Sweet kit! Thank you so much for the shout-out! Much appreciated. I like all the additions you've added. Now to re-visit my kit😆👍
@Simplelittlelife No problem, I'm glad you figured out I was referring to your channel because I didn't say it very well in the video lol. I really liked your video and I have some updates coming to the EDC tool pouch. Thanks for commenting!
Has anyone seen one of these kits that look like they've been used? 😂
Love the kits but they all look absolutely pristine, well at least all the ones i've seen on channels!
This was the first version of the kit that was put together and then a video was made while the information was fresh in our mind. Otherwise it would never get published. I regularly use this and have updated it based on usage and feedback from comments. Got to publish a video to get feedback.
This is hands down the best mini tool kit setup I've seen. Been watching loads of these videos lately, but nothing like this. 🤘🏼
Thanks. Did you see the update video?
I would add disposable gloves, and Band-Aids, started adding those to my pouch, and actually use them alot
Good ideas. I will add those. I need to do an update video. Thanks for watching!
The Makita sockets are great, the sleeves are excellent to keep them organized in a really small form factor.
They are. Definitely don’t get the recognition they should. Thanks for watching!
@@projectpinehills Odd that there's no 5.5mm which is the common size for M3 nuts, 6mm sockets aren't used that often...
I agree. Thanks for commenting!
I really like that mini ratchet. Definitely gonna get one of those.
I just bought a 2nd one Saturday. Do it by the 4th of July, 20% off coupon. Thanks for watching!
The magnet is a excellent idea.
Thanks and thanks for watching!
This is a REALLY great load out.
I have a similar Knipex and micro wrench in my set-up, but you've given me some good ideas.
Thanks for making this and sharing your kit.
Thanks and thanks for watching!
Very complete socket/bit setup!
Thanks for watching!
Wow great set up! Awesome
Thanks for watching!
I like the magnet idea on the front. I’ll have to check into something like that. I subbed
Thanks for subscribing! 👍
Thank you for the video. My kit is similar. I do love the makita socket set! It is so underrated. The socket holders are flexible and very compact.
Yes the Makita set is great. Indexed socket organization is important. Check out the recent update video, v3.0 for this pouch. We made a lot of improvements. Thanks for watching! 👍
Finally found the icon tool kit at Harbor freight! After many months… it was the only one left. Really cool kit. Rivals the topeak with more options.
Good deal, glad to hear it. It was out of stock when I checked recently. Thanks for watching!
I just bought a 2nd one yesterday for 25% off. Store has one row of them on the shelf.
I’ve been making tool kits for my teenage kids to keep in their cars. Will be adding the Makita socket sets to their kits. I’m using the Maxpedition Beefy organizers so I can fit 7-inch tools. Works great and I’ve managed around the horizontal organization on the right side.
Nice, that's awesome. I have an updated video version 3.0 of this tool pouch. It has 7" tools in it, check it out. Thanks for watching!
Great choices in tools! I've been using a similar ratchet along with similar knipex and Klein tools and they're all very dependable.
Thanks, I've updated the load out with a version 2.0 video (czcams.com/video/LgFRMKIylHY/video.html) and I need to do a version 3.0 video that has a lot of improvements. Thanks for commenting and thanks for watching!
@@projectpinehills I'll check it out! Always good to improve and adjust your toolkit as life moves forward.
Wow , really and great kit and presentation as well. Thank you for sharing. You’ve earned a new sub.
Thanks for the sub!
That huskey utility knife is my favorite knife.
They changed it and now it's way bigger.
I wish they would go back.
Yes it was a good size and I wish they still offered it. Thanks for watching! 👍
Awesome set up. I use a Chapman set for tight spots, but I’ll have to try this icon set out
I'll check out Chapman, I'm interested in any suggestion. Thanks for watching!
