it is helping you!
This comment just made me realize why I like these videos so much

Seeing IRL racing on this channel makes me so happy. Please stay at 0 dislikes
Cheers mate, glad you like it.
@@Super_GT I did, it was a great vid. Excellent driving! I hope you showcase your skill in more videos like this!
@@Super_GT when does the next Kart season start? it is by far my fav out of all your content.

Been waiting for this 😍
I've been waiting for you 😏
Gotta see you out in these karts again soon!
You should play this game JD you will not lag at all

STEVE IS HOSTING THE LOBBY ASK HIM 😅
13:21 When I drive on the straights I tuck in my shoulders(point them towards my stomach), put my elbows slightly towards each other(elbows pointing at hips) and put the top of the visor on the steering wheel, and let the head stay there, not just a short bow. If I need more vision I bend back in the neck, i don't raise my head.
@Super GT You're a driver, so you know when not to do this, but it really helps. I gain ~150ms on average on my track, which has a relatively short straight.
I'm 6'5 and have broad shoulders, so if I don't try to become more aerodynamic it's too big of an advantage for everyone else.

@@nickterzis11 1x Google Translate later. No I'm not. I'm just another driver. I have driven even longer than Super GT. 24 years now.
@@AtotehZ Why do they only duck down for a fraction rather than for the full length of the straights? Common sense says it would be even more important at the end of the straight.
@@ivanszana human drs baby, they get back up earlier to assist in braking so they don't overshoot T1
I love everything about the editing of these videos, from the commentary, the laps you skip to the chatting at the end and of course the fantastic outro tune. Cheers, thanks for sharing.
Your numerical values in this video are off the charts haha
I think Kosta the Greek God of Speed's human DRS is just superior to your R4M human DRS technology, at the very least worth the aforementioned millions of tenths per straight, might want to revisit the wind tunnel in winter testing mate
Also, seems like we have a Fraga vs. Hizal situation on our hand for next season with you and Hicks. Very much looking forward to the next races
Absolutely. We're gonna be spending the big bucks over winter to hit the 2020 season hard. Aiming to secure the services of Adrian Newey to help out on aero and draft in Toto Wolff for team tactics.
@@Super_GT at 15:28 steve goes wide and has 4 wheels off the track(and 1 or 2 other times) shouldnt that be a penalty?
This is top quality content SuperGT. You could do a karting event and get a sizeable attendance if you keep up this series.
Awesome to see such friendliness between all the drivers, well done.
I love this content. Real life vs. Virtual racing. All commented on by a knowledgeable and witty driver.
Just found this. One of the cleanest, most respectful races I’ve ever seen. Pure sportsmanship. Well done.
I paused the beginning of the video just to say that I'm rooting for you!! I hope you win!
Edit: Well, it wasn't meant to be. Next season!! Kudos for maintaining that positivity. 🙏🏻
Steve: I am SuperGT. This kart race is mine!
*Joe Holmes joins the lobby*
Steve: _Ah shit, here we go again_
I had no previous interest in racing or anything to do with it - CZcams suddenly recommends your channel and now I cant get enough. Your humour and commentary is second to none, these videos are honestly fascinating. For 20 minutes nothing else pops into my head, I am completely engrossed in your content which is a great feat in this day and age.
Keep it up my dude
16:28 Steve be rapping AGAIN!
I love these videos. Man, you do not ever see that kind of sportsmanship in racing anywhere else. Very well done. NASCAR drivers could take a lesson or two from these fellows.
Well done man, great racing from you as always. Love the broadcast edits in as well!
@13:35 , through chicane, shows the height difference. You're almost a helmet height above all the guys around you 😂
hard luck Steve, Been a pleasure following this season, really look forward to the next!
That first cart you were chasing was insane on the strait...
I really love this vids Steve, keep going with this❤️💪
Cheers mate! Will do
and congratulations on your 2nd place !!!
Love the camaraderie at the end. Really nice to see.
