I just watched the video "Why LA doesn't need an NFL team"
Richard Dowswell SAME lol
Richard Dowswell same
LA doesn't need it - but it'll still be fine.
The NFL really really wants LA.
Richard Dowswell Exactly, this is the first time I have been disappointed in Colin. It's like someone in LA told him hey if you are going to do a show in LA, you are going to have talk LA.
it's soo irritating....ima a rams fan, who lives in los Angeles....am I happy?? yesss....but let me say this, just because the rams use to live here once upon a time, doesn't make this a rams town, I've met like two rams fans in my whole life.....you know why?? because this is a raiders town, ND the nfl will find that out the first time the rams play the raiders in los Angeles.....you go to a San Diego game, there more raiders fans than charger fans, it's sad....and where do u think those guys come from?? los Angeles....I'm happy the rams are here, but I think they made a mistake not bringing in the raiders....
Are you serious? Raiders drown out the comp in sand Diego Lol. Damn, shame.
+Iceburgg Slimm It's not a Raiders town either - it's a party town. It doesn't support its teams or the speedway, the TV money Cowherd mythologizes about doesn't give MLB, the NBA or the NHL or auto racing bodies the bang for its buck from LA - it's why all the teams have outdated stadiums and why the Fontana Speedway is irrelevant to racing despite Toyota supposedly sponsoring it.
+Michael Daly I never thought about it, but some la stadiums are "old looking"
Is that why the Clippers and Lakers share a stadium. Aren't the Kings in that place too?
+Iceburgg Slimm
ON the Clippers, Lakers, and Kings - It might be part of it. The two baseball teams have been in stadiums that I don't recall have been upgraded, and the Rams are supposed to play in the grossly outdated Coliseum while that Inglewood stadium is being built - and we;'re assuming it will get the local support to see it through, something Boston (by any measure a far stronger sports town than LA) did not get for the Olympics - NFL stadiums that have been built recently are all in proven football markets, of which LA is not.
+Iceburgg Slimm If the Raiders went to San Diego it would prove the entire effort for a team in LA to be foolish - why move the Chargers and then put the Raiders in? And why move ANY team at all?
Southern California is such a huge market the NFL will do fine
Surprised the chargers didn’t end up taking it over when they were the only team south of the bay
Los Angeles doesn't need the NFL, but the NFL needs Los Angeles.
Carlos Albert Yes you got to love mom jokes. Just like your mom likes these nuts.
Actually the LA Rams sold boat loads of seats in late 60!'s to late 80's I know I was there. The fan base for the Rams was huge. St. Louis I/10th the size of LA
Jar Jar Bing lol
LA is huge but in terms of sprawl it has nothing on Houston and other cities like it in the south, even smaller cities like Nashville.
When I was in college my roommate from LA stayed with me at my parents house in suburban Nashville and he was amazed by how sprawling even that metro area was. Atlanta is famous for its sprawl but for a southern city it actually has a decent public transit system in MARTA. I've lived in NYC and it doesn't compare to the MTA but no other American city is like New York.
Preach Colin. LA for life.
😎
6:50 that dating thing in nyc is straight facts lmaoooo
That bond film reference didn't make any god damn sense.....
Timothy Dalton was a great Bond. MGM screwed him over!
i live in LA and even tho i dont like the rams im exicted were getting a team back
Embrace them. Season 50 is upon us. LA Rams!
Since when have Bond movies been made in Hollywood Colin ?.
IKR?!? Like, what in the world was he thinking'
He never said they were made in hollywood he just was pointing out how just because the movies failed a few times they didn't stop making them
i don't think there will be empty seats at coliseum but who knows
The problem is that LA already has a team, and I’m not talking college. LA is a Raiders town. It doesn’t matter that they’re in Oakland and headed for Vegas: we’re still a Raiders town. The town already has a team, regardless of whether or not they’re playing here.
Moving Rams here: yeah, okay, that’s fine. We’re still going to root for the Raiders first, but we’ll tolerate them. But bringing the Chargers here is a disastrous move. They are the division rival for the Raiders. If they think LA is going to turn up and cheer for the Raiders’ division rival they’re very mistaken. Charger crowds will be away crowds. The stadium will be packed with fans for the visiting team. And God help them when the Raiders or Broncos come to town, because there are more Raiders and Broncos fans in LA than Chargers. The only thing that’s going to change that is the Chargers winning a Super Bowl.
