Vegeta actually looks shorter in Super than in the Majin Saga. In Dragon Ball Super, it looks like Vegeta's build becomes close to his first appearance, but leaner.

I was really stressed when freeza went golden when he was revived by baba. Super saiyan 3 used up a lot of energy for goku, shortening his time in the real world drastically, but freeza went straight to perfect golden form. I would assume increasing his power in such a way would have the same effect as when goku went ssj3, but I guess not?!
ssj3 using VITAL FORCE to force himself to transform ,in the other world he has no problem cuz he was dead, i think he just scream all the time to try to get stronger lol. Frieza already unlock his golden form when he was revived, he just cant control it yet
I think a big part of it has to do with the fact that SSj3 was discovered in the otherworld, while Golden Freeza was discovered in the normal world. Goku specifically says SSj3 isn't met for the real world, and only works properly in otherworld. I don't remember exactly why, but he does say it. So I'm guessing that fact is why SSj3 drained Goku's time on Earth, but Golden Freeza doesn't seem to. Oh, and also there is the fact that Freeza has apparently mastered the Golden form, and eliminated the stamina drain from it. While Goku was still new and completely unused to SSj3 and it drained his stamina greatly. These are just my guess though.

BoG arc, good enough ending RoF arc, Vegeta getting the kill Universe 6 arc, perfect ending Future Trunks arc, Trunks stays in the normal timeline Universal Survival arc, U6 wins, wishes or brings all of U7 or every Universe to 6's and goes on with the next arc. It would actually be kinda awesome knowing that Gohan can become a pride trooper if every universe is in U6.

I like to think freeza is actually a powerful telekinetic, using psychic powers inadvertently to augment natural strength-he trained so his mind let him get strong enough, even if he wasn't training nearly enough
They took way too long to decide what they were going to do with Gohan in this series. Now I will admit, I watched Dragon Ball Z for completely superficial reasons. It was nothing more than a power fantasy to me. Cool moves, over the top fights, etc. I can enjoy the epic character moments like Vegeta's sacrifice. I couldn't enjoy Chi Chi nagging and essentially stopping the action and plot. So when Super became more about character development, I felt nothing for the characters. I watch other anime for that. But if you're going this route, can you be consistant? Coming from that superficial mindset, if Gohan's going to be a scholar and nothing else, can you just take him out of the story? He serves no purpose to the narrative anymore, so just let him ride off into the sunset. If not, then build on him being a scholar. Seriously, he barely does anything in Super when he's not fighting. Have him use his smarts to affect the plot more. I'm sure Bulma wouldn't mind having him help her out once in a while. Either way, don't sit here and teeter on whether he's a scholar or a fighter for 80 episodes. A little build up is fine, but this was overkill, especially for a concept that started way back in the Buu Saga 20 years ago.
From the perspective of someone who actually does watch Dragon ball super for the character development, yeah I don't think Gohan's been handled that well. But it's not exactly like they could write Gohan out of the show. 1. The Gohan fans would be furious 2. He's still in the finale of Z fighing in the tournament. But yes, they could have handled it better but instead they're trying to have their cake and eat it too.
I mean, technically they could have just wrote Gohan out and gave him a reason to come back later. Android 17 got away with it. I can't speak for Gohan fans though. If they like this boring angle his character has taken, constantly showing signs of greatness but never meeting the mark, then I guess Super is successful. As for me, I stopped caring about the characters after the original Dragon Ball ended and now I just tolerate them and wait for the fights.
The problem is that, while it has Toriyama's script, the bulk of the anime's storyline is made by TOEI... and they have NO IDEA of what they're doing. That's why they have so many inconsistencies and plot holes.
on the note of 17: my poor memory + him never really showing up or being mentioned again + only 18 being thrown up by cell made me honestly think 17 was dead for good. I legit didn't remember he was wished back. I think the lack of him being around and stuff made my mind twist what happened. I remembered krillin asking for it and thought shenron was just like "nah, cant". and gain I think my brain twisted it to being "oh, he wasn't thrown up by cell, so he must still be apart of cell, so they cant wish him back without wishing cell back or something" So him coming back in super made me go "wait, what? when? how!?!?!?" then when i pointed this out to a buddy he showed me a youtube clip of the wish actually succeeding and i felt dumb...but yeah, he really doesn't need to be there
Gohans Powerdrain: I thought the "explanation" of him loosing the "warriors spirit" was quite good actually. Gohan rarely, if ever, realized his full potential from the get go. It happened with Raddiz, Frieza, heck,, even with Cell and he was specifically trained for that fight. He always needed a push. To quote you guys: "STAY SNAPPED !". So, take a long time off of training, studies, a day job and family duty and you end up with a Gohan that didn't just forget how to tap into his strength but did forget how to be a warrior all together. And personally, i thought it was a great plot vehicle. Gohan was treated as a bigger ace in the hole than even Goku was, since Gohans power increased extremely inconsistently. The fact that he overtook every Super Saiyan level in his base form would have meant that even Goku would have fallen behind, no matter the training. And we've seen that he can almost compare to SS-Blue in an all out battle. If properly trained and "snapped", he'd give everyone a run for their money, thus, a nerf was, in my opinion, less about him becoming weaker and more about the rest getting back into the spotlight and out of his shadow. If we're talking nerf / buffs, i think its far more baffling that folks like Tenshinhan or Krillin are still viable options in a team consisting of people going head to head with gods now. They received some major buffs out of the blue by simply..."training". Something that wasn't enough for the entirety of DBZ. And keep in mind, Krillin basically did the same as Gohan(Quit fighting, got a job and formed a family). He bounced back further ahead than ever before rather then just getting back where he left off.
I think everyone forgets that goku was like as tall as goten for a while if goten is 12 or 13 it makes perfect sense seeing he's clearly more Goku than gohan was

