Rhaenyra was apprehensive to send Jace out for three reasons; first of all, he's her heir. secondly, he's riddled by vengeance and she's afraid that Jace will act out of impulse. and third, she just lost her other son... cut her some slack. she's merely anticipating that Baela will act with more vigilance. It's not like she's in a position to get hurt anyways! she's just on the look-out

Also Vaemond was trying to steal Corlys' grandchildren's inheritance. By law, even if Rhaenyra's children are bastards, Laena's children would inherit before Vaemond. So Vaemond was trying to steal his grandniences' inheritance as well as disinherit Rhaenyra's kids.
And it wasn't even confirmed that his brother was even dead yet.

Rhaenyra sent Baela instead of her son for evident reasons :
1) Jacaerys is her official heir to the throne and she don’t know, given what’s happened to Lucerys, what other bad things could befall after little Jaehaerys killing.
2) She is probably fed up with hot-headed men who are acting by passion over thinking about consequences.
3) Baela seems a very prudent and intelligent person. She’s been raised, for the most part, by her grandmother and Rhaenyra who are themselves the pillars of the Targaryen/Velaryon family…

Everything happening is Otto’s self fulfilling prophecy. The war, the murder of Luke and Jahaerys.. all because of his ambition and wanting his own blood on the Throne. And it’s fucking ironic because it was Otto’s suggestion to begin with that Vizzy name Rhae the heir to the throne.

Why doubt Rhaenyra’s intentions with White Worm? She has never shown herself to be vindictive. It’s always interesting to see how people are quick to assign devious character to women without any evidence of it.
Just because she snuck some good lovin into her life she’s a bad person? She didn’t even cheat on her husband, for real. He was down with the scheme and she helped him escape to find happiness (instead of killing him which was the only other way out).
Y’all are judging her too harshly. And Auntie Rhaenys is another real one that should give you more faith in the Blacks, but for some reason you don’t factor her character into your “both sides are bad” analysis.

I think it’s less about judging Rhaenyra, and more about distrusting anything good in the HOD series. Especially right after she said it doesn’t do her any good to let her go. So I was suspicious of why she suddenly changed her mind, but hoping she’d just needed the minute to think about it.
Just like how everyone was suspicious when that cart started shaking and every single person I’ve watched had feared they’d drop that boy’s head or body. I’m so glad they didn’t, but you can tell they really built the suspense for that.

Jace, Rhaenyra's heir, is angry about Luke's murder and Baela's dragon is faster than his. Plus, they only have 6 dragon riders at Dragonstone: Rhaenyra who is the queen and the Green's biggest target, Jace who is angry enough to do something impulsive if he sees Vhagar or Aemond, Joffrey who is 6 years old, Baela who seems to have better restraint than Jace, Rhaenys who is patrolling the Gullet and Daemon who went to Harrenhal.
Rhaenyra didn't expect Daemon to change, she says it herself she was a child who was groomed and she hates more than anything that he didn't tell her. She couldn't get ahead of the Jaehaerys news because he didn't tell her about his backup plan being the kid and she now looks either like an infant killer or incompetent.
Daeron is the third son of ALICENT and Viserys he is probably 15 and has a blue dragon
Aemond is 15 so Daeron has to be 14 or lower.
I guess because of the pacing of the show, theres a lot of characters that aren't being fleshed out properly. I don't understand it, because theres plenty of opportunity for it since they're only focusing on mainly two different factions, Greens and Blacks. One bug complaint last season was that Daiman was supposed to have a close relationship to his daughter (as seen int he books) but that seems to be continuing on to the second season of Daimon basically ignoring her.

Baela is not heir to the throne, but more importantly she is more likely to remain calm and keep out of sight than Jace who might want revenge.

It'd be fair if Aemond was killed becuase he was the murderer (although there should be a trial) but when an innocent suffers because of the death of innocents there's really no justice. That's the problem with war. Innocents die on all sides, even when you want to minimize civilian casualties it happens. So maybe don't go to war.

