Maurice Richard

Maurice Richard a été le plus grand joueur de hockey de tous les temps. Bien de ses records ont été battus par des joueurs après lui, mais jamais personne n'égala son courage, sa passion et sa détermination. Tellement, qu'il devint une légende non-seulement pour les Canadiens-Français, mais pour les amateurs de hockey du monde entier.
Ce but marqué contre les Bruins de Boston est fort probablement le plus beau but de l'histoire du hockey. La beauté est bien sûr dans sa détermination à ne jamais lâcher ou se se faire abattre par qui que ce soit. On dirait que Richard leur aurait dit:''Plus fort vous me frapperez, plus fort je vais revenir''.

I was fortunate enough to have seen him play in the 1st NHL game that I attended, in his final year when I was 10. Even then, you could see that he was the one to watch.

Maurice Richard, the most influential hockey player who ever lived. The man who paved the way for players like Bobby Hull, Phil Esposito, Bobby Orr. He forced teams to value speed just to keep up with him and set the standard for what an elite goal scorer would become.

The Boston goalie in that series, was "Sugar" Jim Henry, who, had 2 black eyes, himself, it was a horrifically rough series!

And the movie respects that. Boston is the opponent Montreal deserves, plain and simple.Montreal and Boston love to play each other - and the rivalry is fierce - but in the end, we do respect a city that is as similar as it get...until the Nordiques come back!