The thing is, with Frieza, he's not the only character that mind trained. Gohan and Krillen fought with their minds on the way to Namek, so couldn't Frieza do the same? Plus, Frieza could have beaten Goku in Resurrection F if he had taken the time to practice his new form. It's never stated that Frieza *couldn't* power up in hell, even to practice his golden form.

Honestly all of these don't really bother me. When I watch super I just turn off my brain and enjoy the episode for what it is. When I watch a show critically I enjoy it less, and with all the problems in my life I want TV to help me escape that and give me enjoyment. That doesn't mean I accept everything shown to me, I still call bullshit if something is too bad. That happened when I watched the last 3 episodes of Samurai Jack season 5. That was so bad I couldn't ignore it.

The writing could've been better, and it SHOULD be easy to do, the story is very simple. MasakoX Friezas method of mind training is a real thing, ever hear of meditation? Mental rehearsal? There have studies that simply imagining yourself getting stronger will lower strength loss when not actually training. In Friezas case he is a mutant and gets more benefits from it
Of course, sir. However, Super suffers from a chronic case of lack of clarity. It would've been nice if we could get more of an explanation from Freeza about his struggle in Hell instead of a 5-second reference.
Didnt frieza explain, how he mastered ki-controll in hell? the difference between the new and old golden frieza forms is the same as the one between super saiyan god super saiyan and regular super saiyan: ki controll, not leaking energy all the time. especially since goku mentioned in resurection F, that frieza attacked right after obtaining his new form, without beta testing it first, meaning he didnt even use the strength he already had back then to its fullest.
On the subject of #1 -- Vegeta's height is clearly proportionate to his level of heroism. He was super short as a villain, then only kind of short as an villainous ally, then a bit taller as an anti-hero, and now he's a full-fledged and unquestionably good guy. At this rate, he'll be at least as tall as Piccolo by the time the series ends!
About Gohan's power drain, what about this? It's pretty much implied that the powers of Super Saiyan are unlocked not only with raw power but also sparked by emotional instability right? Of all the current Saiyans I'm convinced Gohan is the most emotionally "balanced" of them all, he's got a nice life right now, something to focus on, his wife, child, work etc... Compared to Goku's lust for power battles and Vegeta's pride (and competitiveness with Goku) Gohan is perfectly balanced, doesn't this influence his power somewhat? Also there hasn't been a "large" threat to the world up until DBSuper, not like the Saiyan Saga, Freeza, Cell or Buu his youth was marked with danger and uncertainty, which might explain his strength throughout DBZ. Just some thoughts, have you got an opinion on that?
It might have something to do with him going mystic. Slacking off after such a spontanious boost in power, could cause a rubberband-like, hot water cools faster than cold water-effect.
madCRO Sure, it isn't a perfect theory, but still, a few years of peace would make your senses a bit dull. I mean, with the Freeza revival, Gohan's emotions went from a 0-100 distress, that would make you pretty much useless, it's perhaps a Saiyan thing.
In regards to Shenron, it is worth remembering that his rest time is dependant on the amount of wishes he fulfills (he theoretically can fulfill two wishes per year, if he only fulfills one he can be resummoned in only 6 months, something told to us in the Buu saga).
Freeza's power boost in Hell isn't so odd. Piccolo got a power boost while on King Kai's planet and all he did was meditate. Throw in the infinite energy of being dead and he could have practiced while still remaining strung up. As for the heights, blame that on the new character designs. Look at Mr Satan, he's SCRAWNY now. Everyone's changed with the new designs.