Loving the content as usual Steve!
Thank you!
I like how you activate DRS
Congratulations mate!!!
Well done. Enjoyed the races, looks like a lot of fun, thanks for sharing...
Loved it man! Every minute of them all. Happy you are shareing this :)
Great videos my guy. I liked this one especially, you’re both hilarious and a great driver. Honestly, what more could we ask for? Good luck next season ❤️
Good on you Steve! spectacular performances and good sportsmanship. Get em next season. GET IN THERE LEWIS
At 13:30 I said, out loud, "take out your bottom ribs"
At 13:41 I laughed quite loudly
You should have laughed at 13:51...I don't know how nobody got that reference
That was nice race man, we support you even more from now :)
Good effort steve and great videos, enjoyed following them, that prize is yours for the taking next year 👌
Well driven! Love your video's, especially your karting videos. Keep it up mate!👌💪
Great season and fantastic job with the videos!
Awesome job and awesome sportsmanship!
Good effort mate! You'll surely get it next year
good luck i really hope you win the test day, if theres anyone who i think deserves it more than anyone else its you
Congrats mate, hopefully you can pull it off next year
Helpful hint you aerodynamically...due to the karts reclined seat, try tucking chin to helmet, hands low on steering whell, elbows tight, BUT lean way back instead of forward. Instead of trying to break a hole in the air (which is extremely hard due to the seat configuration, you catch too much air in the pocket), use your torso to deflect the air. Lean like you're trying to gain speed on a waterslide. I learned this from a buddy, we did timed test after timed test, and our top end speed increased by over 2km/hr on calm days and 4km/hr on windier days.
Great driving all season, you'll smash it next year!
Exciting season! Hopefully better luck in the next one!
13:38 "[..]if it was for karting or another purpose i don't know"
That fucking killed me lmao
Well raced all season Steve!! That Ginetta drive is your's next year mate!!
Love seeing the karting content. I started racing last year in a similar championship where I live (Canada). It’s been a blast so far and searching for my second championship in my second season.
Mac Ingram where do you live. I'm from Ontario and my brother and myself want to get into karting.
Any recommendations ???
I might be taking part in a Sunday Test session at Red Lodge!
Whatever i am doing, if a Super GT karting video gets uploaded i can't wait to watch it! Great job man, keep up the amazing work.
Really some of my favorite content on this website
Definately removed some ribs! Keep the karting vids coming. Your commentary is both entertaining and informative.
Really enjoyed the whole season, wishing we had something like this in the states locally.
Lo206? Afaik is very similar.
we do, check out las vegas, etc. Problem is, it's a big country.
@@Antonin1738 that's what I meant by locally. I have 1 track an hour south of me and another an hour and a half north. For now I go to the smaller indoor tracks and try to build a local group of people that can convince the establishments to have structured events.
Most indoor tracks aren't the same. Outdoor tracks are very different. I feel the 1 hour journey might be worth it if you are serious about it.
Will make you a better driver. It did for me.
@@engared I completely agree it's a better experience on a larger outdoor track. I take my car on the track several times a year, both for drag racing and road course.
I did some digging into the karts you mentioned and it's seems around here its 200-300 rental per race. That's about how much a road course costs for the day.
One love! You won in most of our hearts. You’re a pro and I wouldn’t be surprised you get a offer from a manufacturer.
amazing video as always . love the irl content
This was awesome! Can’t wait till next season!
Got to have a go at this soon , looks good fun
Great fun and sportsmanship!
This was another great video, start a go fund me to rent a day in the car, you honestly deserve the drive. 👍🏻🏁
19:35 MALAKAAAA greek god of speed
Great videos mate couldn't wait to see this one more entertaining than the current f1 grid lol between all of you at the front is such small margins of error. What is it that you think you need to improve on for next year? Unless you want to keep that under wraps
Plot Twist: You sent Steve Hicks into the Shadow Realm
Keep up the great racing! They are all good fun to watch!