I’m Team Black for two core reasons:
1) Viserys said what he said. Everybody wanna hold the crown in high regard until the crown does something they don’t like. The king spoke and the Greens tried to backdoor around his wishes.
2) The worst thing Rhaenyra ever did was try to fulfill her duty without completely compromising her own happiness. She’s selfish but not cruel or ambitious or shady. She won’t back down. That’s all.
Also note: the Greens are doing all of this manipulating to put somebody they KNOW is a sadist and a rapist on the throne. Aegon doesn’t care about his son as a person. Watch again. He only ever showed interest in him when it came to “legacy.” Aegon doesn’t care about the realm, either. He only likes being king when it means people admire him. His darker character goes dormant when he gets what he wants. When he’s entertained.
What happened as soon as sh*t stopped going his way? Back to overkill with violence.
Never ever forget that Aegon used to let his bastard children be put into CHILD FIGHTS. They shaved the kids’ teeth down to make them sharper. He liked watching those. So frankly, although it was awful and stupid on Daemon’s part, Aegon kinda deserves to have his baby done dirty. Sins of the father.

A word about Daemon and Aemond: they are aggressive and impulsive, so they mess shit up. But they are principled and loyal. Their savagery is necessary for that world, so that’s not the problem. Corlys didn’t really react to the news his brother died at all he even said “he was too ambitious”. He didn’t care.
His brothers words harmed him too because the boys even tho they’re “bastards” they have the name VALERYON, and since his own son was obviously lgbt he wouldn’t have other heirs and he wants to have his name in history he also said “history remembers NAMES not blood”.
Also if Rheneryas sons marry the daughters of Daemon (who have the VALERYON blood) and if they would have heirs they would not only be of REAL Valeryon blood from Baela, but also named Valeryon because of Rheneryas sons.
Therefore Corys and Rhenys are okay with that because that’s how their family survives.
Daemon started grooming his niece when she was a child. It’s taken her a long time to start seeing that he doesn’t really love her or anyone.

In defense of Helaena, the show has written her as being on the spectrum. So during blood and cheese she clearly knew that something bad was happening but she didn't really understand how bad everything was. That's also why Alicent had to explain her "duty" to ride in the funeral procession, cuz Helaena didn't really understand why she couldn't grieve on her own

She knew Daemon had many faults yes, but I’m not sure arrogance, hard-headedness, and impulsiveness (all common for high borns with dragons) equated to child murderer in her mind. There’s also that air of naivety she has(d) for him as her childhood love (groomer) and uncle. I think young her with so many rules and restrictions, was attracted to HOD’s version of a “bad boy” and she’s now realizing once she’s older she got a monster instead.

The Biblical eye for an eye is a statement of restraint in justice, saying the punishment should fit the crime. It's not encouraging revenge on innocents like this. Killing Aemond could be considered justice. Killing anyone else for his actions is revenge.

I think Dre would have been team Black supporting Raynera after the end of season one. He would have excluded support for Damon though. I don’t think he would have supported green in any way.
Dre would never have supported brother Otto. He would have seen what happened between Alicent and her “misunderstanding “. What the king said on his death bed. She knew Aragon was not supposed to be king .
I genuinely don't know how people support team green at all. The only grace I can give is to Alicent for misunderstanding what Vicerys said. Everything else was unacceptable.
Edit: completely forgot about Halaena and her kids. Defo not on the hook for any of the shenanigans their family has done so far
@@igs_ Team green has the most innocent person in the story, Halaena. The rest of the kids are also much fun to watch. They were dealt the worst hand by having a father who didn't care for them or their mother but openly cared and loved his first child. They also have Alicent, who bore them out of duty and due to her own parenting - her mother who died when she was too young and her emotionally absent father - didn't know how to love them properly.
Their dynamic is much more interesting to watch and to me, they feel like the real underdogs. The only person on the blacks that compare to them would be Daemon and Rheanyra but Daemon is rivalling Voldemort in terms of evilness and Rheanyra has this self-righteousness that I dislike.