I'm a little surprised you didn't mention the Kaioshin population issue. In the Buu arc, it was made clear that there were originally 5 Kaioshin for the entire universe (in the same way that there are 5 Kaious), but 4 were killed/absorbed by Buu -- Presumably Beerus is still alive because there is at least one still alive. Yet, in the Universe survival arc... every universe has only 1 Kaioshin? Why? Did every universe have a Majin Buu that wiped out their Kaioshin? On a side note, Frieza's power boost and Gohan's absurd weakness aren't necessarily that way off the mark. In both cases, it can kind of boil down to energy control and management so that the same amount of energy can be utilized more effectively and efficiently -- this can just as easily relate to being able to manage stamina as well as let energy loose more explosively (i.e. more power) in controlled bursts. In Frieza's case, he practiced exactly that. Gohan is also doubly affected by the overwhelming impact of plot, which as we know, is far more powerful than even Jiren.
frieza not training a day in his life is bull shit. how did he learn to transform? how did he learn to use those destructo discs and control them? how did he learn how to make death balls? if he seriously never trained, he would only have access to the most rudimentary ki skills and fighting style which would be a brawler. in the end, it's just a poor excuse to make him relevant. and then again, why is he gold? his species physically transforms.
He is like a more extreme version of goku in terms of learning shit by just seeing it. Remember when goku learned kamehameha just by seeing it once or twice.
When it comes to Bulma and Krillin getting shorter this is easily explained through their pure human biology. Vegeta didn't grow taller - Bulma got shorter. Same with Krillin. Human beings naturally get shorter by each decade past their prime. Lets face it, both Bulma and Krillin are in their 40s, nearly 20 years past their prime right? Bulma just lost a couple of inches from natural decay while Krillin got the short stick (pun intended) because his entire body has been broken before on multiple occasions. As such he gets shorter faster. I'm not going to even touch up on the kids. I can easily explain the Dragon Ball inconsistency with Beerus wishing for Shenron to 'scram'. Shenron technically didn't grant a wish and was just sent away, spreading out technically still charged Dragon Balls that can easily be used again at any time they are brought back together. Inconsistency remedied. The Gohan inconsistency can be explained by something very specific to his personality - mental blocks and PTSD. The PTSD is obvious, he had been fighting like a soldier since he was a toddler and made into a fighting machine. But wait, wouldn't his Saiyan DNA make him immune to such psychological trauma? If he were a pureblood sure. But we aren't dealing with a pureblood, here we are dealing with a hybrid that has shown in his life a lot of RECESSIVE TRAITS (the tail for one). So therefore his mental state was weakened which led to him losing his ki control. The strength was actually all still there as could be seen when he regained his ultimate form, but it was sealed behind a mental block of his own creation when he just concentrated so much on his mind that he just forgot how to be a Saiyan. Beerus and the dinosaurs? Well thats simple, he missed a few. He has not been shown to be the most competent god in the multiverse. The hair colors of Bulma and Trunks are also an easy explanation here. I know this because my hair without dye does the SAME THING! It has to do with sun exposure. How much sunlight is seen in the future timeline during the Goku Black arc? Not a whole lot huh? It is all kind of bleak and dark and without much light at all. As such the color in both Bulma and Trunks' hair has dulled. Also how often do you see present Bulma running around in the sunlight despite being able to. Not as much as she used to because she is working a lot in the Capsule Corp. labs. So therefore her hair color has also dulled. My hair is naturally dirty blonde but if I spend a lot of time in side or just getting up at night my hair dulls to a deep brunette. So when she goes back to turquoise at the end of Z she is fully running Capsule Corp. in a more executive capacity which nets her more time in the sunlight with her family and likely some vacation beach time. So it brightens back up quick. Frieza? Well, I think that deserves its own full series. ARE YOU LISTENING DRAGON ROOM!

Inconsistency 7: How the fuck does SSB and SSG work? Do his god powers inherently enhance his base and SSJ forms? Is it like an extra source of power he can draw from? Can he use SSJ2 with bis god ki to make SSB2? HOW THE HELL DO THESE FORMS WORK!?
Jesus Senpai In BoG, Goku, being the fighting genius he is, absorbed the God ki and was able to tap into that power because his body experienced it. So, yes, SSJGSS is exactly that, Super Saiyan with God ki enhancement. Do you even watch the show?

In the manga he could use SSG separately from his other forms so is that when he's using god ki? They never fully clarify this at ANY point in the show or manga.

American Goku of DBZ is the inconsistency. English Dub of Super's goku certainly has more comedic moments, but they also make the show a little more mature as well during some moments. And goku has *always* been dumb
About inconsistency #2, Goku actually stated in the episode that everyone wants a wish, that "we only had one wish last time, so I figured we could summon the dragon earlier to resurrect King Kai." So it is not really unexplained.

