    Thank you so much for this. I can’t afford to have my Irish Terrier hand stripped every 4 weeks and really want to learn how to do this myself. I think, with the right tools, I might have a go. I like the idea of using a stone rather than knives but will buy both.

    Great tips... thank you.... i’ve only had a few customers ask For hand stripping. I appreciate the tips on using the 10 blade on the neck and the rear end rather than stripping. Really appreciate demo of tools and tool recommendations!!!!!!

    Hello, your video is very informative and I have a question, I’ve been hand stripping my schnauzer and now he’s 9 month old. His wiry hair was very easy to pull off, but the base soft coat has been growing longer and longer and from the video you said we do not pull the base soft coat off, what should I do with the base coat if it’s keeping growing?

    My dog has a wiry coat but no undercoat. Is this something he should have done or is that only for dogs with an undercoat?

      We would recommend always talking to a professional dog groomer before thinking about hand stripping as they will know what best suits your dog and their coat type!

    I've never stripped a schnauzer bald in my life, maybe detail on the head and ears, but that's all. A rolled coat is the way to go, the coat quality gets better and better with each roll, do it about every 10 days

    Just curious, is it okay to wash the pup before or after hand stripping? I thought I had read that you soup’s wait two weeks btwn washing after hand stripping to avoid skin issues because the skin will be so tender after the stripping

    I'm sorry for asking a very stupid question. Does this method goes to all stripped coat dogs? I just found out not too long ago that my dog needs a stripping and there's only 1 proper groomer who can strip dogs. Mine is a mix westiepom

    • @Shadowraider121
      @Shadowraider121 Před 3 lety +1

      It depends on the type of coat your dog has. If he/she has a coat more like the westie and less like the pom then yes you can strip them, if they have a softer coat like the pom you won't be able to get a grip on the hair correctly.

      @@Shadowraider121 definitely a wired coat that needs stripping. 2 weeks ago I stripped her with this 1 groomer but she was traumatized and I want to learn to strip her myself

    What are the names of the knives you used to comb through the coat prior to stripping?

    Hi there,
    Unfortunately, our 7 month old schnauzer puppy was clipped in salon by mistake as they said((( And it was his first cut. Is that possible to hand striping or there is no way back? Please help!

    • @ChristiesDirect101
      @ChristiesDirect101  Před 2 lety +1

      Hi, if it has already been clipped, it's unlikely that it'll be able to be stripped now. If it has been neutered it also can't be stripped as it changed the hormone levels in the dog, so this is why the groomer may have clipped it. It is possible to get a stripped coat back on an entire dog with weekly stripping, however it is very hard!