And I’m sorry, but it does matter that the stadium is empty. Perception does matter. NFL is producing a product that the locals are saying, “We don’t want you.” That matters. A team can not survive in an environment where they’re unwanted.
Los Angeles Rams Superbowl Champions 🏆!
it dont matter what team goes there if they dont put a good team on the field people wont go. same reason they stopped going when the rams were in st louis. people arent going to pay money to watch a shit team
We still go to laker games and we're shit right now. And it's not just because it's Kobe's last season. We were still going before. And when McCourt was owner of the Dodgers we would still go to games even though the fans were boycotting him. And I don't think there will be a problem with attendance. Since the NFL has been gone for a while there are fans of every team in la. So they will also be selling a lot of tickets to opposing fans.
Y didnt the rams last there the firat time them..I understand what your saying and it has nothing to do with being fair weather fans or not its just common sense hard to sell tickets for a bad team yes u will sell some but not even close to as many as if they were good
+Mike Ravet the first time around, the Rams were here in LA for 48 years. I'm probably wrong, but they left for the same reason, the city of LA didn't want to build a new stadium. The coliseum is old. It can seat about 100,000 people. So yeah, the stands might look empty even though there are 60,000 people in attendance.
+ngarcia562 and they still arent the owner is funding it. st louis was going to pay for the new one there
BS. Doesn't matter. LA is the entertainment capital of the world.
What about Chicago?
Tbh the Star Wars prequel arent that bad. Proabaly because I grew up with them though.
If were in the business of moving teams bring the Bills to Brooklyn
Cleveland is a big market but Buffalo and Jacksonville aren't
Jacksonville is the 12th largest city in the us not a small market
How dumb can you be
Star Wars movies never failed though...
+Mitch Charles Critical...Yes
+rdskn4eva reviews destroyed it but the prequels had massive success can't consider that a failure
+Mitch Charles At least the prequels wern't remakes of previous movies.
+Mitch Charles As business ventures, no. As films, yes.
Are you kidding me? The prequels borrowed way more from the originals than The Force Awakens.
"You meet this cute girl in the bar and she lives in Santa Monica and you're on the east side, you gotta break it off" That's so true!
The NFL "did not" fail in L.A. The Rams and the Raiders left in the mid 90's because of inadequate stadiums!
The NFL is so successful that it still made money hand over fist despite not being in the #2 market in north america for 20 yrs.. St. Louis never stood a chance of keeping the rams once the team started to lose and attendance dropped.. Great beginning in st. Louis- kurt warner and 2 super bowl appearances and a ring in january of 2000.
I wonder what the one state he hasn't been to is- I'm guessing one of the Dakotas
He has really flip flopped. First he says no team in LA. Now he says this was a good decision.
I specifically remember on the Herd in ESPN that Colin always, always had the argument that no one cares about NFL in So Cal, especially LA. This is a completely opposite argument than what he had a year ago
ayy shoutout sherman oaks
Colin what is the one state you haven't been too?
In the last 20 seasons the Rams played in the L.A. Coliseum 1959-1979 the Rams were in the top 10 of NFL attendance every year except 3,and for 12 of those 20 seasons they were top 5. So much for the LA cannot support an NFL franchise myth. Those smaller crowds people love to talk about happened 34 miles to the south in Anaheim 1991-1994 which is practically a different market altogether and with Georgia Frontiera having one foot out the door to St Louis . The Rams just have to work hard at building back a young fan base to add to their older fans that attended back in the day.
There's also a saying on "Oh, Montreal can't thrive in baseball, so why have that team now?" It's because of that #stade dat looked more like an eyesore, plus the strike killed them. Now there's more momentum for Montreal to regain a franchise, and they will have that baseball team once again; the same can be said in L.A. [unfortunately].
+Manuel Hernandez Who knows?... Montreal may get the A's 'cuz rather Oakland build a stadium for the Raiders or not, Athletics are left out once again and they *SHARE* the facility with the Raiders. Our look out for that as this Raider-Oakland ordeal pans out.
I still hope that the Raiders stay in Oakland cos I don't want them back at all.
he's talking about L.A. like it's bigger geographically than Jacksonville... Jacksonville is literally 3 counties in one city..