This just popped up during a disscusion with my friends: You know how Whis said that when a Universe gets destroyed the Angel assigned to the God of Destruction gets called back to Zeno? And it was said that Zeno destroyed 4 Universes in the past. So there must be 4 unemployed angels sitting around at Zenos place. But we never saw them. What happened to them? Who are they?
I think as for the shinran explanation, that the reson he shows up as and takes less time to charge is the possibility of berus getting pissed, he , shenran himself , doesn't want to piss of the distroyer
Honestly my biggest "problem " with super story is...how irrelevant the SuperDragonBalls(literally the origin of the name of the show) are.I mean ...they were used ,what?2...3times .The first one to create an Earth for U6( ok , fair enough) but the other 2 times they were used by zamasu , and BOTH were easy wishes .Changing bodies and immortality? Really? Pretty sure even the earth Dragonballs could do both of these.Anyway they just seem too ...useless. IMO in the end if the future trunks Arc they should've made him stay in the Main timeline and fight in the Tournament of Power so he could atleast try to restore his universe/timeline with the winners wish, thus giving them a much important use. Considering how nearly impossible it is to use and find the super dragon balls (especially without Zuno or a gods help) I don't know what you really expect. Also i doubt the earth dragon balls or namek dragon balls could make those wishes that Zamas made. And before you mention garlic jr. he isn't canon.

In Z the Dragon Balls were mostly used to bring back whoever is killed during the Arc. And I´m sure that the Super Dragon Balls wishes are harder to reverse. It should be easy to find the Earth Dragon Balls and wish for Garlic Jr. immortality to be canceled again than finding the Super Dragon Balls and do the same with Zamasu.

The biggest inconsistency here is that in the end of z, Bulma says that it had been five years since she saw Goku. This is an inconsistency that has bothered me SO MUCH throughout super.
Hi MasakoX, i'm not sure if this had been answered before, but I just wanna ask this, what happened to the monkey tail that every saiyan was born with? i don't see any tails on the universe 6 saiyans as well. We never see Goten and Trunks having one coz we can make an assumption that it was already removed due to the time skip on the Buu Arc. But what about Bulla? she's a 1/2 saiyan just like Gohan, Goten and Trunks. Pan doesn't have a tail too but that's kinda debatable coz she's a 1/4 saiyan some may say that she got from her mom side. it's this another inconsistency of toriyama?
You could say for Trunks and Goten its because they're sayians. When Goku was 12 he was about as big as Goten, then at age 15 he shot right up to the height he is today. As for Maron... I don't know, #18 doesn't want her to grow-up I guess?
Well, as for Marron, Krillin is kind of a midget, so I guess Marron is just going to be shorter like Krillin. After all, Krillin was about as tall as Marron is right now, back at the beginning of the manga when he was first introduced and started training along side Goku under Master Roshi.
Goku didn't shoot up to his current height until he turned 18 during the 23rd tenkaichi budokai. He only grew slightly when he turned 15 during the tenshinhan arc.