@@projectpinehills The Icon, VIM, as well as every other brand that offers this 1/4" ratchet is out of stock. It's probably all from the same factory
@@toddcoble1485 Maybe that’s the case. It’s amazing how the stock fluctuates on this item.
@@projectpinehills I'm happy to report I found the Icon kit in stock this week!
This past weekend, I saw two rows full of them on the rack. I guess some stores just don't have them.
Nice kit man! I have several points of crossover in my kit! I need to post a video of mine soon. Keep up the great content!
Nick, thanks for the positive feedback and I hope you check out the tool pouch 2.0 video. A 3.0 video is in production now. Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍
Great kit. thanks for sharing!. Personally I also added a "Danco 80132 5/16 In. Sillcock Key" because ya never know. a super loud and flat whistle and a little pen shaped telescopic magnet. Because of you video, I now need to order another Klein touchless voltage tester because my truck bag is now missing one. lol. Thanks again.
A sillcock key doesn’t take up much space. I’ve since added a telescopic magnet to the setup. I know what you mean with the non-contact tester lol. Thanks for the feedback and check out the 3.0 version of this pouch.
Nicely thought through. I agree with your comments re Maxpedition needing to make a slightly larger pouch with the orientation the same as the EDC Pocket Organizer. I've used the Beefy for the additional capacity, but would like something a bit longer
Thanks. Check out the updated version of this pouch in a recent video I posted showing the 3.0 version of this pouch. Thanks for watching! 👍
This was excellent, thank you so much for the content! Refreshing to see a kit that doesn't include a bunch of pens and pencils
Thanks and thanks for watching. Checkout the 2.0 video for this as I’ve made several improvements. I have also moved to a Klein 14 in 1 for the screwdriver. 👍
I'll check it out! @@projectpinehills
I’ve been doing a lot of research on building a tool bag like this. I wanted to put a Wera tool check but I would have to pick between metric and imperial set. The makita sockets are EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. Thank you sir! It’s a great set up!
I had the same consideration with the Wera tool check. Check out the 3.0 version of this pouch on the channel that was just put out recently. I made a lot of improvements. Thanks for watching!
Very nice setup...maybe a small pry bar and cable saw would be a nice addition
I agree. Working to free up more room as well. Thanks for the feedback!
Great idea really love your video
Thank you and thanks for watching!
Excellent, thank you!
You are welcome! Thanks for watching!
Neat setup !
Thanks for watching ! 👍
Thanks for doing. I've got dame pouch and alit of the same tools. Like the magnetic disc idea. I've got VIM ratchet , klein precision screwdriver with bits stored in front in dewalt bit case plus wera toolcheck plus. No full size screwdriver in mine . rolls of gorilla tape wrapped round some old credit / reward cards Agree pouch could be longer. Thinking of changing to a vanquest husky 2.0 pouch which similar to maxpedition but slightly larger.
Check out my recent update to this pouch, the video is titled version 3.0 and let me know what you think. Thanks for watching! 👍
Beautiful 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Great video.
Thanks, check out the version 2.0 video and the 3.0 video is coming soon! 👍
Thank you.
Thanks for watching! 👍
Thanks for sharing that load out! This kit looks really hand to keep in your car. I currently keep a Wera Zyklop in the car, but I have no wrench or pliers.
Yes good for in the car, that Wera Zyklop is nice! Thanks for watching!
Probably be better off with the Maxpedition beefy rather than stretching out the E.D.C.
Maxpidion does make one model longer 😎
Does it have vertical tool storage?
Harbor Freight has a new icon mini tool kit coming out in 2024 that will include sockets and a socket/bit driver. I think it was still come with the wrench and other items.
That’s right, they do, but it will be a different style ratchet system. It makes use of a 1/4” drive adapter to 1/4” hex and won’t be as compact as the mini ratchet in this load out. 👍
4:23 Not sure what you said there? That magnet thing was pretty smart and I'm going to copy that 😀
If your expecting perfection, you came to the wrong place lol. Glad you got something out if it. Thanks for watching!
