The 1968 film was beautiful but a little hollow to me in that it felt like it was playing out tired commercial film conventions and the Heidi character was nothing like the one from the book. She looked completely bored in the mountains for quite a while before her tune changed. The original Heidi immediately found her true self and happiness at first sight.

Watching this makes me feel emotional. I've read Heidi story in my childhood and even I am from the Philippines, a tropical country it fascinates me and give me an amazing feeling how Heidi lived her life during her lifetime along the Swiss Alps. Thank you Heidi for being a gift to the world.