Speaking of power levels and inconsistencies.. I want to know what the heck base form powers are now. Those are all over the place. When Frieza appeared I'm pretty sure Gohan stated that he was well above him in his prime, while in form one. In base form Frieza shot through Piccolo, who's probably above SSJ2 by now, at least and tore Gohan down. Now that being said, when Goku (base form) fought Frieza's fourth.. If you keep Z's power up scale from Frieza, his fourth form should be well above Boohan. So base form Goku could cripple Buu, since he smacked Frieza around with ease. Now that being said, Roshi was about to stand against base form Goku. So.. Roshi is now stronger than Buuhan? Piecing this stuff together is insane.
Well Goku was holding back against like he always does. Now the base form thing is tough, but imo I think that whole absorbing ssjg thing was retconned after the frieza fight since Trunks and Gohan's base forms are comparable to Goku and Vegeta's base forms
Super Saiyan is a enhancement of your base form, if your power level is 100,000 and you go Super Saiyan you get a 50x multiplier to your base form so you new power level will be 5 million, however if your base power level is say 10 million your Super Saiyan power level would be 500 million 4th form Frieza from Frieza arc was around 120 million to 150 million, Gohan by the end of Buu had around 16 billion to 18 billion power level... but at the start of Super they wanted to get away from power level or revamp ... back them up so I guess they could mean around Cell arc were Gohan was around 2 billion to 3 billion, that would make more sense
About the use of the dragon balls early, was there not a line said by someone that because Shenlong was summoned to only ask a question from the god of destruction and the remaining wishes weren't used that they could summon him much earlier than normal for the remaining wishes? I forget who said that (I'm at work on lunch so I can't look it up until I get home) but I seem to remember King Kai or Little Green saying something like that... I was seriously expecting time travel and alternate timelines to be on this list. trying to keep track of them all during the Goku Black arc was an enormous headache.
I was thinking: shouldn't Freeza's revival in the movie/arc have been impossible? If I remember right, you can't bring someone back if they died more than a year prior, at least when using Earth's Dragon Balls. Did that get altered at some point and I just don't remember?
I think since Dende remade the DBs, they now have that capability, it just takes more power. But in that case, there shouldn't have been 2 more wishes for Mai and Shu to use, so it's still inconsistent
they explain this very issue in ressurection f. shenron can actually ressurect a person with no time limit; the catch is that after a year, he can't fix your body when bringing you back to life. since freeza can survive for a short time as a bunch of meat chunks, his ressurection goes fine since they immediately throw him in a healing pod.
What about in Buu's saga, when Freeza saw him fight kid Buu? He was in "normal hell" with Cell, and when resurrected, he was in the "toys and fairies hell", and he was kinda surprised Goku defeated Buu...
The MAJOR inconsistency for me is the whole resurrection of Frieza. If i remember right, Piccolo told Vegeta ( a few moments before self-destructing to stop Boo) that once he died, his body and soul would be purified and he would reincarnate in something else. No evil guy would ever be allowed to keep his body in the afterlife. Later we found out by Fortune Teller Baba that Vegeta was allowed to keep his body for...reasons. But with this in mind, seeing that Frieza still had his body in Hell after all these years was a major plot hole for me. Also, you see him multiple times in Hell during the DBZ Anime, and he was free to move, not cocooned somewhere with teddy bears...
Gohan's power dip... I work out 4-5 days a week and I've been doing this for almost a year and a half. Earlier in May I was sick for 3 straight weeks and wasn't able to exercise at all. Do you want to know how much my max bench went down, in only THREE WEEKS? 25%. And over a month since getting back to work I've only gained back half of what I lost so far... So yeah, in 4 years of no training I'm not surprised.
Frieza perfected his golden form not by thinking but by transforming and sitting in the golden form for as long as he could until he could hold it with minimal effort like how goku and Gohan mastered super saiyan by holding it in the time chamber
There was a thing in Dr. Slump where Arale goes back in time and stops the meteor from wiping out the dinosaurs, so it's possible that Beerus just didn't realize the dinosaurs weren't all destroyed, but I doubt the writers would've thought that far ahead.
My Gohan theories: 1; Pan has his power, he was drained conceiving Pan; 2; constantly acting like Hercule is a as strong as him offended his sub-conscious saiyan pride; he stopped, mentally, being in a place where he was prepared for combat, But was still stimulating that part of the brain prior to the Buu arc. Vegeta's height: either he is floating in all of those shots, or he got so pissed off during Bulma's teasing that he used the Dragon Balls to steal a few inches from someone who wouldn't notice.
What if, a Goten of an alternate timeline, was resentful of how his father had left him before he was even born. So he decided to train and get strong and kill everyone like an old school saiyan and was then approached by Zamasu and they made their whole plan.

When Goku first goes Kaio-ken blue he has bad Ki control after and is told not to use it anymore because it may lead to permanent loss of ki control. and now he just does it whenever so thats 1. 2. early on we were told that if Gods of Destruction were to fight the universe as a whole could be wiped out. we even saw it happening when berus and champa went at it. but now durring the tournament of power arena testing.... well lets just forget we ever said that part.
here is why I said Geene is the god of destruction stronger than beerus because in episode 96 the grand priest told the 4 gods of destruction to fight to test out the arena then only 3 of them went to fight and Geene stayed and his angel asked him why isn't he go ing to and he said "the results are obvious." So he probably was thinking of when he arm wrestled beerus. And thats why I think Geene is the God stronger than beerus.

Vegeta actually looks shorter in Super than in the Majin Saga. In Dragon Ball Super, it looks like Vegeta's build becomes close to his first appearance, but leaner.

I was really stressed when freeza went golden when he was revived by baba. Super saiyan 3 used up a lot of energy for goku, shortening his time in the real world drastically, but freeza went straight to perfect golden form. I would assume increasing his power in such a way would have the same effect as when goku went ssj3, but I guess not?!

I think a big part of it has to do with the fact that SSj3 was discovered in the otherworld, while Golden Freeza was discovered in the normal world. Goku specifically says SSj3 isn't met for the real world, and only works properly in otherworld. I don't remember exactly why, but he does say it. So I'm guessing that fact is why SSj3 drained Goku's time on Earth, but Golden Freeza doesn't seem to. Oh, and also there is the fact that Freeza has apparently mastered the Golden form, and eliminated the stamina drain from it. While Goku was still new and completely unused to SSj3 and it drained his stamina greatly. These are just my guess though.

I like to think freeza is actually a powerful telekinetic, using psychic powers inadvertently to augment natural strength-he trained so his mind let him get strong enough, even if he wasn't training nearly enough
They took way too long to decide what they were going to do with Gohan in this series. Now I will admit, I watched Dragon Ball Z for completely superficial reasons. It was nothing more than a power fantasy to me. Cool moves, over the top fights, etc. I can enjoy the epic character moments like Vegeta's sacrifice. I couldn't enjoy Chi Chi nagging and essentially stopping the action and plot. So when Super became more about character development, I felt nothing for the characters. I watch other anime for that. But if you're going this route, can you be consistant?
Coming from that superficial mindset, if Gohan's going to be a scholar and nothing else, can you just take him out of the story? He serves no purpose to the narrative anymore, so just let him ride off into the sunset. If not, then build on him being a scholar. Seriously, he barely does anything in Super when he's not fighting. Have him use his smarts to affect the plot more. I'm sure Bulma wouldn't mind having him help her out once in a while. Either way, don't sit here and teeter on whether he's a scholar or a fighter for 80 episodes. A little build up is fine, but this was overkill, especially for a concept that started way back in the Buu Saga 20 years ago.
From the perspective of someone who actually does watch Dragon ball super for the character development, yeah I don't think Gohan's been handled that well. But it's not exactly like they could write Gohan out of the show.