@@projectpinehills I'm not expecting perfection I'm not native english speaker so I just wasn't sure what you said there. So no worries and video was good keep doing EDC tool stuff =)
Thank You!
4:23. "So we jump over here." He means we go to the other side of the bag.
That’s right!
Anyone else screaming "take the bits out!"?
You talking about the railed 1/4” hex bits?
Yeah I have the same frustration with their fatty model. You may wanna check out the Vanquest EDCM-Slim 2.0 Maximizer. Believe it’s 8x6x1 pouch and the organizers are same vertical on both sides. Anyhow. Nice edc. A bit over stuffed. That Vanquest would be perfect. Check it out.
I think you might be on to something, it does appear to be 8 inches tall and twice the depth. I'm checking it out. Thanks for commenting and watching!
Looking at this in detail, this pouch might be exactly what I described wanting in the video. Thanks for letting me know about it!
Couldn’t help but buy that Vanquest 8 inch I mentioned. Just received. It’s perfect. Gonna build one out to keep on one of the electric bikes we take camping. I too like the full size screwdriver. The 11 in 1 Klein fits in this no problem in length. Handle girth may be issue depending on placement of other tools. Enjoyed your video. Very practical/usable picks. 🤝
I've updated the EDC tool kit load out with the Vanquest check it out: czcams.com/video/LgFRMKIylHY/video.html
@@projectpinehills Very nice 👍. Now that is perfection. 😀 Knew that would be perfect for you. That sir is an absolute usable Tool EDC. Great video update. I subscribed today. It’s nice to be able to network with folks that have the same interests.
Looks like an awesome setup! I'd recommend some superglue/contact cement. I always carry a small tube and it has come in very handy several times.
Also, fiskars makes a small folding scissor with orange plastic handles ghat would barely take up as much space as that utility knife. Those would be really nice if you need to smip anything small which you can't fit in the wirestroipper jaws.
Thanks for the feedback, it's always a work in progress. Thanks for watching!
Great kit. What’s that little awl you’re pointing with?
That’s a straight pick from Ullman pick set. I missed that when going through the load out. I have a link in the description. Thanks for commenting and watching!
Have you considered the wiha 6 in 1 screwdriver instead?there's 6 longer bits store in the back with more bit options in a pack and is all 1000v rated even the interchangeable bits! I went with the slightly smaller pocket max version. Significantly reduced the amount of screwdrivers I need for work
Are you talking about Wiha 28345 pocketmax?
The added length may be nice, but you can take this pouch with all the tools and fly. TSA limits tool length to 7". Just a thought...
Thanks for the feedback! 👍 and thanks for watching!
I completely agree about Maxpedition. They can do better making a tool pouch. Unfortunately, I've had to look elsewhere for the perfect one.
What did you find? Thanks for watching!
@@projectpinehills I went with a roaring fire tool roll but it still doesn't fit my needs. So, the search continues.
I checked those out too.
That's a bit much! Maybe for a Bug Out Bag! That's a nice kit.......
It’s really a small top bag. Thanks for watching! 👍
Looks like ur ready to take a service call!😂
You bet! 👍
Maybe move to the maxpedition fatty/beefy ? I like to carry a Tic tac container with a few nails & screws. (Consumables). Maybe even drywall picture hanger & always a length of flexible wire 12 ga? )
I’d like to see an update to the beefy but I may give it a shot. Definitely going to add the screws and I meant to add the wire lol. Thanks the feedback and thanks for watching!
Also: after months of checking my local harbor freight I finally found an Icon tool kit! If was the last one… but so worth it!
This past weekend, I saw two rows full of them on the rack. I guess some stores just don't have them.
