#JayveeTV when cousin Dolores (I've only seen a few people react to know what her "musical transition" is called when she sings to Mirabel) if you notice her moving,dancing and singing to her *from right to left,or up and down* its called stereo movement or panning. And its very beautifully executed(there's other layers of panning going from this song during other characters parts but its more noticeable here)
The layered singing at the end is called a madrigal, which is the family name.

Listen, I don't have kids and I've seen this movie more than 10 times. We don't talk about Bruno is so catchy. I sing it all day! We don't talk about Bruno no no no!
Lin Manuel Miranda did a beautiful job writing the songs for this movie. Encanto is a great movie, definitely watch!! The family Madrigal each have powers and you get a sneak peak in the video. The layering on the sing towards the end and with them singing their own cadence is amazing
I was gonna watch it alone then by chance the whole family joined, and most of them usually don't enjoy animated movies but surprisingly they enjoyed it

Bruno is NOT a villain. Hes misunderstood because of his power to see into the future. So people fear what he's going to see. If you decide to watch the movie, he will explain about them getting married in a hurricane part
The whole movie, the soundtrack is fire, a visual and musical feast with a powerful message. I'm going to try to explain what could likely be inferred from this song after a few listens without actually spoiling anything. While the boogeyman correlation is definitely there, it becomes apparent after a few listens that Bruno sees the future, BUT because not all future events are rosy, people are seeing/hearing only of the negative and are blaming the messenger, as if he caused it himself. "Your fate is sealed when your prophecy is read." I would love to say more here about post-prophecy, but I REALLY don't want to give away too much. :D
Really recommend watching the full movie. Great songs and a good storyline.
The family are blessed with powers and Bruno's was the power of seeing visions of the future.

I’ve seen mixed reviews of Encanto, but I just watched it tonight and I really enjoyed it!
This is also what they call a "free skate" song in Broadway - near the end, all the different people's verses/pieces come together into one extremely complicated song.
Lin-Manuel Miranda brought his knowledge of Broadway to this show, and it shows. Man, if you haven't seen the movie yet, YOU NEED TO.

Everytime I listen to "We don't talk about Bruno" I think of "One day more" from Les Mis because of that coming together of all the voices :)

I totally recommend you watch it whether you have a youngster to use as an excuse or not. The movie's MUCH deeper than your average animated Disney flick. It's a masterpiece.
My favorite movie right now and it will have a good place in my all time favorite movies. I haven't seen all Disney movies but this one got my attention when the first trailer came out because it takes place in Colombia. I loved all the latino vibes in the trailer (I'm Costa Rican so I feel identified with the whole movie). This film has spectacular animation, colors, a beautiful story and so memorable characters. The music is fantastic as well. You must watch the film. I have already watched it 5 times!

Encanto was the thanksgiving release for 2021. I didn’t catch it until December in theaters. My mom and I enjoyed it very much.

I love this movie a lot my daughter loves it too. This song is my favorite and then Surface Pressure. We don’t talk about Bruno actually passed Let it go from Frozen thank god lol. Camilo and Dolores are my favorite parts in this song. Camilo where he shape shifts into “Bruno” and then Dolores part with the little quiet rap.
I just saw the movie a couple of weeks ago and you did a good interpretation without even seeing it. I actually came in the middle of the movie while my family was watching it and I was wondering what was going on with Bruno too. It's hard to follow if you haven't watched the movie. It's catchy but I'm so surprised that it outselling Let It Go from Frozen and it's first week.

Bruno is their brother who disappeared bc he wasn't being supported by his grandmother who was very authoritarian. In the Latino culture we sweep things under the rug when it's not a good thing like sexual abuse etc. That's why they're told not to talk about Bruno.
The instrumental reminded me too much of Santana's Smooth to be enjoyable.

Amazing movie, all the songs are firm. Wouldn’t expect less from Lin Manuel Miranda, great songs & choosing the perfect actors to sing them. I especially love that this movie takes place in Columbia and almost every actor/singer is at least part Columbian. The only living Columbian music legend missing is Shakira.