If they like this boring angle his character has taken, constantly showing signs of greatness but never meeting the mark, then I guess Super is successful. As for me, I stopped caring about the characters after the original Dragon Ball ended and now I just tolerate them and wait for the fights.

The problem is that, while it has Toriyama's script, the bulk of the anime's storyline is made by TOEI... and they have NO IDEA of what they're doing. That's why they have so many inconsistencies and plot holes.
on the note of 17: my poor memory + him never really showing up or being mentioned again + only 18 being thrown up by cell made me honestly think 17 was dead for good. I legit didn't remember he was wished back. I think the lack of him being around and stuff made my mind twist what happened. I remembered krillin asking for it and thought shenron was just like "nah, cant". and gain I think my brain twisted it to being "oh, he wasn't thrown up by cell, so he must still be apart of cell, so they cant wish him back without wishing cell back or something"
So him coming back in super made me go "wait, what? when? how!?!?!?" then when i pointed this out to a buddy he showed me a youtube clip of the wish actually succeeding and i felt dumb...but yeah, he really doesn't need to be there

I thought the "explanation" of him loosing the "warriors spirit" was quite good actually.
Gohan rarely, if ever, realized his full potential from the get go. It happened with Raddiz, Frieza, heck,, even with Cell and he was specifically trained for that fight.
He always needed a push. To quote you guys: "STAY SNAPPED !".
So, take a long time off of training, studies, a day job and family duty and you end up with a Gohan that didn't just forget how to tap into his strength but did forget how to be a warrior all together.
And personally, i thought it was a great plot vehicle. Gohan was treated as a bigger ace in the hole than even Goku was, since Gohans power increased extremely inconsistently.
The fact that he overtook every Super Saiyan level in his base form would have meant that even Goku would have fallen behind, no matter the training.
And we've seen that he can almost compare to SS-Blue in an all out battle. If properly trained and "snapped", he'd give everyone a run for their money, thus, a nerf was, in my opinion, less about him becoming weaker and more about the rest getting back into the spotlight and out of his shadow.
If we're talking nerf / buffs, i think its far more baffling that folks like Tenshinhan or Krillin are still viable options in a team consisting of people going head to head with gods now.
They received some major buffs out of the blue by simply..."training". Something that wasn't enough for the entirety of DBZ. And keep in mind, Krillin basically did the same as Gohan(Quit fighting, got a job and formed a family). He bounced back further ahead than ever before rather then just getting back where he left off.

The thing is, with Frieza, he's not the only character that mind trained. Gohan and Krillen fought with their minds on the way to Namek, so couldn't Frieza do the same? Plus, Frieza could have beaten Goku in Resurrection F if he had taken the time to practice his new form. It's never stated that Frieza *couldn't* power up in hell, even to practice his golden form.

He was super short as a villain, then only kind of short as an villainous ally, then a bit taller as an anti-hero, and now he's a full-fledged and unquestionably good guy. At this rate, he'll be at least as tall as Piccolo by the time the series ends!

About Gohan's power drain, what about this? It's pretty much implied that the powers of Super Saiyan are unlocked not only with raw power but also sparked by emotional instability right? Of all the current Saiyans I'm convinced Gohan is the most emotionally "balanced" of them all, he's got a nice life right now, something to focus on, his wife, child, work etc... Compared to Goku's lust for power battles and Vegeta's pride (and competitiveness with Goku) Gohan is perfectly balanced, doesn't this influence his power somewhat? Also there hasn't been a "large" threat to the world up until DBSuper, not like the Saiyan Saga, Freeza, Cell or Buu his youth was marked with danger and uncertainty, which might explain his strength throughout DBZ.
Just some thoughts, have you got an opinion on that?
It might have something to do with him going mystic. Slacking off after such a spontanious boost in power, could cause a rubberband-like, hot water cools faster than cold water-effect.

Freeza's power boost in Hell isn't so odd. Piccolo got a power boost while on King Kai's planet and all he did was meditate. Throw in the infinite energy of being dead and he could have practiced while still remaining strung up. As for the heights, blame that on the new character designs. Look at Mr Satan, he's SCRAWNY now. Everyone's changed with the new designs.
We technically don't know if Piccolo did get stronger on King Kai's world, since the first thing he did was fuse with Nail when he got to Namek.

