Foreigners Buy A House In Philippines - Iloilo City

  • Today is the day we talk about how foreigners can buy a house in the philippines legally and specifically in iloilo city. We will be talking about our experiences and how we can to choose iloilo city as a place to buy a house and also about what fee's we had to pay such as property owners tax.
    Buying a property in the philippines is actually pretty straight forward and easy considering how difficult it can be to buy a house in england. People warn you about hidden fee's that put many foreigners off investing abroad but we are here to tell you that it was perfectly fine and we did not find any hidden fees in this purchase.
    We could possibly be the first foreigners who do youtube to invest in the philippines and hopefully more people follow our lead and buy condominiums or houses in the philippines and join us
    PS iloilo is our home town now :-)

    Chris & Cody, can I make some suggestions to get more views?
    1. Reduce video length to 15 minutes max. CZcams counts views only after a certain percentage of the video has been watched. I suspect you have more actual viewers but they don't count if they watch less than half of a 35-min video.
    2. Change the intro roll. How about making it more exciting by using the best footage from your trips. With the number of places you've visited, I think you have more content than most vloggers.
    Please don't get me wrong -- I know getting YT money is not your top priority, but I feel that all your hardwork to give us content deserves more views than other channels.

    Here's the skinny on what you've bought ... Sub-standard construction materials used, Fire walls and flooring are not "tanked" which means should you or your neighbour have a plumbing problem , you'll both have a wet humidity problem. You will have to replace almost everything from toilet fixtures including doors to windows throughout the property . You will need 3x400 mil insulation in the roof space to maintain a cool house plus heavy heat reflective curtains . Good luck with your purchase .

    • @CoshanUncharted
      @CoshanUncharted  Před 5 lety

      hey sumisu, i am not surprised at some of what you say to be honest. I new before we bought that the build quality was not going to be anything like home but im really pleased you told us what specifics to look out for and perhaps look to get them sorted out earlier rather than later. Im guessing you have also bought into a sub division to?

    • @AndyOnMactan
      @AndyOnMactan Před 5 lety

      @@CoshanUncharted Hi there guys , No I have not bought into a sub-division as have two of my friends who were enticed by the low monthly repayments on these projects. I was called in to remedy some of their problems and they have since taken my advice to abandon and sacrifice their holiday romance of ownership. The Philippine people are a lovely people but if you ( A foreigner) leaves a house unoccupied for any length of time it's generally understood that you are rich and can afford to leave it unoccupied . As you are foreigners and stand out like a couple of nails , of course the neighbours are going to talk and the lovely Philippine people like to tunnel through the firewall in the roof space .

    • @kylelander2140
      @kylelander2140 Před 5 lety

      not all though. it largely depends on the developer. there's could be good. and since it's still being constructed, I suggest you guys ask about insulation. they install a basic one but couldn't hurt to ask if more can be added...and maybe some sound barrier as well. i know you'll have AC anyway but a few more roof padding can save you up on electricity in the long run. great choice on the location. it's my top choice as well outside metro manila.

    We chose Iloilo 17 years ago and built here 5 years ago. It is incredible how this city has grown since I flew into the old airport at the new Megaworld site and pleased to see they intend to keep the old airport control tower (next to Marriot Coutryard Hotel). Now, it you want to know a bit of BRITISH history in Iloilo (when Iloilo was the Queen of the South), checkout Nicolas Loney, the Portsmouth business man who made Iloongos stupidly rich through his importation of British Colonial sugar cane and manufacturing from UK, during the late 1800's and industrial revolution period. This man made Iloilo what it is today and at that time there were 19 British companies operating in Iloilo, including mainly loan companies for sugar cane manufacturers, shipping and assembly of Mercedes cars! Saw this video at the British Consulate meeting in Iloilo a couple of years ago when the Queens Envoy also came to Iloilo. Now Mule Loney is in the heart of the city with his statue near the old customs building on the harbor - I don't know any other statues here (maybe wrong). Proud of our contribution to Iloilo way back then and I strive too to help Iloilo become more self sufficient from Manila through my small efforts and solar company I set up 3 years ago. Tribute to all Ilongos and welcome to our community guys. Caspergooner.

It has the oldest golf course in the Philipines and one of the oldest in Asia. During the American era before WW2 Iloilo is known as millionaires row because they have more millionaires than Manila. After the war they went to Manila and other places to re-establish lost wealth and left Iloilo in a very slow but quiet recovery and seems like time stood still for Iloilo. Iloilo was the last capital of the Spanish empire in Asia. Iloilo was the last to surrender to the American forces. Iloilo has a very rich history and culture. Welcome!!!
