Hello, I have a question. For question number 38 on minute 10:45, why wouldn’t X be considered a mixture if it contains both an element and a compound. Also thank you so much for the videos I’m really learning .

Hi Valentina. Great question! X would not be considered a mixture because while Fe is an element and CaCO3 is a compound, they simply represent examples of substances and are not physically combined, the same way that air and NaCl(aq) represent two separate examples of mixtures. Hope that helps!

At 3:49 for question 8, if the two elements were at different phases with the same proportions would the answer be 1? If so why?

First, those are 2 compounds, not elements. Second, if they have the same proportions, assuming the same elements of H and O, then it would be the same substance, like H2O (s) and H2O(l), so yes, the answer would be choice 1 then.