I'm a little surprised you didn't mention the Kaioshin population issue. In the Buu arc, it was made clear that there were originally 5 Kaioshin for the entire universe (in the same way that there are 5 Kaious), but 4 were killed/absorbed by Buu -- Presumably Beerus is still alive because there is at least one still alive.
Yet, in the Universe survival arc... every universe has only 1 Kaioshin? Why? Did every universe have a Majin Buu that wiped out their Kaioshin?
On a side note, Frieza's power boost and Gohan's absurd weakness aren't necessarily that way off the mark. In both cases, it can kind of boil down to energy control and management so that the same amount of energy can be utilized more effectively and efficiently -- this can just as easily relate to being able to manage stamina as well as let energy loose more explosively (i.e. more power) in controlled bursts. In Frieza's case, he practiced exactly that. Gohan is also doubly affected by the overwhelming impact of plot, which as we know, is far more powerful than even Jiren.

When it comes to Bulma and Krillin getting shorter this is easily explained through their pure human biology. Vegeta didn't grow taller - Bulma got shorter. Same with Krillin. Human beings naturally get shorter by each decade past their prime. Lets face it, both Bulma and Krillin are in their 40s, nearly 20 years past their prime right? Bulma just lost a couple of inches from natural decay while Krillin got the short stick (pun intended) because his entire body has been broken before on multiple occasions. As such he gets shorter faster. I'm not going to even touch up on the kids.
I can easily explain the Dragon Ball inconsistency with Beerus wishing for Shenron to 'scram'. Shenron technically didn't grant a wish and was just sent away, spreading out technically still charged Dragon Balls that can easily be used again at any time they are brought back together. Inconsistency remedied.
The Gohan inconsistency can be explained by something very specific to his personality - mental blocks and PTSD. The PTSD is obvious, he had been fighting like a soldier since he was a toddler and made into a fighting machine. But wait, wouldn't his Saiyan DNA make him immune to such psychological trauma? If he were a pureblood sure. But we aren't dealing with a pureblood, here we are dealing with a hybrid that has shown in his life a lot of RECESSIVE TRAITS (the tail for one). So therefore his mental state was weakened which led to him losing his ki control. The strength was actually all still there as could be seen when he regained his ultimate form, but it was sealed behind a mental block of his own creation when he just concentrated so much on his mind that he just forgot how to be a Saiyan.
Beerus and the dinosaurs? Well thats simple, he missed a few. He has not been shown to be the most competent god in the multiverse.
The hair colors of Bulma and Trunks are also an easy explanation here. I know this because my hair without dye does the SAME THING! It has to do with sun exposure. How much sunlight is seen in the future timeline during the Goku Black arc? Not a whole lot huh? It is all kind of bleak and dark and without much light at all. As such the color in both Bulma and Trunks' hair has dulled. Also how often do you see present Bulma running around in the sunlight despite being able to. Not as much as she used to because she is working a lot in the Capsule Corp. labs. So therefore her hair color has also dulled. My hair is naturally dirty blonde but if I spend a lot of time in side or just getting up at night my hair dulls to a deep brunette. So when she goes back to turquoise at the end of Z she is fully running Capsule Corp. in a more executive capacity which nets her more time in the sunlight with her family and likely some vacation beach time. So it brightens back up quick.

In the manga he could use SSG separately from his other forms so is that when he's using god ki? They never fully clarify this at ANY point in the show or manga.

Honestly my biggest "problem " with super story is...how irrelevant the SuperDragonBalls(literally the origin of the name of the show) are.I mean ...they were used ,what?2...3times .The first one to create an Earth for U6( ok , fair enough) but the other 2 times they were used by zamasu , and BOTH were easy wishes .Changing bodies and immortality? Really? Pretty sure even the earth Dragonballs could do both of these.Anyway they just seem too ...useless. IMO in the end if the future trunks Arc they should've made him stay in the Main timeline and fight in the Tournament of Power so he could atleast try to restore his universe/timeline with the winners wish, thus giving them a much important use.

Considering how nearly impossible it is to use and find the super dragon balls (especially without Zuno or a gods help) I don't know what you really expect. Also i doubt the earth dragon balls or namek dragon balls could make those wishes that Zamas made. And before you mention garlic jr. he isn't canon.

We never see Goten and Trunks having one coz we can make an assumption that it was already removed due to the time skip on the Buu Arc. But what about Bulla? she's a 1/2 saiyan just like Gohan, Goten and Trunks. Pan doesn't have a tail too but that's kinda debatable coz she's a 1/4 saiyan some may say that she got from her mom side.

You could say for Trunks and Goten its because they're sayians. When Goku was 12 he was about as big as Goten, then at age 15 he shot right up to the height he is today.

