In our families we always have the phera at Gurudwara sahib but one of my cousins married a Hindi Baniyas, this entire family is just Devine, down to earth. We enjoyed the night wedding with early hours vedayi. That marriage pertained most mixed customs. One of the groom’s one sis was married in Hindu Punjabi & the second one in Tamil. It was a lot of fun as we enjoyed so many rituals. The juju’s family didn’t only respect our extended families but the families of the in laws families of his sisters. Very generous, as usual a baniya wedding. We requested them to not have non- veg dishes but they cater for non vegetarian ( in our family majority are near water). The literally arranged a special room type corner to segregate the food to ensure no contamination. The king story short, it was a Indian wedding !!