LA has always been a football town...nfl or college...i agree with colin...not sure why critics would say its not a football town b/c rams/raiders left and they still don't deserve to be here...we should have our own expansion team but oh well
Los Angeles Rams Superbowl Champions 🏆!
They had problems thriving their before, LA has lost 3 NFL teams
The Rams & Raiders did very well there.
yeah, so good they left!
okay...but a few weeks ago it was "heres why L.A. doesn't need an NFL team".....?
+Vylan He did explained that. tdlr Los Angeles doesn't need the NFL, but the NFL needs Los Angeles.
He mentions the sprawl in LA, thats a big reason why NFL football won't work. Folks in North Ridge, Sherman Oaks, or Anaheim aren't going to drive 30 miles on horrible traffic to see a football game. Not even done with the first season, and the Rams are already struggling to draw fans.
Jar Jar Bing
The NFL will work in Los Angeles CA and sorry St Louis the Rams will work in Los Angeles the second major market needed the NFL back in Los Angeles
They'll work in terms of views but in terms of winning, no way in hell
@Jiglopuff, Really..? Los Angeles Rams Superbowl Champions 🏆!
but I like the rams in St Louis
Luis Garcia gross. LA Rams
@Luis Garcia, What is wrong with you?
Raiders need to be in LA also...chargers are always gonna be.a San Diego team
or they could've just moved chargers to la and that's it keep everything else the same as it was.
Elliott Koehler The Raiders are an iconic LA team. The branding marketing and licensing dollars they could have brought it would have be astronomical. Nobody in LA wants a Chargers team. I guess the Rams will do but the Raiders are LA's team
California has too many teams
They have a team for every 10 million people.
If that's the standard, not many states are getting teams.
Luis you’re either a hater or not knowledgeable.
Speaking of Los Angeles. They are front runners when it comes to football NFL. I think Hawaii in Honolulu are bigger football fans than LA and they don't even have a NFL team since they support their college football team. If they we're to put a NFL team in Honolulu I bet it would sell more seats than LA. Hawaii luvs football it's a big football state. But at the end it's all about money $$ on the table.
star wars and batman did not fail, just because a movie wasn't good doesn't mean it didn't make a ton of money
Batman and robin?
you are missing the point.
Dj Khaled
batman and robin grossed 232 million worldwide at the box office and that doesn't include home video sales
low number for a batman movie but more successful than most movies
projectNERV
no i am not
the movie business is all about making money, whether people actually liked the movie or not doesn't matter as long as people paid to watch it
Agent of Chaos
232 million world wide and that doesn't include video and dvd sales
The problem is, does LA still like the Rams? LA never had a legit team, it was always the Raiders, or the Rams, and a long time ago it used to be Chargers before they moved to SD. All 3 of those teams moved away and back at one point. Well anyway, the Rams are going to stay in LA for a long long time now because they are building a new stadium down there.
Go la fc and hooray galaxy
SO NOW YOU SWITCH SIDES HUH,PFFFFF THIS GUY IS JOKE
-my unthinked reaction
+Alexandre Almeida (AleX 2000)
What are you talking about?
this gy was against l.a. relocation and now he starts acceptong the fact THAT FAST
Alexandre Almeida
When was he against it?
+Agent of Chaos which is true.
Yeah but la was never a good market, so your argument is invalid
never a good market?! yeah right, that's why L.A has two professional teams of every other sports league/association!
Well said, it’s 80 degrees and we are 8 days from Christmas. God I love my city. It’s the only place where you could go Surfing, Snowboarding and hit the sand dunes in one day.
You should have tried to get the Raiders back, at least they won a SuperBowl. LA Raiders forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You just said LA didnt need a team.
+Jarrett Shaw
Yeah, they don't NEED one, but they should still get one (or two).
They should have 1. California already has the Chargers, the Raiders, the 49ers, and now with the Rams they have four.
Jarrett Shaw
Do you know how big California is?
Jacksonville is bigger then la
than. and no it's not
Let's bet 500$ paypal
+Oscar Madrid (OWNZONE) are you a goddamn tard? define "bigger"? population density? square millage? what?
+Brad Lamb I didn't say has more people and when are you going to send it
+Oscar Madrid (OWNZONE) i was asking a question you fucking tard. what do you define as "bigger"
That's complete BS.