Great Video. I have a maxpedition Fatty, a couple of Vanquest, and Roaring Fire Ember. Maxpedition does make an 8" bag is called the "Skinny", but the right hand side bungies are orientated sideways. And there is no top load pouch on the left. The Vanquest 8 inch pouch has the same challenges. The Roaring Fire might be what you are looking for but it has 2 separated man compartments.
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!
I just picked up the Vanquest EDCM-Slim 2.0. It has the same interior orientation as the Maxpedition EDC, but is slightly larger. It's PERFECT for my EDC toolkit
Thanks, I’ll check it out.
Makita set is very nice !
I think it deserves more recognition. Thanks for watching!
Algo
Thanks for watching!
Wonderful video
Thank you and thanks for watching!
a small vise grip plier maybe
I’ve been considering that one. Thanks for commenting!
Cant find those 1/4" makita with laser etching sockets anywhere
There is a link in the video description. 👍
If I could find something like that that attached to my belt, I'd buy it in a second without hesitation. I carry a pocket screwdriver, pen, Milwaukee Sharpie, Milwaukee multitool(the utility knife with the screwdriver), a Klein non voltage tester, pencil, pump pliers, multitool, 30 ft tape, and earbuds all with me daily. Plus my wallet, keys, and a flashlight. I wanna add a pair of strippers, but Im running out of room. Currently in my pockets are my wallet, notebook, pen, pencil, light, sharpie, hankie, pliers, and knife. On my belt is my keys, multitool, pistol, tape, and ear pods
Sound line you have a good setup. Thanks for watching!
Maxpedition makes a pouch that is just a little bigger.
Yes, but does it have the same pocket layout? Thanks for watching! 👍 I used a larger vanquest pouch for version 2.0 of this pouch.
I’m pretty sure maxpedition makes a larger edc pouch
They do, but the pockets are oriented differently. I got a Vanquest pouch. Thanks for watching!
I use a Maxpedition Skinny for a similar pouch. I just don't use the straps going the other way. The deeper sides of the Skinny, Beefy, and Fatty holds things together well enough - unless you're constantly moving the pouch around while it's open.
I considered the skinny, thought everything might rattle around but I should really try it first. Thanks for watching!
The skinny is the way to go. I keep the knipex 180 pliers wrench and cobras in the straps on the left. Behind that is room for the knipex 145 combo pliers, klein precision screwdriver, a 200 mm cats paw and probably something else. On the right I use the straps to hold a fastback, streamlight mictostream, 9ft dewalt tape measure, and railer double row ball end hex set. The pocket behind that holds my makita 1/4 in sockets, icon low profile 1/4 in ratchet, extensions, universal adapter, pen, and bit extender. Zip ties in a heat shrink tube and a pb Swiss insider sit against the inside seam. Rather packed out the way it is but no issues with things rattling or shifting around.
I’ll have to try it. Thanks for sharing!
have you ever needed to use it when your not at home or within walking distance from your car?
only scenario I can think of is riding a motorbike as its got limited space
Yes I have. I’ve grabbed it when riding with someone else and ended up replacing a dead car battery and putting furniture together. Just like you I thought would I use it? Well I’ve made sure it works for specific jobs. Replacing a faucet, changing a car battery, replacing a switch or receptacle, fixing a gate latch. I’ve grabbed it instead of grabbing the big bag as well. Thanks for watching!
It’s great for a motorcycle!
Great loudout. But, the magnet mod is gold.
Thanks for watching!
Just make it an edc briefcase or edc 12 draw tool trolley. Get everything IN there, even a dog food bowl to feed your dog in an emergency.
Already have that, thanks for watching!
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for watching!
Lmao
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
I'd break that ratchet in a week
Thanks for watching!
Exotac fire starter and a straw wrapped with duct tape.
Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!
This is edc? You really need an electronic voltage tester on you everyday? Also, the giant 4 way screwdriver and precision screwdriver would have been better replaced by 1” bits used in the icon ratchet.
Thanks for the feedback, you make a valid point.