Well, as for Marron, Krillin is kind of a midget, so I guess Marron is just going to be shorter like Krillin. After all, Krillin was about as tall as Marron is right now, back at the beginning of the manga when he was first introduced and started training along side Goku under Master Roshi.
Goku didn't shoot up to his current height until he turned 18 during the 23rd tenkaichi budokai. He only grew slightly when he turned 15 during the tenshinhan arc.

Speaking of power levels and inconsistencies.. I want to know what the heck base form powers are now. Those are all over the place. When Frieza appeared I'm pretty sure Gohan stated that he was well above him in his prime, while in form one. In base form Frieza shot through Piccolo, who's probably above SSJ2 by now, at least and tore Gohan down. Now that being said, when Goku (base form) fought Frieza's fourth.. If you keep Z's power up scale from Frieza, his fourth form should be well above Boohan. So base form Goku could cripple Buu, since he smacked Frieza around with ease.
Now that being said, Roshi was about to stand against base form Goku. So.. Roshi is now stronger than Buuhan? Piecing this stuff together is insane.
Well Goku was holding back against like he always does. Now the base form thing is tough, but imo I think that whole absorbing ssjg thing was retconned after the frieza fight since Trunks and Gohan's base forms are comparable to Goku and Vegeta's base forms
Super Saiyan is a enhancement of your base form, if your power level is 100,000 and you go Super Saiyan you get a 50x multiplier to your base form so you new power level will be 5 million, however if your base power level is say 10 million your Super Saiyan power level would be 500 million
4th form Frieza from Frieza arc was around 120 million to 150 million, Gohan by the end of Buu had around 16 billion to 18 billion power level... but at the start of Super they wanted to get away from power level or revamp ... back them up so I guess they could mean around Cell arc were Gohan was around 2 billion to 3 billion, that would make more sense

I was thinking: shouldn't Freeza's revival in the movie/arc have been impossible? If I remember right, you can't bring someone back if they died more than a year prior, at least when using Earth's Dragon Balls. Did that get altered at some point and I just don't remember?

they explain this very issue in ressurection f. shenron can actually ressurect a person with no time limit; the catch is that after a year, he can't fix your body when bringing you back to life. since freeza can survive for a short time as a bunch of meat chunks, his ressurection goes fine since they immediately throw him in a healing pod.

The MAJOR inconsistency for me is the whole resurrection of Frieza. If i remember right, Piccolo told Vegeta ( a few moments before self-destructing to stop Boo) that once he died, his body and soul would be purified and he would reincarnate in something else. No evil guy would ever be allowed to keep his body in the afterlife. Later we found out by Fortune Teller Baba that Vegeta was allowed to keep his body for...reasons. But with this in mind, seeing that Frieza still had his body in Hell after all these years was a major plot hole for me. Also, you see him multiple times in Hell during the DBZ Anime, and he was free to move, not cocooned somewhere with teddy bears...
Gohan's power dip... I work out 4-5 days a week and I've been doing this for almost a year and a half. Earlier in May I was sick for 3 straight weeks and wasn't able to exercise at all. Do you want to know how much my max bench went down, in only THREE WEEKS? 25%. And over a month since getting back to work I've only gained back half of what I lost so far... So yeah, in 4 years of no training I'm not surprised.

There was a thing in Dr. Slump where Arale goes back in time and stops the meteor from wiping out the dinosaurs, so it's possible that Beerus just didn't realize the dinosaurs weren't all destroyed, but I doubt the writers would've thought that far ahead.
My Gohan theories: 1; Pan has his power, he was drained conceiving Pan; 2; constantly acting like Hercule is a as strong as him offended his sub-conscious saiyan pride; he stopped, mentally, being in a place where he was prepared for combat, But was still stimulating that part of the brain prior to the Buu arc.
Vegeta's height: either he is floating in all of those shots, or he got so pissed off during Bulma's teasing that he used the Dragon Balls to steal a few inches from someone who wouldn't notice.

Honestly, that would have been more interesting, but highly implausible.
What if, a Goten of an alternate timeline, was resentful of how his father had left him before he was even born. So he decided to train and get strong and kill everyone like an old school saiyan and was then approached by Zamasu and they made their whole plan.

other inconsistencies ive noticed. When Goku first goes Kaio-ken blue he has bad Ki control after and is told not to use it anymore because it may lead to permanent loss of ki control. and now he just does it whenever so thats 1. 2. early on we were told that if Gods of Destruction were to fight the universe as a whole could be wiped out. we even saw it happening when berus and champa went at it. but now durring the tournament of power arena testing.... well lets just forget we ever said that part.

here is why I said Geene is the god of destruction stronger than beerus because in episode 96 the grand priest told the 4 gods of destruction to fight to test out the arena then only 3 of them went to fight and Geene stayed and his angel asked him why isn't he go ing to and he said "the results are obvious." So he probably was thinking of when he arm wrestled beerus. And thats why I think Geene is the God stronger than beerus.