Hasn't Colin seen the stadium? There are no people in the stance.
There are no fans caring about football in LA, there should be no football team there.
If you play in a dump (Coliseum) not too many people are going to want to go. Parking is $100. I know people that paid over $300 just for parking. That doesn't help.
I hope this fails again and it should because Kronke is so arrogant.
Didn't you do a segment months ago where you chastised this move arguing people would rather go hiking than attend NFL games? You are mocking yourself here, you said all of these things!
Cowherd gets it wrong immediately with his James Bond analogy - the two Bond films between Moore and Brosnan did well and have stood up well; this is why the series kept going. His movies analogy merely illustrates that Los Angeles is NOT a sports market - it is a party town, a transient demographic that does not support any of its six pro franchises or its speedway. The NFL doesn't make money out of LA, it makes money around the country, the other sports bodies DO NOT GET the bang for their television bucks from Los Angeles that Cowherd pretends the NFL will somehow get. The TV argument fails because it didn't save the Rams or Raiders in LA - they left because they could no longer avoid, having done just that for twenty-plus years, that the demographic simply would not support any team there. That he keeps citing how much the game grew since LA lost its teams contradicts his entire premise.
Too Big To Fail doesn't exist.
phillyslasher From history, that's where. LA lost both its NFL teams, two speedways, and potentially the Irwindale track because fanbases for these venues and its other pro sports teams are mediocre or worse. Don't lecture me about what LA is because we've all seen what it is - and what it isn't.
It's a party town, not a sports town.
That might be the laziest, most uninformed analogy I have ever heard in sports media.
All of his analogies are ridiculous.
As always..you are correct, Colin. Well done with the blonde chick as well...she does EXACTLY what she should do...sit there, say nothing, look HOT HOT HOT!!!!
His analogies are old. Just say what you have to say. He takes a topic and just drags it on to try to prove a point.
Yah like the last 2 times the NFL went to LA.... it's going to fail again.
the one and only reason the rams and raiders left in the mid 90's was because of inadequate stadiums! what part of that don't u understand?!
I have no problem with LA getting a Team back. I think that LA needed a team ,and never not needed a team. But Dumbass Goodell Wants a Team in Fucking London. I have also have a problem with the NFL MATH . California will now have 3 football Teams again. New York has 3 fucking Football Teams. Florida has 3 fucking Football Teams. My state of TEXAS where FOOTBALL is KING , only has 2 Fucking Teams and Both cant make the big Fucking Game. My Cowboys are in the shitter. Houston doesn't have a QB . so im thinking That the NFL should consider putting a Third Team in TEXAS . Maybe In San Antonio . It may b the only way that a Lombardi trophy could come back to Texas. DALLAS AND HOUSTON cant get it done. sorry to get off topic . Great Video Colin
The Dallas Cowboys won't win anything as long as Jerry Jones and no Jimmy Johnson the San Antonio deserves an NFL team it's mostly Latino so the Raiders are a good choice and they have matching uniforms like the Spurs I hope the San Antonio gets a team.
+asturiasra I hate to agree with you. bUT I've all but given up for my Cowboys to ever get back to the Superbowl. It's almost a Football Version of the Boston Red sox Curse. It's almost like the Cowboys are getting punished for the success of the 90s. But Jerry Jones has turned our Heroes into ZERO's . That's the reason why Houston is my favorite AFC team and wht that I suggested San Antonio for a 3rd team. Im not even sure that Houston can when the Big One. they don't even have a QB , they gonna have to draft and /or go through Free agency. sorry for the long rant, You brought up good points.
Cali has 4 teams now...not 3
+iTrap iTrance iElectro iChill Yeah Ugh Thanks for pointing that Out, What do you want " A cookie. So I missed LA , the RAMS aint shit no matter where they'll play, Like I said ,in reality it's 3. RAMS aint shit
BorderCity Bandit It's still 4 dummy & you make it sound like the other football teams there are good lol dummy
LA could've had Derrick Carr and Amari Cooper playing in your city... But instead you got a bunch of nobodies. The LA Rams will always suck and will never win a Superbowl.
+theFORCEismyallie I'd take Todd Gurley over Amari Cooper anyday.
todd gurley tavon austin and a defense to shit on the raiders 52-0 again