Everyone's EDC is different and personal. I carry a voltage tester. Do I use it everyday? No. When I need it, am I glad I have it. Oh yes.
Thanks for watching!
Pronounced NIP-ex. The k is silent. Like in knife.
That’s not the case. Knipex has videos on CZcams and the company pronounces it with the k. Thanks for watching!
1” you mean 1/4”
No, I mean 1” long, 1/4 hex bits. Thanks for watching!
I think you must spoke I know for a fact. Those sockets sets are not fifty dollars a piece or even together
$15 dollars a piece, sounded like fifty lol. Thanks for watching!
I really did like the video though a very cool set up
Thank You and thanks for commenting!
While I know they've become popular, I personally don't get the point of one of these tool pouches. What's the use case for it? In the house surely you'd grab your tool box. In the car space isn't constrained so again, tool box. On a motorbike this isn't really the right setup and it's a tad bulky. Backpacking there'd be no need for half of this, way to much weight. I just don't get when it's for!
That's understandable. I have ensured that it can accomplish specific jobs like replacing a car battery, replacing a light fixture or a kitchen faucet. Thanks for watching!
politics and agenda over all, apparently they havent noticed what a dumpster fire the Star Wars universe and MCUterus has become.
Personally I’d take out the hex bits put in some torx instead also if you have strippers you need some electrical tape otherwise it’s pretty complete
Yes, definitely add vinyl tape. Could wrap it around a lighter. Thanks for watching!
@@projectpinehills If we are going that far might as well throw in a couple of those little solder wire connectors that you can heat with a lighter if you need to. I would also ditch the voltage tester and swap it for a pen multimeter, you can get very small pen mulitmeters not much larger than that and far more useful (though you would need to add the cable though...). I was also ditch the wire strippers for a nice sharp pair of side cutters, then you can still strip wire but you can also do other tasks.
Those are some good ideas, I’m following up on those. Thanks for watching!
@legallyfree2955 I considered putting a pen style multimeter in there but are but I don't have one small enough. Can you send me a link to one you think would fit?
@@projectpinehills AHHA! UNI-T UT118B Looks exactly like the one I used to have except it's not green mine was probably rebranded from that or a cheap knockoff. I think Uni-T is a decent brand, it does take a CR2032 battery though.
*edit* thats weird, my last reply to you vanished, what I had said was that I couldnt send you a link because I couldn't find my old one but that the Aneng A3008 looked about the right size and it used a AAA battery instead of the cursed button cell battery mine had used hence the reason I probably lost it, and hence the "AHHA" at the start of this comment because I had been searching for the one that I had had.
I mean you have like 4 of the same tool maybe a little variety would be better
Thank You, always room for improvement.
Is it me or does it look like these things are never used or hardly used. It’s common observation I’ve noticed from most edc channels.
I have observed the same.. I think this represents a thought exercise more than a real edc. I have struggled to figure out a combination that allows me to do the most with the least amount of tools. In reality I carry tool box with my tools. I have yet to see one with grease and drywall dust. It seems to be a fun way to play as an adult..by showing tools you can buy...
@tooxtalivai0690 It’s you lol. The tools are new because they were bought to fit the pouch. Thanks for watching!
By the way knipex tools are the most stolen items on a worksite actually anywhere those things attract thieves like flys on shit that’s a caveat you may want to add to future videos, that shit ain’t cheap
@@projectpinehills wallet, keys, knife, 5” wrench (not knipex), lighter, smokes, pistol, phone just like all normal cunts putting all that shit on your waist and walking around with it makes you look like a dork. Trust me you see them everywhere looking like fucken Batman, how about take a leaf outta macgyvers playbook and have a stealth carry where you actually can blend in. And be efficient having all that shit is a fuck around and deep down you know it.
If you have thieves around, anything is up for grabs. Can always have a second much cheaper tool.
Probably be better off with the Maxpedition beefy rather than stretching out the E.D.C.
