    Woot, I'm famous! XD
Really glad you guys enjoyed the band. Both of the scream vocals are done by the main singer, but the guitarist and the bassist do backing vocals sometimes (the female vocals in this song were done by a Taiwanese opera singer though). Also, the lead singer is a politician in Taiwan, I shit you not. As for the video, I still have no idea what the "human centipede" is, but the general gist of it is Taiwan fighting for independence throughout history and the ending with the riot cops touches upon the 2.28 Massacre, an important part of Taiwanese history and the beginning of their modern independence movement.
Pretty much all of their songs are fantastic and you couldn't really go wrong with any of them. I still recommend Takao tough. Both the song and the video are beautiful. And I'll stop ranting now. Cheers!

The song is not singed by two people, but the same guy,Freddy Lim.
And the last part is featured by Mei Yun Tong , a famous Taiwanese opera actress .
The story of the song is talked about the people who lived in Taiwan were persecuted by few different regimes for hundreds of years
Every song they wrote is about the history story of Taiwan.

  • @bonoformosa9225

Boy, the bodies are the Taiwanese people past away on the battles against intruders and settlers in past hundred years. That’s what this song is talking about. As a Taiwanese I cannot stop but crying each time I listen to the song.
We are looking for the recognition from other people in the world to our independence and the dignity of standing from past tragedies.
The local language said a young man tried to visit the hell to change the destiny of Taiwanese worriers who were fighting with Chinese Nationalist Army which was a new settler replacing Japanese after WW2. Before the battle in 1947, this song mentioned, the were more than 10-20 thousands of unarmed citizens killed by KMT troops.
    F..k damn history.!

Hi I'm Chthonic's fan from Taiwan.
The following is my use GOOGLE translator in order to more complete answer some of your questions and a brief introduction of CHTHONIC. Please forgive me for any grammatical or literal mistakes.
They use fights and assassinations as the theme of the MV because Bú-Tik Palace used to be a place where foreign colonies clash with Taiwanese in Taiwan including the Qing Dynasty, Japan and KMT. The body in the MV represents the victim of the conflict.
The main vocal part is Freddy Lim. Whether high-pitch scream or low-pitch scream. The part of the lyrics that is not in English is the famous Taiwanese opera actress.
Freddy's instrument is Taiwan's traditional instrument erhu. It is like a violin but only two strings.
As for what you say is also a DING DING sound from Taiwan's traditional musical instruments, but I am not sure what the instrument.
CHTHONIC's album is the story of Taiwan, whether it is history, myths or folklore, you can go to their FB or CZcams looking for their songs. Lead singer Freddy Lim is currently Taiwan's legislator, so the current performance time is much less than before, and almost no concert tour around the world. Recently CHTHONIC has a movie coming to Taiwan and LOG lead singer Randy Blythe is also involved, but I do not know if other countries will be released.
At last, I am very happy about your reaction to this song.
    LET'S METAL \m/

The enemies they were fighting in the music video is referred to the colonizers that oppressed Taiwan, from the Qing Dynasty, the police and army of Japan,to the fascist government of KMT after the ww2 and the China civil war. They fought in Bu tik palace which not only is one of the symbol of imperial japan, and later used as the police station for the KMT,but also as a battlefield when the 228 uprising took place in 1947 when the Taiwanese rebel fought back the Chinese army in 40:700 ratio. The naked body at the end can be referred to the souls that was lost fighting for Taiwanese liberation and democracy.

You should check them out if you're in the mood.

This song is about the Taiwanese suicide pilots fighting for the Japanese imperial force during WWII. Taiwan used to be a part of Japan until Japan lost the war. And the Taiwanese people were somehow confused during wartime, unsure of weather we were Chinese, Japanese or mere Taiwanese. But it didn't stop many young man join the imperial force just to find a place of they could call their own.
