Great Job Mark. Don't feel bad. My landlord drove her Dodge 3500 across the front left corner of my torch red '04 C5. It knocked the paint off down to the black plastic and cracked the brand new turn signal housing. I went to two different body shops and one place turned the job down because of fear of not matching the red. The other shop wanted to replace the entire bumper cover. I had to buy two new turn signal assemblies because that style was sold in pairs. $55 turned into $110 for the assemblies, but I had an extra housing. I needed to replace the other assembly not long after, as the halogen bulbs being so hot melted the housings letting water in and blowing the bulbs. Because of that I replaced most of the bulbs with LED's. Low beam/high beam, fog, turns with a hyper flash module, daytime, side markers. LED's run cooler, not nearly as hot. Plus the headlights were almost dangerous being so dim. The only time I could see was running the brights and well that wasn't working for other drivers. I went to Advance Auto parts and they had touch up paint so that's what I ended up using. From 5 feet away it's hard to see. She gave me half off my rent one month, but that wasn't even close to the estimate to repair and repaint it, and replace the turn signal housing. She was a "drinkin and a drivin" btw, clearly intoxicated. Of course it didn't do anything to her truck as she hit me with the truck's right rear tire. But straight up, folks like these cars to be "perfect" with less than 75k miles on them, so she basically knocked 2 grand off the value of the car if I tried to sell it. Thanks Donna!
I just smoked down an armadillo….i don’t think the plastic welder will fix this one…might have to replace the actual bumper too…I just parked the car:..said that’s a tomorrow problem I need sleep.