Mind Blown. I thought your name was Mr GT, first name : Super
You are so much taller Steve. At least it appears so, than the other drivers. Aero disadvantage. Enjoyed your karting coverage/journey!
Class act Mr GT. Congrats to Steve.
Boo! Well next year’s a cert Steve! We need that sports car special from you 😎
Great watch. Always next year Stevie boy
Another clay pigeon race! Love it
Commenting before watching - Send it Super GT! Haven't wanted a win as much since Hill/Schumacher 94
Strong finish, Mate! I say R4M next time!!
Love the vids!!
Question - How close are these cars really? It seems like there is always one cart that is almost untouchable......well, with the right driver. Lol
I'd say about 4-5 tenths between the best and worst with most between 3 tenths
Super GT Wow, that is much closer than I expected. Appreciate the content sir!
Damn sorry to hear you didn't win. I was rooting for you whole season long. Keep pushing man
You should make a compilation of some of the best moments from the season :)
Sorry to see you didn’t get it this year mate. Keep pushing you’ll get it next time.
Just looked like your kart in the super final wasnt up to it. Shame cos you've done brilliantly 👊
I don't know what it is but when they give them a thumbs up and a handshake it makes me happy
14:47 all 4 wheels off track .. no penalty?
Steve got a warning for very marginal and only potentially being wide in that same during the endurance race the previous day as well
And again at 15:30
Several times he should have received a penalty, or at least one warning and then a penalty.
I like how u talk all your options out
I’m at red lodge on the Saturday so it would be great to meet you👍 once again love the content, your a real inspiration and legend mate ❤️👌
I may be there. Possibly have an event to go to but not 100% sure yet.
Super GT cheers great vid
Next year you will come back faster than ever!
good race thumbs up
You should post some practice heats and go over some mechanics as far as lines on corners/track condition outside of them and the like for some educational content for those looking to/just getting into kart racing. You seem pretty good (Former motorcycle racer 600 class bikes)
again, addictive. great race. so unlucky. it was a really nice prize. next time, Steve :-)
Next year will be your year, I may sound like a ferrari fan but well done 👍
If you even visit northeast usa I recommend you visit NJMP Karting Track, it’s rather difficult and different.
No let me get a fresh cup of tea so I can enjoy this!
Idk why that "Anime" line made me laugh harder than it should've
Top 10 rappers eminem is afraid to race
Enjoying this video series dude!
I want to try this one year, is it expensive?
Gosh those guy fast af. Better luck next time
Id love to get into kart racing, i do live in the usa, but how did you get started and what are some expected price points? Im a beginner to racing but would love to learn
I've done testing for ducking behind the wheel and it only helps over 100km/h on long ish straights
15:14 bit had me ROFL 😂
I don't know if this suggestion still counts because I have a Rotax max 125 Evo but when you are about to start , lift the carburetor choke so you don't bug down the kart and to warm the tires keep going from side to side then when you get 2 corners before starting get in your position but keep warming your tires evenly
Nice mate
How do you know when to lift the radiator flap up? I race with the same engine but we have a device on our steering wheel to tell us what the water temp is.
GET IN THERE LEWIS
Looking forward to you creating a second account for R4M at this game to "test out the penalty system".
love the videos, but what is that white spray thing the "mechanic" sprays on the kart at the end of the race
hi super gt i drive in the dutch 2 stroke champion my self and i wanted to give you a tip.
if you turn your steering wheel 4 times in 1 corner you lose a lot more time than you think so try not turning your steering wheel to much just turn in once.
an easy way to do this is holding youre steering wheel more down at the place they connect to the frame its just a tip from an other driver
btw youre vids are amazing
Unlucky Steve. You'll gettem next year.
Yay new video
Damn. Not all videos end with a happy ending. Congrats to Hicks
Atleast you didn't finish 6th in the championship
When you are starting the race you should press a little bit on the fuel pump that will help you when you are going slowly!
Steve Downes has a really badass helmet design.
